[quote name='elavery' timestamp='1357107827'] What canals are you using and what are the tall circular buildings? Fantastic picture. Nice picture!
  5. Problems with the No Grass Mod

Do you have a screen shot? You might be missing the Euro overrides.
  6. Templar International Airport Part2!

Your Lot Editing Skills are very good! You should try releasing your older works on the STEX. They will be very popular, no doubt.
  7. Thanks for your reply. Does this create a .dat file? Will the file be a mod or an .sc4lot?
  8. Casteñola: Plaza José Fábregas

You are a very good player! You should release your work on the STEX. Amazing!
  9. Problems with the No Grass Mod

If I have time, I think I should write a guide on how to get it to work with EURO textures. It actually works but the loading order is just very tricky and I found it frustrating. It's a lot of trial and error. I also used a few Japanese mods and SimCityChina Mods. @ hotChocolate : The loading order is very tricky. What does your NAM folder look like?

5/5 The industrial areas are fantastic.
  11. Lucy Bradshaw responds to Reddit controversy

I wish the comments on that blog were more respectful. We have every right to agree or disagree. But some comments on the simcity blog and reddit page are so insulting and mean. Kip's answer is not very reassuring. I don't see how long the Maxis team can keep up with ALL the problems that will occur once the game is released. Internet "outages" can and most likely, they will happen. How long will this game last until EA shuts down the servers? It seems that this "always-online" is only creating more problems than it solves.
  12. Supply, Demand, and SimCity's Global Market

"SimCity's global market is designed to be more than a fast way to make some extra cash. It is an optional objective, a nudge in a different direction. You can dip into it sparingly without much commitment, or dive in and structure your entire cityscape around its whims. Its influence can lead you to riches, or to ruin. But most importantly, it can help give your city a story." I HOPE it is 100% optional.
  13. It's very tedious to put "LOT" files, in and out of your Plugins folder (and there is a high chance they will get lost or deleted by accident). I just want to put my personal blocker mods in a folder in my Plugins. As Bipin said, sometimes it is not practical to remove the lots . If there is any tutorial on this, that would be very helpful.

  16. Dusktrooper's "block all Maxis" mod will take care of the original in-game content. It has different folders, if you want to block specific types and/or wealth levels (for instance, if you wanted to prevent any Maxis CS$ from growing, etc.) I use it as part of the testing of my BATs, to see their growth. I also think there's a mod out there somewhere that blocks a specific building (Wren Insurance, I think). Just to clarify I already have that mod by DuskTrooper. I want to block custom content buildings.
  17. BEER TRUCK PACK - VOL - 2

Great job! I was hoping someone would make this.
  18. Midnight Express!

Great update. My favorite picture is the one with the train. Nice background. (Is that a custom background?)
  19. New Screenshots

It's an old picture. But I noticed this:
  20. New Screenshots

Hello Maxis Developers, The elevated road looks fantastic! I notice the viaducts so far are 2 lane roads. Will there be any avenue overpasses? Thanks That's something I wanted to do but it doesn't look like it's going to happen 1) I remember there was news about 3 - level overpasses. Was that removed? 2) Will there be any expressway interchanges (inside cities)? http://www.inautonew...ld#.UNXn629wpLY 3) Boulevards? Credit: Pictures from: http://www.simcity.c....php?tid=109484
  21. SimCity freezes with plugins

Read the readme for the Industrial Replacement MOD. It replaces all Maxis Industrial Lots. You need to bulldoze all Maxis lots in all your cities first before installing it. If you don't want it to replace anything. You can open Lot editor and get a different TGI number for all 250 lots. It is very tedious but if you cannot afford to bulldoze all Maxis Industrial Lots it might be your only choice. Or, you can PM the creator (TWrecks) and petition for a non replacement set (if it exists). Thanks.. What exactly is BldgProps_Vol1 and 2?? It is a general dependency. Everyone needs it to see Maxis Buildings as Props. http://screwpile.wor...ex/maxis-files/
  22. This is barely an argument on why subways cannot be included. Most of the constraints and compromises are self - inflicted decisions. They insist on simulating every single SIM you see (including SIMS playing at home, going to the casinos, etc). They also insist on simulating every city on the map in real time. I have nothing against those decisions but it becomes so painfully obvious that their servers cannot handle it and most PCs won't be able to handle all these major simulations without major compromises. I don't even want to write here about how many things they already compromised since there are threads here for that. They are missing the forest for the trees. They even decided to put limits on save slots. They also decided to "ration" how many regions you may own. Good luck with that. That is a clear sign to me that this game will have an inevitably short life span. If they are going to compromise THAT much, they should re - think their strategy. SC (2013): Some steps forward. Many steps backward. I am not trying to be harsh or mean. The developers have many good ideas here and there. Ultimately it is just a question of which ones to prioritize. The developers have taken a lot of time to interact with the community but EA is deaf. Please look at some people's CJ's here or the "Show us Your Region" threads in Simtropolis or sc4devotion.com. Some of the better players have been able to make regions that look like satellite images. Then look at this: https://i.imgur.com/Q74s5.jpg The main difference is really simple. SC4 lets you control ALL the space in your region. SC4 is far from perfect but this allowed people to have 100% freedom to "terraform" and control the look of the whole region and not just the cities [This feature is missing in SC (2013) ]. I can even have tiles with no people or buildings - just snow, mountains, rivers, trees and MMPs. The problem with SC 2013 is that you have a "pre - set" region with all these 2x2 "circles" which are not connected to each other. From afar they look like "bubble cities" connected to each other with "lines" and "webs" (pre - set neighbor connections). There is also no "urban sprawl". Instead, you have empty spaces everywhere. This is why the region scale is not very convincing to the human eye. So what on earth is this "vision" that Maxis has? Don't compare trams and subways. That is like comparing apples and oranges. They have their own functions and limitations. Your only argument against subways (again) is: "WE have to see our SIMS play in their gardens and we need to track all 200,000 people". That's a non sequitur. You are arguing for and against two different things here. I think watching and tracking ALL ~200,000+ Sims is lovely, but it is an UNNECESSARY compromise. That is exactly one of the things that needs a lot of computing power. The game needs to keep track of ALL these people: where they live, their ages, their names, their school/work. Now the game also has to factor in crime, education levels, health, etc. It also needs to collect data for ALL individuals as they grow old, marry, and die. All of these things are changing every second you play. The game has to keep making these calculations every second. I think it sounds great on paper. But the developers sacrificed too much in terms of the overall scope of the game.
