If you made it smaller and put it on top of a fountain youd have half the Universal Studios entrance... -
Those roofs look soooo much better! I really like that you were able to get the white ones to still be white without being overly bright. Looking forward to seeing these on the STEX

Raymond's Newbie Thoughts
thecitiescenter replied to Raymond7cn's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Ah yeah, I shouldve probably clarified, i get errors on anything bigger than 20x20 sc4 tiles or 640 m height if rendering as one whole piece. There are, of course, ways to split a model into pieces and render separately and then either plop next to each other to make whole again, or, as a series of props. -

@Raymond7cn Im not sure as to the exact calculations for size limits, but after extensive trial and error I cant seem to get anything over 20x20 squares or 640 meters tall... and thats LOD size so i kinda just keep those dimensions as a general rule of thumb. -

That is the correct definition of the word arcology - and 5th arcology is a reference to SimCity 2000 where there were 4 arcologies that players could plop once their city met some minimum population thresholds and after the game year 2000. https://m.imgur.com/gallery/nYmyV I thought yours looked like those and is definitely worthy of being next in line for 5th. Also re: size, Im not sure about 3dsmax but ive been hitting a limit in gmax of approx 19x19 sc4 tiles. Anything over 20x20 gives me an error while rendering. -

BAT - Getting Started Guide / FAQ / Resources / Help
thecitiescenter replied to Jasoncw's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Hi @Jasoncw could you explain this one a bit further? I have this issue with a model, but Im not completely sure what you mean by downloading the fixed lighting rig or “find link to fixed rig”? Thanks in advance! -
You could try to drop a light grey layer then lower the opacity of that layer so that it still shows up white in game but isnt as burnt out. Gmax renders things brighter than they should, so I always darken my textures to compensate. The other thing you could try is adding some noise, random spots so that theres some variation. To tell you the truth, I wouldnt normally have bothered making suggestions but in your case, I think your work looks great on 3 of the 4 sides and touching up the roof even slightly would really take it home for the win.

Very cool background story, always great to hear those! Absolutely love your work so far! Nanchang, Jiangxi is a place that while i have never been has special meaning for me personally so I hope that you are able to complete that building! Nanchang is on my list of to-dos as part of my real world map collections here on the STEX as well. The other two look awesome as well! Look fwd to seeing more and keep it up!

Try downloading AdoptOpenJDK and use that instead of the Oracle version. Its a much more straight forward install process. Oracles installer always gave me issues in the past. Once installed just double click on the NAM installer file. The link is on Page 1 of this thread.

Thanks @rsc204 for the response! So I should’ve probably clarified that I meant the turn arrows for the Legacy Ave Turn Lanes were still RHD. I didnt check the paths. Im not too familiar with the lingo so pardon my ignorance here, but if im understanding you correctly it sounds like the pathing is LHD as it should be, but the arrows are still on the RHD side (consistent with what Im getting in my game)....., and this may be due to missing files or components?

I posted this on the general support thread, but it seems this one gets more activity, apologies for the redundancy, but does anybody know if the Legacy Ave Turn Lanes (when checked in the NAM37 installer) come in LHD? I've tried several installs and I can only seem to get RHD in game. Even after selecting LHD options for everything else (which work in - game , but the automatic Ave turn lanes do not).

Are the legacy automatic avenue turn lanes in NAM37 supposed to come in RHD and LHD? Or just RHD? I only get RHD even if I install the LHD options in the installer.

Not an exact replica of, but heavily inspired by Hollywood Burbank Airport in Southern California. The finished product will likely have a different name.

Hyatt Regency is one of several hotel brands operated by the Hyatt Hotels Corporation, an American hospitality company based in Chicago, IL. As of 2018, there are 777 Hyatt hotels worldwide. Hyatt Regency hotels are full-service hotels typically located in either urban or suburban areas. In cities where they operate, there are generally one or two Hyatt Regency hotels per market, though larger markets (such as Los Angeles or the San Francisco Bay Area) may have more. Hyatt Regency hotels are typically rated four stars. While they are not considered "luxury" hotels, they are a step (in terms of quality and cost) above select-service hotels that are more commonly found in smaller markets or suburban areas. Each Hyatt Regency hotel typically includes a large number of rooms (350+), one or more sit-down restaurants, 24-hour staff and room service, VIP "Regency Clubs", pools and fitness areas, a business center, and large ballrooms and meeting spaces. Many locations (especially those built during the 1980s) also feature large atriums that open from the lobby floor to the ceiling. The design of the SC4 version presented here was inspired by a typical newly-built convention center Hyatt Regency hotel. The building sits on a 3x7 lot that can be found in the Landmarks menu. The back side of the building features a sound wall which allows you to plop the building next to a highway or major arterial roadway. The sound wall does a great job preventing vehicle noise from disturbing those very lucky Sims stuck in ultra-boring, all-day work conferences... all of whom I am sure are looking forward to Happy Hour with their bosses, clients or "vendors" afterwards. For best results, please copy all of the contents of the Zip File into your Plugins folder. Dependencies (OPTIONAL): PC Mega Props Volume 1 (optional - Adds vehicles to the front entrance area)- 1 Comment

CTD on request on Lot created by me
thecitiescenter replied to hugues aroux's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
By "?" do you mean the query tool? I wonder if it's an extension of this problem I was having w/my lot. Although in my case I wasn't using PIMX.
