  1. NAM: Requests - 2nd Edition

Does this only apply to rail paths, or to all non-road paths except subway?
  2. NAM: Requests - 2nd Edition

When it doesn't even have any straight crossing pieces and you have to place useless and ugly cutoff roads to get it to cross empty space... Yeah, that's bad... My guess is that the Subway capacity for rail is exe-hardcoded to be 0, meaning that any non-zero value will trigger congestion, because 1 is bigger than 0. What exactly are the editable statistics for Subway?
  3. NAM: Requests - 2nd Edition

I thought it might have been something like that. I've actually been wanting the Tar Sealed Streets or something similar in the SAM for years now...
  4. NAM: Requests - 2nd Edition

I don't know what street is being showcased in this, but I think something like that should be SAM 12. What does the NAM Team think?
  5. Raymond's Newbie Thoughts

    Yes, that's the one.
  6. Raymond's Newbie Thoughts

That underground garage entrance would be cool to have.
  7. Raymond's Newbie Thoughts

Speaking of, I've actually been looking for "floating island" lots that create a sky hole, wondering if such a thing would ever get made...
  8. Raymond's Newbie Thoughts

Basically what I'm saying is, the overhanging intersection lot placed in the corner prevents anything from being placed there, and I was wondering if it would be possible for the actual lot tile to have a slip lane, though I doubt it would be functional...
  9. Raymond's Newbie Thoughts

I wonder if it's possible to make an intersection corner lot work with slip lanes...
  10. Atlantic City Boardwalk

I wonder if this could be combined with OWW2...
  11. WolfZe's content?

So from what I'm hearing, either WolfZe passed away, or his Patreon was shut down, possibly by EA. Does anyone know for sure what happened? And what about archival? So much stuff has been lost because no one's bothered to archive it... I have a folder with several of Wolf's lots, and if it comes to making an archive, I could easily contribute. Though his stuff was paid right before it vanished, so that may add some extra wrinkles...
  12. NAM General Support

SC4 was clearly meant to be greatly abstracted like previous games, the fact the base game only has cloverleaf, diamond and side interchanges is more evidence. The bridges were likely that combined with consistency, given that the slopes are *technically* hardcoded...
  13. Raymond's Newbie Thoughts

I'm not sure what's going on with the blades, but the rest of the building seems fine to me. I'm interested in seeing more futuristic and fantastical buildings, myself.
  14. NAM: Development

This is going to make the 2x2 roundabouts much more viable in RHW setups. I see some errors in the second and third screenshots, though...
  15. Isn't the median piece on the C-type networks bidirectional, though? So would converting the 8S to 8C work as a crude, congestion-prone workaround?
  16. Raymond's Newbie Thoughts

It's good to see you're back and doing alright. I've been sick lately, too. I know what it feels like to be in a bad state. I noticed you reacted to some of my older posts regarding weird lots that you don't see anymore. I wonder if anything will come out of this...
  17. I'm just getting 503 errors. Something seems to be dragging the site to the grave...
  18. bugs Simtropolis 9.0.x - Bugs & Issues Report Thread

I actually went to bed shortly after I posted here, so I didn't experience the bug for long.
  19. bugs Simtropolis 9.0.x - Bugs & Issues Report Thread

Same problem here, in fact, images are returning 404 errors.
  20. NAM: Requests - 2nd Edition

You're thinking the Ground Highway, I believe. Ground Highway is hardcoded to block all intersections with ground networks.
  21. "THE THING" - Park Sidings, by PGX

IIRC the limit was 250/255/256 at the time SC4 was made, so 250 is the safe limit. Not sure about the Mac version with its 1024 character limit...
  22. What has been lost?

I have to wonder how much content has been lost forever, never to be seen again unless someone has a copy on their hard drive... Off the top of my head, anything on the PLEX not by Pegasus or Paeng that wasn't already on the STEX or LEX when SimPeg died. And recently I learned of a whole bunch of Japanese stuff, much of which is gone forever AFAIK, particularly some really cool stuff by one particular user, which may never see the light of day again... Is there anything else I'm missing? EDIT: Then there's this situation, where each of the two downloads has a corrupt file that is physically impossible to extract (Incidentally, I'm getting a problem with these two files and some others, WinZip can't extract them but 7Zip can, and it displays katakana instead of mojibake when doing so. I wonder if there's a connection, but I doubt it, it seems more like the codepoint for the ー character corresponds to 0xE23C or something like that)
  23. NAM: Requests - 2nd Edition

What about Contraflow interchanges? For the actual Contraflow sections you could just use ARD-3 or RHW-3, at least for initial tests...
  24. "THE THING" - Park Sidings, by PGX

Many of the files are longer than what Windows allows. I'm not sure what the maximum file path length is on Mac (though Google says it's 1024), but on Windows it's 250 characters max IIRC (and IIRC this has been the case since MS-DOS 1, the only changes were removing the 8.3 character limit per file name from 95 onwards and allowing the ^ character in filenames from XP onwards).
  25. What has been lost?

Thanks for pointing me towards NOB's current site. Though there are other sites I found that seem to be gone... (Really, I just linked to what I thought was the coolest stuff I found but didn't see a download link for)
