  1. TG Bell Tower

bone12354, many of those buildings (I'm not sure about the prudential) were already created & uploaded onto STEX. The search feature can be very useful. Anyway, excellent job as always Scotty222. 10/10 ;-)
  2. MP Mexican Cantina

    Nice job. 10/10 :-)
  3. TG 3 Bentall Centre

    Very nice. 10/10 :-)
  4. Show Us Your Suburbs

I'll likely be adding my own soon. Anyway, post your high-density, walkable & transit-friendly shopping districts with all sorts of fancy shops (like goofyguytpa's lots), These can be in your big city neighborhoods or your big city downtown areas. BTW, although welcomed, I'm really looking for shopping districts without storefront parking (like you would see in Europe or NYC, Chicago, etc.)
  5. Lets Abandon Spelling!

You know, after reading all of the replies, I wonder if the pot is calling the kettle black...

The entire thing is a big no-no. I have a headache from trying to proofread it.
  7. TG Calgary Place 2

    Very nice. 10/10 :-)
  8. mipro BSP Hofmann Building

    Very nice. 10/10.
  9. New Official BAT Request Thread

I have a BAT Request - The Penobscot Building (downtown Detroit) Currently, it sits right inthe heart of Detroit's financial district & is the tallest stand alone structure in the state of Michigan (in number of floors). It is te central fiber optic hub for the city & many law firms, radio stations, and civic center occupy the skyscraper. The only other stand-alone building that's arguabley taller is Comerica Tower (Detroit One Center). From 1996 to 2007 it served as the world headquarters for Comerica Bank. Although it only has 43 floors, the individual floor height is taller than the Penobscot's. Anyway, the Penobscot building was constructed dring Detroit's first renaissance, where several mid & high-rises went up from the 1900 - 1929. Some believe if it weren't for the great depression, downtown Detroit would have even more/taller skyscrapers & likely show some resemblance to midtown Manhattan. In fact, it even inspired the developers of the Empire State Building in NYC. It's architect, Wirt C. Rowland, also designed several other mid & high-rises in downtown Detroit's financial district, including the Buhl & Guardian buildings. The Penobscot building (an art-deco structure) was completed in 1928 & named the tallest structure in the state of Mihcigan (surpassing the 38-story Book Tower also in downtown Detroit). However in 1977, the central Tower in the Renaissance Center (also know as the General Motors world headquarters) exceeded it with 73 stories. There were actually 3 different buildings in downtown Detroit under the name "Penobscot". The original structure was demolished in 1911, and a 2nd Penobscot building sits on the same block as the 47-story Penobscot building, right around the corner (Congress & Griswold).
  10. Just to eliminate some confusion, this is for in-game SC4 cities only. Anyway, what wouldy ou say is the most important part or aspect of any city in the game? *Big Cities -For your large metropolis, I think one of the most important things are a good transit system. Sims will not want to live there if they don't have efficient mobility. Thus if sims don't want to live there, then your city won't have a tax base & if your city doesn't have a tax base, then it dies. It depends on your style of play, but for asthetic features street activity & density (street walls) are also important. *Suburbs -For your townships, I think good civic services such as police & schools are the most important. You're usually going to have large families in your town, and they always want to send their kids to good schools. If the city doesn't offer that, then it's dead. Also, man ytof your sims will want to escape the big city life & live a more simpler life, where everything is nice & quiet. You will need very efficient law & order if you're looking for this. Otherwise, the town will just be a crime-filled wasteland. For asthetic features, it's always best to build with plenty of green & space in-between your buildings. Most suburbs don't have 100-story skyscrapers or 100 blocks going the same direction.

  12. MP W2W Taco Bell

Oops, here's your 2 thumbs up
  13. MP W2W Taco Bell

Superb job. 10/10 as always :-)
  14. Rowhome Project

This is a nice job, but ploppable R$$ doesn't work in the game for some reason.
  15. Post Modding Requests Here

Hi everyone. I have one request (if that's ok). -The Penobscot Building (downtown Detroit) I want to BAT/modd myself, but I don't know how & I would like someone to hold my hand when I do learn.
  16. Commute Time Mod

  17. Some questions

The same question also for Great Museum, When I receive it, can I delete the other small ones, or not? Brgdsquote> 1. They generally have the same functions. One will usually suffice. I don't recommend building another college/unviersity until your current one is filled past capacity. 2. Think of it as a big city. There's the main library & branches all around town. You don't have to keep the small library since the main library offers nearly 500,000 books, but individuals branches all around the city will boost your EQ level. 3. Same as library.
  18. SC4 UNIVERSITY never crowded?

Originally posted by: Gregorfp Ah, does anyone have a overcrowded University to show? This topic would be like "Show us ... your UNIVERSITY ATTENDANCE" []quote> Oh, you can always lower the capacity if you like.
  19. SC4 UNIVERSITY never crowded?

Originally posted by: Gregorfp Guys, I'm wondering why my Universities never gets filled up with students. I have High educational levels (above 160), high elementar schools usages, high schools are great but College and University never get overcrowded. Is this ok or am I doing something wrong?Note that libraries end museums are good as well. I don't know how to post pictures, s here comes a brief description of one of my cities: Pop: 480.000 - Medium tile Ave Education - 190 and 100% coverage (al green lol) Education by age - above 190 in every age College - 3500 students University - 3900 students Since Colleges and University cover the entire city, I guess it should embrace more students right? SFMBE -sorry for my bad english quote> Well you must remember, only a handful of very intelligent students will attend your university & college (one who can afford it & ones who have the grades). Not to mention, this only includes the people in the city alone. In retrospect, 5,000 students is a reasonable size for most universities.
  20. Well, some of the downloads on STEX weren't intended to have a parking lot. What you can do is edit the BAT in the SC4 lot editor & make a custom parking lot for youself. However, you can't upload it back onto STEX without permission from the original creator.
