Unfortunately, these are the major reasons that if you wish to have any real fun with SC4 on a Mac, you should invest in the Steam Version. Enter your entire path to your BMP file within quotation marks, that is how you should be able to solve it, otherwise enter "\" before spaces.

Apple Will Release Arm MacBooks Tomorrow and The Effects on SimCity 4
TEG24601 replied to Propfam's topic in SC4 Mac Users
With Rosetta 2, it is highly unlikely that anything will need to be done. However, given the popularity, it is likely that Aspry may re-compile for a native solution. -
Never buy the AppStore version. It is far too locked down and difficult to mod. The Steam Version will function just like your Disc did, you don't even have to move the plugins.

AFAIK, the only limitation to running NAM on PPC Macs is the installer. You could certainly extract/install the application on a windows computer (or Virtual PC install of XP) and copy it over. That is what I did for 6 years on my PowerBook.

You can also locate plugins in ~/Documents/Sim City 4 -

99% of the Mods are compatible. So long as they don't use DLL files, you are good. Those that come in EXE format you will need to use FileJuicer to extract the files, or use WineSkin to run the extractor/installer.

Find any minor bugs or game quirks? Post them here!
TEG24601 replied to wallacet's topic in Cities: Skylines Technical Help Q&A
The only major issues I have is actually similar to those I have with CIM2. The main menu, when loading, doesn't display correctly. I actually can't read it, but do see entries, and once I get the game going, everything loads fine. The second thing, is that after a few hours, the game seems to bog down, and I have to save an quit, lest I get the spinning beachball of death, like I do in CIM2. -
More and more US freeways offramps are ending in roundabouts, it works quite well. There are also many large format interfaces between surface streets and freeways that are actually just squished roundabouts. This to me is the future of interfaces, SPUI's and Roundabouts, and only one of those can currently be constructed in Cities: Skylines.

Questions regarding graphic settings
TEG24601 replied to Pepe The Great's topic in Cities: Skylines General Discussion
1 - Tilt Shift 2 - This is on purpose so you know where the pollution is. 3 - Not planned, but with enough demand it could be coming. Of course, this was one of my least favorite aspects of SC4. -
What Are Your System Specs?
TEG24601 replied to Mystrelia's topic in Cities: Skylines Technical Help Q&A
MacBook Pro Retina Quad Core i7 2.6Ghz, 16GB RAM Intel Graphics 4000 with 1GB and GeForce 650M with 1GB Your setup should be fine. -
What do you mean exactly? AFAIK you simply place them in the Plug-ins folder.
-
It is going to be within the Package Contents of the .Appstore file that is the game.

All you should need to do is press "ESC" to deselect whatever tool you have selected, that would be the only reason you couldn't do it anymore.

App Store SC4 - is it updated with all patches
TEG24601 replied to cardiomonkey's topic in SC4 Mac Users
Nope. It is ready to go. Just read the other posts about installing plug-ins, it gets a bit tricky with the AppStore version, vs the Steam version.
