    Thank you very much!
  2. highway ramp questions

I had the same problem and found this post. I am finally able to do this service road style stuff, thanks. The thing is I wonder where do the overpass piece and avenue's stonemade central divider and sidewalk come from like in the image shown. I can't even get the avenue across the one-way road. Is it found in a special package somewhere? Other question, even though it might not be the right thread... do you know what the difference is between the Ground Highway Ramp-OneWayRoad Forward 01 and Ground Highway Ramp-OneWayRoad Forward 02?
  3. Sunken Highway Issues

Hmmm... Yes, it was supposed to be 14, not 15. The tutorial used 15 because that is the NAM depth. Buddybud always used 14 which is why, if you look closely, the "bleeding through" occurs in the tutorial images. Here's the same setup I made with a 14m depth... [image] You might want to be sure the terrain is flat and level the entire length of the highway. Perhaps it was 14 in one location but not in another... And for Jeronij's dependency file, there could have been files re-done into newer packs. I'll have to do a little digging... Bleeding through?

I have wished for some of these old railway hotels. Keep Canadian historic buildings going.

  6. NAM General Support

As I resumed playing the game after a good year off, I try out new things like the Road Widening Mod, namely to get rid of a traffic problem in an old way, a one-way loop (I'm not doing a great, classic job at designing with this new city), but in a new fashion, a three-lane, one-way road. And... for whatever reason, it seems the simulator couldn't get any vehcle to drive on that OWR-3, as only pedestrians used it! Once again the question: is this normal? @CaptCity 1: The solution worked. I guess my lay off from the game was so long I kind of forgot everything. 2: Well, that cul-de-sac looks oh, so very nice. Let's hope it'll work out so it can be made available at some point in the future!
  7. NAM General Support

Oh, thank you CaptCity. And by the way: that cul-de-sac we see at the end of the road... where can one get that?
  8. NAM General Support

Double-decker (el-rail+road) trouble... I'd like to make a straight-line rail line, with a road going in and then, out. However, the pieces don't connect properly. What could possibly be wrong?
  9. SimCity 4 Realism Mod 3.0 Part 1

I like the idea of the small parking, for uses such as the one shown in the linked Youtube video (-> near soccer pitches or baseball fields.)

Looking for avenues, roads, one ways, streets that would be made of cobblestone...

Same issue as doodlea21. Needs work, but the idea is too good to leave the way it is now.

mrbisonm : I wonder how you do it... posting your reply exactly 12 hours after the other one I just thought of something a bit weird. I have never really edited things, so... I'd like to see how much it went onto the street, do you have any screenshots? Did hang over on one side of the lot ? Or was it hanging on both sides ?
  15. Can't Find It? Ask Here!

OK. Now, I have found on the SimCity website Paris' Arc de Triomphe. I would have loved to insert it as a roundabout filler, but it is too big (3x2 I t. However, I wonder if anyone has a 2x2 version of the landmark, or if anyone thinks it can somehow fit on 2x2, even if it hangs juuuuuust a little on the edges. Can it actually be extracted and edited ? Maybe my message will end up on the suggestions for new stuff thread...

What does it fix exactly ?
  17. Vista trouble !

Ok, here's how things are going. My mom bought a brand-new laptop somewhere late november (not the most powerful), and I get to use it more than she does, being a novice at using a computer It has Vista Home, alright, I could install SimCity 4 Deluxe without any glitch, it starts, it loads a city (say, Making Money tutorial), I pause it, but once I start to zoom in and out, a flurry of colors comes into play : skyscrapers' façade, colored spots... I don't know what the problem is. 1 GB RAM, Core Duo T2350, intel GMA 900 something, no plugins installed or anything : I just wanted to run the game to see what kind of performance it could deliver. Editing this post from an XP-running P III 650, 256 MB RAM (I run the game on a separate, old, small 6GB HD with 98SE), bought in the summer of 2000 with a couple of hardware updates since, I feel due up for a change. I think of buying a laptop (even if I would get a better bang for my buck settling for a desktop CPU) within the next weeks, and wonder if I'd be better off to ditch Vista in favor of XP... For what my mom will do, I don't consider switching her OS, but I'd like to know if anyone has an answer for the video trouble. Thank you (If someone here wishes to PM me in French about this matter, don't hesitate!)
  18. Vista trouble !

Yesterday I tried both 1200x900x32 and 1440x900x32. While the latter looked perfectly natural, the graphics go crazy as descried when I do a very quick zoom-in. 1200x900x32 has given me a stretched look, but it worked good. I still haven't played really, just entered into one city and one undeveloped territory, once again. Upon verification, I had put a folder in the plugin folder, plus 2 more plugins (bldgprop_vol1 and 2).
  19. Vista trouble !

I wonder if the N_O_Body topic about updating the game could be related to my situation... could be the anti-alias thing which I don't know much about now, but I'll look at it later. As for resolution, I had tried a custom tag in the shortcut target before posting the topic... but I think I did it all wrong ! I set the custom tag as 1440x900 or something like it, just the way my screen is (I didn't get it right when I read a related topic on custom resolution), instead of writing, say, 1200x900. Writing 1440x900 made the game even more stretched horizontally ! Desktop, right click, properties ... Maximum Graphics Memory : it says 224 MB, and 73 MB in use.
  20. HK 8 Waterloo Road

Once again, this has the look of flawless, impossible to critic work ;) I'll download it in a second :) An easy 10.
  21. MP Subway Apts

Brilliant concept. While Simcity4 doesn't allow multipurpose zoning (residential and commercial in the same building), seldom have we seen people skinning a residential building to get both, in a way. An easy ten.
  22. New Roads

Having been one of the people who talked about this 4-lane in a tile concept (while doing nothing 'cause I don't know squat), I have to thank j-dub. It is a nice eye candy, indeed. Many streets in my hometown look like this. Nice effort :)
  23. Can't Find It? Ask Here!

I would like to find a fence to go along a railroad track just like the one seen on this picture : http://www.stexserver.com/lots/coultharda/coultharda_small%20athletics%20and%20football%20ground/Trinup%2EJPG (if this link is not clickable, how do I achieve this ? Sorry for looking so bad :S)

Great set of schools, with the other one. If someone finishes them, there's a lot of promise !
  25. Toyota dealership and automata

I always forget to search for car dealerships... and boy, this reminder is as good as it gets ! By the way, Glenni, it is dag1992 who talked first about the Peugeot make and this IS the right spelling (he was right).
