Official update for the Rush Hour / Deluxe versions of the game. It updates the RH/Deluxe versions to version EP1 Update 1 / 1.1.638.0. The Building Architect Tool is actually a suite of tools. It includes the Building Architect gamepack for gmax™, the Plug-in Manager, and an updated version of the Lot Editor.- Update 1.1.640.0 which fixes BAT nighlighting is available in this section -- Using the SC4 Buildings and Props Download the Sim City 4 Buildings and Props file (BldgPropVol1.dat - 300Kb) and put it into your SimCity 4 plug-in folder, \\My Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins. Using the Rush Hour Buildings and Props Download the Rush Hour Buildings and Props file (BldgPropVol2.dat - 71Kb) and put it into your SimCity 4 plug-in folder, \\My Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins. (These last two seem to be a 'basic' dependency for many files.) Hope this helps! -

Someone already stared something like that I believe. I am not sure how far it is, but I think that is the closest we will ever have to have a open source sim city. http://themetropolisproject.org On a side note, I am not sure why people really want a full 3d engine. It would be cool, but seriously, if it's just for eye candy I don't care at all. Actually there's a thread along those lines at Simtropolis.. link is here... -
... you could start another neighboring city... or raise taxes as yarahi suggested... lower your education rate..(no new schools, libraries ..etc..). unless you are using SPAM... it IS a bit of a twist on the original program. The best part about this 'game'... there is no 'right or wrong' You are the Mayor! Use your powers... and then there is always Buggi's awesome '"Extra Cheats" (This file is hosted at the BSC File Exchange (aka LEX)) you would need to be registered (for free) at the BSC File Exchange. You can add many simoleans to your coffer, amongst other things. There is also a file on the STEX (Simtropolis File Exchange) posted by cweasoft (?? unknown to me?) Extra Cheats plugin from Maxis 1 but is most likley the same file. To find out all that this download can add to your game... check out this thread. Have fun... don't forget to back up!

Well said Nonny Moose! There ARE 2 sides (and an edge) to every coin in my pocket! One thing I have noticed in my years on the planet... Life is a pendulum: swinging back and forth, from one extreme to the other. Life seems to get this little 'lull' as we get towards the 'middle' of the arc... and end up complacent, as Mrbisonm stated eloquently above. Life will go on... it always has... hopefully we'll come out of this with more people with food in their bellies and roofs over their heads.. instead of less. edit: @ Krbe I missed your post If we can't see the same value in our next door neighbor as we want for ourselves.... it's going to be a very strange feeling when work from overseas is outsourced here... because the labour is 'cheaper'. -

Unfortunately (IMHO) we are all to blame for the mess we're in. For some reason we balk when it comes to paying our fellow countrymen/women a good wage. We all want to MAKE a good wage... but on the other hand, we shop at Walmart and other similar stores that get everything 'cheap' out of China, India, Vietnam etc... (Walmart has put more local manufactures out of business... but that's a whole other topic.. or is it?) If we were willing to pay a little more to our neighbour down the street, the money would still be here.. in our country... paying for our schools, bridges, policing etc... instead, we have taken it out of our economy and China, India etc.. are building new roads, schools etc, with OUR hard earned money. We won't get out of this pickle as long as we want something for nothing (or as little as possible.) If we make a habit of supporting people who work in our own town, state / province, country, we will slowly improve our lot... We really have gotten exactly what we've(not) paid for... -
You haven't checked your settings? Yes, it can happen; when you update the game it may return all your settings to Low.... and return Hardware setting to Software.... sometimes even the resolution... If that isn't the problem..have you updated/changed your video card lately? I read a few people having problems from installing updates to their video drivers? -shrug-

It's called the Immortal Lot syndrome... fortunately Ripple Jet has a fix called RJ - Immortality Killer. It is over at the BSC Lot Exchange - you'll have to register (it's free) to see the download button.. -
.. well... you could consider it done... but if you work on the roof junk, wall textures, and scale down the AC units hanging off the side of the building, you will get a much better rating when you upload it.

BAT = Building Architect Tool... it's one the great tools that let players create custom content for the game. You can check out the BAT thread here. The Omnibus is also a great place for all kinds of information.. Cheers

Being that you have the download version, the game comes patched to 1.1.641.0 and further patches are NOT needed. -

Hi _marsh_ I was having this kind of problem too. I could log in from the laptop, but not my PC. Following catty's instructions below worked for me. (Her instructions for XP worked for me on Vista.) its located in Win XP in the C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\... folder on my computer and for some strange reason it had the SC4D IP addresses in it, after the localhost address (which is meant to be there) Hope this helps!

Have you checked out 'rivit's' Coastal Modd? It could get you a little closer to what you want... Your other alternative is to want it bad enough to 'play' around with the 'terrain / flora files'. I mentioned in an earlier post that Lowkee33 and _marsh_ are 2 currently active masters of 'terrain alteration' (there are more members, hopefully the community can help name some more!) The desire to emulate a specific geography / industry / lifestyle is what created this site (and others) How far are you willing to take your 'desires'? There have been thousands who's aspiration to create and tenacity to persevere through the learning curve to 'mod /BAT / lot' what they wanted... which is why we have such an awesome custom content pool to draw from.. somebody wanted something that wasn't 'readily' available. Just don't forget to have fun.. it's the whole point of the 'game!

You might want to search out fellow Simtropians _marsh_ and Lowkee33. They have done stunning work with beaches/ and or/ terrain. (Lowkee has a great thread over at SC4Devotion, but that forum is down due to an site upgrade.) Checking out some of their threads might help you along.... Don't forget to backup!!
