I can't download Bripizza's four-time runway from their website.

It seems that Windows Defender is throwing up a security warning on that and other items on the site. Is that what is happening to you? Not sure why that started now, but it has been happening to me with other things also. Probably something in a recent Defender update.

The files have been around a long time with no issues. I guess it's up to you if you want to bypass the warning, if that is what is happening in your case.

I downloaded Cori's Parks Aura mod, which is great.

Parks aura is good because it assists in residential development, to see if parks are helping out any zoned residential areas.  The similar effect known to me is the Landmark effect, which helps out commercial areas.

I use landmarks sparingly because they take up lots of space that otherwise could be used for zoned development.  However, I think that it might be useful in the long run to have SOME landmarks that are purely landmarks and not ploppable buildings with jobs, in order to provide the "Landmark effect" for commercial zones.

Is there a mod that can show the Landmark effect, similar to the Parks Aura that Cori and Cyclone Boom made?

From what I understood from the dev thread, it's not possible:

Nope, not Defender. I clicked the link, the page loading icon animated, but no download happened.

EDIT: It's fine now, I downloaded it on Edge. Something on Chrome apparently blocked the download.

Something about the site must not be playing nice with browsers' security. On Chrome, I had to use the "Save link as..." option and then manually "Keep" the file. Apparently, the site isn't considered to be using a secure connection.

2 yrs ago when I transferred SC4 to a new laptop, I soon realized that a few of my plugin files (which were DATpacked) did not make it to the new PC. I have retrieved a lot of them, but not all.  Maybe y'all can help me find these three?

1.  The texture file (I think) for the Chelsea Mills

2. Missing dependency for SimGoober's Peanut farm- the building on the lot does not show up.

3. Missing something for the CSX Malta waterfront set- a few of the lots are missing the buildings.

Any help is very appreciated.  Thank you! 😊

Windows Defender is doing this with the BriPizza site now for over a year I believe. You can bypass it I think if you right click onto the download link and choose the "save as..." option.

Now this is a bit more complicated. I can not narrow it down just by the look of the image. It has many dependencies listed in the readme and those dependencies are under revision. For sure you can find all the dependencies for the Malta waterfront and you can also find the BSC MEGA Props CARCH vol01 v2 and the BSC Textures vol03 v3 in the

SC4D LEX Legacy - BSC Common Dependencies Pack V6*

*bear in mind that the dependency compilation is currently still under development and it gets semi-regular updates. For example the release of the version 7 will happen in the following weeks as soon as I manage to clean-up the last bits for it.

Ah, thanks for the info... I've been on the site searching but haven't had to download anything for a long while. Edge will also let it download using the 'Keep' option.

Had a question about this related to the Chelsea Mill post above...

Is it possible that the Texture vol3 v3 may not be contain the necessary dependencies? When using just the Common Dependency Pack (with the included Texture Vol3 v3 pack), the Mill does not display all of the texures. It looks like @jonnboy1976's image above. I had to use the texture file in this pack (link) to get the cement textures to show. Or maybe there's an updated Chelsea Mill download that I don't have...?

Thanks

Thank you @Tyberius06.  You're awesome.

Another question, which I think I know the answer to, but would like to ask to be sure-  Most of the files in my plugin folder are DATpacked. What's the correct/best procedure for using Cleanitol (such a great app!) when DATpacked files are involved?

I need to dig deeper into this question, I think. I thought that the BSC Textures vol03 covers it (because the original release of the BSC Textures vol03 - before my involvement - already contained those base textures from the Chelsea Mill upload). But I think you also needs the base textures from the older version of the NCD Railyard textures. I remember 2 years ago I was messing around to update the lot with the recommended re-IID version of the NCD Railyard textures, but that version actually never left my HDD as it was originally done for my private version. It was 2 years ago, I need to double check what's going on with that upload.*

*Ok, so I quickly loaded the original lot out of the installer. For sure, the missing base texture is coming from the NCD Railyard Textures Mega Pack v1 - ONLY THIS particular version will work, the newer v1.02 is not good as it is using updated instance IIDs. However if you are an RRW user, that I assume you are, based on your pictures @jonnboy1976, then it is highly recommended you to download one of the most recent RRW Reskin versions or the 202302 RRW 3rd Party Lot Support v2.46 (which is the lot support for the original brownish RRW colour). The RRW lotsupport and the RRW Reskin(s) are both containing the full set of the NCD textues for both versions of the Volume 1 (the Volume 2 aka Railyard Mega Pack 2 DOES NOT HAVE RRW version it was never converted to RRW textures though according to the RRW developpers it is planned eventually, but those textures were literally not used on any publicly released contents in the past 14 years as far as I know). Bear in mind that when we'll rehost the JB Chelsea Mill it will use the updated v1.02 NCD Railyard textures and not the currently used old ones. I'm checking all the LEX related contents regarding this matter and change all the old textures to the new textures as that was the wish of north country dude back then, but by the time his update had come out nobody really wanted to go through on the affected lots again to replace the textures.

IF you have the original non-datpacked versions (which are always recommended to keep in a safe place as a back-up after the DATpacking process), and you did not mess around with the DATpacked files (I mean you did not post edit them after you datpacked the files), then move the DATpacked files out into a safe location, move the non-datpacked versions back to the plugins, run the cleanitol, then DATpack the folders/files again. Test it. If it's working properly, then you can keep the freshly datpacked version and if you don't need delete the old DATpacked versions.

Is there any tool which can tell me how many power plants and of what type are there in a given region?

I think that the census programs as such don't have that capacity. :lost:

I've got about a million citizens in my region now, about 140,000 or so per city.  Each of those cities has a very high demand for low-wealth Commercial Service jobs.  I use the "Less Abandonment" mod, so I have a healthy population of low-wealth and medium-wealth sims, and a not-too-excessive amount of high-wealth sims.  I've got a lot of Mattb325's commercial service buildings that offer several hundred of mid-wealth or high-wealth commercial service jobs.

However, I'm struggling to find high-density low-wealth commercial service jobs for my level 8 cities.  Are there lots/buildings out there that, like Mattb325's various mid-wealth commercial service hotels, offer a decent amount of low-wealth commercial service jobs?

I assume that satisfying that need will help my city, but it seems that the only buildings that satisfy it are low-density or smaller commercial shops that quickly get replaced.  I'd like to get a building that can satisfy several hundred low-wealth commercial service jobs for a level 8 city, if possible.  Like a low-wealth hotel or something?  Anyone have any ideas?

Yeah, there aren't that many buildings in that particular segment, specially big ones.

One that I tend to use a lot because it blends really well in all sorts of cities is this one by JasonCW (you might think of it as a cheap hotel or something like that):

You can use it alone or accompanied with the low rise store and parking lot, but that doubles the footprint.

JumpTheFence's New York CS$ buildings can also be great for this, even if they are rather small, because you can repeat them liberally without attracting much attention to them:

https://community.simtropolis.com/profile/247743-jumpthefence/content/?type=downloads_file

Now, if you want an authentical low wealth commercial sink, Glenni's has your back with this sizable tower, though it's made to grow only with CAM:

I found a building that has over 7,000 low-wealth commercial service jobs:

I plopped it into my city, several times.  Sure enough, after a while the demand for low-wealth commercial service jobs went down (it actually cratered).  Moreover, as expected only sims from low-wealth apartment complexes went to work there.  The jobs graph adjusted accordingly as well, reflecting the new employment.

While a building like this might be useful, I wonder if the game distributes jobs differently among high-wealth commercial service jobs.  What I mean is, isn't it true that a building that offers 500 high wealth commercial service jobs in truth really offers like 100 low wealth CS jobs, 200 mid-wealth CS jobs, and 200 high wealth CS jobs?  There's a split among wealth levels at some point, right?  Or that low-wealth sims don't need a low-wealth job, but can be satisfied working at a mid-wealth job even though that's not their base preference, right?  I forget which scenario, if any, is true.

In any event, Glenni also offers a more modest low-wealth commercial service lot satisfying 600 jobs:

The Mehelia Tannet is a CAM stage 14 growable lot.  I edited it to make it a stage 8 lot.  If it grows, there's an obvious need for it.  But I'm happy if it doesn't grow at all.  Low-wealth commercial service lots might be better satisfied by Taylor House's 600 jobs instead.  We'll see.  The game will know what's best to grow, now that I have it.  I'll have to see if it starts popping up all the time due to the high demand...

matias93,

I was typing my response when I guess you responded at the same time.  I had managed to find that 7,400 job Glenni lot and was writing about how I tested it out when you responded (I buildingplopped the growable version to test it out).

The funny thing is, I also have those NYBT lots you mentioned, keeping the growable only versions.  They NEVER grow though.  I think the game just prefers to build the higher-wealth lots because the low-wealth job lots can only be used by low-wealth residents.  I have about 20-30% of my city consisting of low-wealth residents, so it's not enough to justify building those lots when instead they can go to my industrial jobs instead.  I wonder if I got rid of all industrial lots, the game would grow those low-wealth commercial service lots because there's be nothing else to employ those sims?  Or maybe they'd just end up as endless commuters....?

Hello all,

Does anyone have a link to a site where I can download the dependency 'VIP Delecto Ploppable People'?
There seems to be hosted on SimCityChina but unfortunately they do not accept new registrations.

Thank you in advance.

Hi there!

I was checking out the other day what smaller single dependencies we have that we did not upload yet, to the new SC4Evermore site and this one is one of them. I try to sort these out in the coming days and we will upload them to the new site, so please check back later this week.

G'day again,

The AGS Azusea Stadium.

In the file description on Simtropolis before I download the file, it says that no dependencies are required.

I checked this stadium in the Lot Editor and all the props (including the dpbluseat props) appear to be there. I hover over the seats in the upper stands on the high side and both ends of the lower stands which are on the other side of the soccer field. It highlights what the props are with a file number (0xb16e2a18---dpbluseat1).

But in the lower stands, although the same props are there, it doesn't highlight them as described previous.

I plop the stadium and the upper stand seats on the high side and the seats at both ends of the lower stand on the other side of the soccer field are there (beauty).

But those other seats are not shown.

I demolished the stadium and the other related soccer fields, saved the city before exiting, deleted those files from the Documents folder, re-downloaded them into the Documents folder, entered my city and plopped the stadium, same result.

Have I missed something, like another dependency?

If so, where do I find them please?

The entire city SIM football/soccer sporting population is counting on this :-)

Cheers.

I checked this stadium in the Lot Editor and all the props (including the dpbluseat props) appear to be there. I hover over the seats in the upper stands on the high side and both ends of the lower stands which are on the other side of the soccer field. It highlights what the props are with a file number (0xb16e2a18---dpbluseat1)

I think @scba forgot to include a model+prop combo and it went undetected for almost 18 years. The prop that you are missing is the bluseat1-0x6534284a-0xb0af0715-0x515fd89d.SC4Desc and the belonging model. It should be in the upload, but it is not there. There's nothing that any of us can do.
