Yes that's been happening about the half the time I've uploaded a Banished file into the club ...

@Cyclone Boom was assuming it was a club problem and has been rummaging thru the club software looking for the cause of the problem ... no luck so far

... logging off and trying again when you log back in sometimes works, as does trying a different browser ... also sometimes rezipping it as a rar or 7z sometimes works ... a couple of files tho have had to be uploaded to Dropbox and then CB has uploaded them to the club for me

Nope. Tried 5 times. I guess I'll have to wait 3 months till CB comes around again to fix things. Great start to the year!

got the same message today. downsized file, went out and back in,etc. The way I read the error, it isn't a file but the total of all files I uploaded forever.

Can't see most images on the site today, including avatars, thumbs and site previews. 2 days ago, I could not access the site through my tab. Only by Google.

I have been having this same issue for the past 10+ hours. The part about the images, I mean. Not site access.

I attached some SC2 cities very late my time to a post, got that weird cloud flare error but otherwise fine and have just checked and someone has downloaded since I uploaded it

Hey guys, on mobile I'm seeing this happen - horizontal scrolling seems to have sneaked in when it shouldn't. I think there's a bad width setting somewhere.

This only started happening recently.

I mentioned this issue in the suggestion thread a few days ago.
Read through a few pages of this thread and seems like it's been an issue for a while.
So, just in case it could help, here's my unsolicited solution for the responsive issue.

The offenders are the 2 <hr> elements wrapping the "Simtropolis is a community for mayors of SC4 and all city-building games" text.

Both have these inline styles

That needs to be changed to this

Change the width to width:100% and add max-width: 575px

I often browse Simtropolis using my phone when I'm away from the desktop, so it would be really nice if it could get fixed.

It's a regular glitch in the site loses track of the file locations, plus things like people's avatars, @Cyclone Boom is going to need to pop in and fix the settings

Yes, this was the "storage config bug" again. All fixed now.

Looks like the site is either being updated or some of the assets are missing because images are loading 404 and downloads are not working.

(edit: yes I realised I posted about this last month, but considering the state of ST's server these days it's honestly not surprising that it didn't pop up for me at all)

 

Couple of issues on mobile. I remember this was fixed a while ago but it's come back again - the popup is very wide and the forums have a similar problem as well.

 

IIRC it was something invisible in the header pushing everything out.

About the mobile UI issue, here's my temporary workaround for anyone using uBlock origin on their phone browser:

community.simtropolis.com###ips_Layout_footer1>div>hr

Add that line to your filter (Dashboard > My Filters), and it will hide the 2 <hr> elements that broke the page and fix the issue.

Quick Update
Simtropolis is back + Mobile issue fixed!

The site was down earlier due to a more technically-involving case of the dreaded configuration reset bug.

After manual digging and probing the database, everything should be back to normal again now. There's nothing missing or any damage, as grim as it appeared.
(And no, we can't blame the solar eclipse.)

Apologies for not noticing this issue today sooner due to my sporadic activity lately. I really need to get to the bottom of this glitch to prevent it keep happening. It's totally unacceptable that it continues to resurface. I've a few ideas of things to try, so I just need to dig deeper and tests some things in the back end. For now I've made a couple of new tweaks to database processes, so maybe that'll help mitigate it. I believe a common factor is it being caused by increased database load.

Thank you all for reporting the mobile screen width issue with the footer section. That was a bad oversight from me while editing the footer initially. The usual case in coding where one small thing can make a massive difference. The trouble is the width was forcing that value, whereas now it's flexible.

I've now fixed this as per the CSS rules @bhmantan posted above. Thanks!

Hello Everyone, calling all Admins.

Since about yesterday I cannot see any avatar pictures and the gif images that I uploaded to my CJ, are flawed - only the name of the file and icons are displayed. Is this happening for everyone or is it just my system? Checked the page on Android - same.

The problem was corected. Now the site is back up and running. If there are any bugs please let us know

Simtropolis is back!  

Good news! A quick note to say the server migration has (finally) been completed.
In case of any slowness or issues, we're still working on fine-tuning, but the good news is that should be the last of the persistent downtime.

I'll update with a proper summary in the coming days.

Something to mention initially is we'll need to rebuild the search index. This explains why post feeds don't appear on profile pages right now. That'll be completed in time. It doesn't mean anything is missing (there was no data loss), just all sitewide posted content needs adding back into the index.
