Hello hello. :)

I have recently started developing a new region. It's an island set on a 2x2 large city tiles region, which will feature Japanese styled cities again. (until I get bored of it, which is not happening soon) The island is called Okushiri but doesn't have anything in common apart from being Japanese with the real Okushiri island, Hokkaido.

My main focus will be on rural and suburban areas on hilly terrain.

This first post will be the index of updates, current region view and various maps I'll be doing.

This looks lovely. Loving the overview and the landscaping on that island!

Looks like a fun place to build on.

Cheers

Looks good! There aren't many Japanese BATs available but luckily buildings in Japan tend to look the same.

Nice beginning for this new project. I really prefer to see small japanese town like this than huge metropolis.  I especially like the natural harbour. ;)

    Some replies. :)

Moerp: These are called Funaya apparently, and are from Uki-sim

Nikki29a, Supermessi: You'll have to be more specific about which buildings you are interested in. :) For a start, you can look through the Japanese websites. Also keep in mind some of these building are my own creations which I'll make available later this year.

Something I forgot to ask earlier...

    bfGprtd.jpg

Are the industrial-looking docks (and the crane) visible at the bottom of this picture available for download? If you know where you got them could you post a link please?

I also forgot to mention earlier that your work with slopes in this little town is quite amazing.

    Again some replies. :)

lilww34, it's the Sudden Valley Terrain mod.

MushyMushy, the docks are from Uki: pack 1, 2, 3 and 4. The cranes I don't remember where I got them, but I'm sure it's either from a Japanese creator (Nob or Somy maybe) or from Fukuda on the STEX. In the LE they're only named "CraneA" "CraneB" ..

    Hey Art!

The buildings i was looking for are:

-First close up pic: The two gray buildings on the left and, on the top of the pic, the residential orange and blue building. Also that soccer field (i think it is a soccer field?)

    - On the danshi next to downtown the Brown residential buildings.

    - On the last pic, the two residential complexes.

    Thanks ;)

Beautiful work. One of the most creative and realistic CJ authors we have. Your Asian cities and towns are wonderful to look at, it's not a style I can do well so credit to you for making it look so effortless.

Supermessi: Orange and blue apartment buidling is from Moonlight. Apartment complexes are from Somy. Golf course I don't remember where, Japanese website for sure but don't know which one. You'll have to be more precise about the "grey building" (like for instance, circle them in the picture..)

Pretty cool region your working with there. I'm liking the layout of your town so far and your attention to detail is quite impressive.

Thank you for the comments.

    Time for a new update.

Today we are going to see the second largest city of the island: Muroran. It is located at the south end of the train line, and is the last stop before the airport of the airport bus shuttle.

As usual, pictures are available in 1280x1024 with you click on them.

The region view. I'm making good progress with two tiles completely developed.

The port with its two old cranes. The municipality is thinking about upgrading to some new modern cranes.

Hope you liked this update too. :)

    I like it alot!

Unfortunately, for you, for me, and for a lot of persons, there are not many japonese residentials available, and therefore we tend to use the same midraises :S

Also, a question, why don't you use moonlight?
