Alright, here we go!

127175416_b2ab968f5f_o.jpg

This is my first actual working puzzle piece!  39.gif

It works perfectly - I had worried that there would be some problems involved with the multi-highways - not so!

Now I just have to make the avenue piece and the two one-way pieces.  This will definitely be included in the next NAM, as it is such a simple addition.  I may also see about a splitter piece so you don't have to use ugly one-ways to connect a normal highway to a split highway.

Yeah, the name's gonna be kind of awkward. I was thinking - "Road over Multihighway".

"Road over One Way Highway"?

I guess my post didn't go through 15.gif

But anyway, nice to see some multi-highway puzzle pieces. It will make them more friendly to use and set up and a great inititive to use them in your cities. Also, I remember when Teritsu made some one way highway Puzzle Pieces and released them but they aren't compatable with the latest NAM. Maybe you could make something of them. I'm not sure if the file is still there because of the 4.0 - 5.0 upgrade but it's in one of the NAM threads. (Not the request one.)

Those weren't any good, because instead of dividing the highway, he just took each piece and made a puzzle piece out of them, and some of those pieces have both left and right sides on them.

If the attachment is still there, though, I'll take a look.

Been looking through the pages, did Goaskin say something about invisible roads? I've added this to my (legnthly) list of projects to complete, and it seems unreasonaby simple (I discovered this by accident after I inserted a dead-end peice as a streight road peice). Just black out everything with an alpha channel.

Hi,

I'm making a new real-life interchange of one of the junctions of the M6. Here is the image of the junction in progress:

junction4mr.jpg

Is it possible to make interchanges larger than 16x16?

Constantina:

Somewhere in either the development or the general discussion thread it is said that a larger than 16x16 interchange / junstion is not possible. This is the reason why the 'diagonal dog ear' was designed the way it was, due to the limitations of the interchange size

(Hey, what happend to that development anyway? I don't think it was ever finished.....)

Sorry Carson.

-1st of Don't take that tone. People here choose to do what they like to do, so just be glad that anything is been done.

-2nd. Please use the request thread.

-3rd. It has been requested before.

-4rd. If you want it done, my best bet would be for you to do it yourself.

Great! It is something that has been needed for a long time! I dislike the Maxis one way junction as it doesn't repesent something that I would see on the UK network

Mighty Goose--> Not always the case. The junction that paulvmontfort has put together is exactly what some M6 junctions are like. Look at the A6 Lancaster South Junction (J33) or Stoke South Junction (J15) and you will see what I mean!

You can also see many examples of these on older interstates and turnpikes in the US. They are slowly being phased out by T junctions such as the ones in SC4.

I'm in favor of further development of this.

i have that same interchange near where i live it is known to be called the newlands onramp in nirongia gorge. but instead of it being avenue to highway it is road to highway interchange. those members of simtrop that live in wellington new zealand will know  where it is or even use it  often.

Alright! A trumpet interchange. Something that is badly (well not really 2.gif) in SC4. Then again I'm sick of using the directional T. Good work paulvmontfort!

That's odd..  Many new trumpets are being built here in IL in rural areas.  These are replacing older diamond-type interchanges, which were built assuming that the perpendicular road would be extended further beyond the highway on the other side.

paulvmontfort- I like that alot. Much better way to end highways then to just end them into an ave.

ALL- Maybe a groudn T for the ave would be nice too.

Very much needed, although the onramp for the northgoing(rightlane) seems a bit sharp for beeing an accelerator feild, or even a deacelerator feild of its a brittish design.

I belive it exits into an ordinary road right? might be an idea to make a version that exits into an avenue, that would be quite easy too since it would just be a continuation of the 4 lanes(2+2).

@paulvmontfort

maybe you should make 4 kinds of that intersection;

highway ending onto avenue

highway-highway

avenue ending onto highway

avenue-avenue

thanks

I think what Meastro said is what you should make, but the model itself is looking great! I also think that the accel lane is a bit sharp, but it'll still work.

A few miles up from my house on I-10, the US 60 junction was a trumpet. It's now a semi-directional T.
