# Hello;

 

- My name is Jonathan, and today I want to present you my biggest SimCity project. I have this project on my head since I started to play SimCity, even I started this project during the 2006 but I had to leave it because I couldn't get the result that I did want. I am a perfectionist and wanted to do the best New York in SimCity but I did not have the necessary knowledge level. During all these years I've been playing SimCity and trying to make better every single part of the game, more realistic and more visual, almost like a real city. Somebody maybe can remember my recreation of Berlin, or all my Japanese cities, even my first recreation Hong Kong, it had been quite successful here in simtropolis...during these last two years I have been working on my best project called "Windows on the World" with this project, I try to make real or imaginary places around the world and now it's turn to New York city. Now I have everything that I need to make the best recreation of this city, also I have a lot of new ideas to make this Recreation even more special, I just need all your support and all your advices to make this recreation even better.

 

 

- I decided start here this project because I am another NYBT member since it was created, and one of my main goals was to make this, a large window to show all the buildings created by my team mates. I just hope you can enjoy with this project, I just want to show New York city, my favorite city in the world, one of my dreams since I was a child and the main reason I started to play SimCity 4.

# In this topic we will see the current progress of the recreation. This will be a very slow recreation because I have to create and plop every single building, park or road and I spent a lot of time making the lots and even sometimes I need to create some little models on 3ds max, so for that reason please be patient, the result will be better and much realistic. I will try to update with every new picture what I have on my hands and when the city is large and it is evolved I will do major updates showing one by one the most famous and important points of the city, even I'm  thinking of creating a youtube channel to make the city more real, let's see what happen in the future with this.

First of all welcome back to NYBT. We have all admired your recreation of Berlin and I don't expect anything less than that to happen with NYC, in other words, I expect it yo be spectacular. 

 

Second thing is that I'd like to remind you that all of us, your fellow team mates, are at your disposal. We are more than prepared to help out in any way that you need us to, be it BATting or advice in recreating the city. 

I've seen some of your previews and I can't wait for you to show us more. Also, feel free to post this thread or link to this thread over at NYBT subforum.

# Okay the first images that we will see are focusing in the place that I'm working right now, It is the Lower Manhattan and financial district, more specifically in the area of the world trade center and the surrounding. I did a collage where you can see some pictures to make an idea:

# Now my work is focusing in the surrounding area. I did a normal quality model of the Millenium Hilton Hotel in 3ds max, it has night lights and it looks good in front of the world trade center, but I'm not sure if this should be uploaded to the STEX because the model is not High Quality, anyway if you want I can upload the building or whatever...I also did the St. Paul chapel park with all tombs and trees (I will make an update focusing in this chapel in the future) and finally today I did the Zuccotti Park and also the lot of all surrounding buildings, of course I created the Sculptures of Park as well.. So this was the work of these days, now I will work on the Battery park zone and try to finish the World financial center.

(P.S. The Millenium Hotel looks okay, of course, you can re-export it in high quality in another day and upload it in STEX, it looks fantastic!  And also, if you could, you can upload your re-lot of the WTC to the STEX. Sure, it's just a re-lot, we don't need to give permission to the authors. The only time we need to ask permission to the author is if we need to include the original model file. )

One of the things I love about NYC is the neiighborhoods, with the brownstones and row houses, and avenues lined with little shops. Nice work on Manhattan.

- Okay today I worked a little bit in the surrounding of the World trade Center, I finished some lots and then I added some new building to the zone. For example 130 liberty street (Deutsche Bank Building) is placed now, also I did the lot of the St Nicholas Greek orthodox church located pretty close to South Tower of the World trade Center.

Beautiful update once again! Personally, I love the old World Trade Center complex over the new one. It seems to have that kind of feel you don't get from the new towers. They were a great pair. It's a shame they're gone now though.

P.S. About uploading the re-lot of the WTC, we don't care about the dependencies! We will download them all, and it'll be worth it!  And a re-lot is usually about 200KB+ in size, so it's not huge!
