Red, if you send me that future-like eco building I think I could finish it for you. I have some ideas of my own for it! :)

I think some people were posting about it above: Reddon moved over to SC4D for various reasons a little while back. If you want to ask him about that building (which I thought was pretty awesome as well) you should probably post a message on his thread there; I don't think he checks for replies on ST anymore.

That's so nice showing up again. It's something good when - from time to time - people who did so much for this community simply say 'hello, I'm doing well'. At least me - I miss people like you.

Now you brought even a present for us - and this is also very kind.

So very first I have to say: thank you.

The building looks absolutely great. On the third picture on the darker grey texture (in this picture on the left) the texture looks moiré, meanwhile on the second picture it doesn't, so I'm not shure, maybe it's only a result of the jpg-compression of the picture. Same with the water texture of the pool (on second picture it seems moiré but not on fourth).

Including palm trees in the model may limit usability to regions with mild climates while leaving it to props/lotting offers the possibility to adjust this to personal needs.

One may say that's nitpicking. And yes, it is. It is like with looking pictures of beautiful women. Just to hide you are overwhelmed by her beauty, just to show you aren't breathless and instead cool and  a 'total professional' ... you open your mouth and say something like 'but her ears are a little bit small, aren't they?'

So this might be the case also here. I'm already too much in love with this bat to make a serious comment.

The field is interesting - I can't recognize what sports it is for. But I'm curious to know.

    Hi Fantozzi!

Yes, thanks for that.. I agree about the dark grey granite. I deliberately made the pattern more visible to accentuate the speckle in the stone, but you're right, I didn't notice it looks a bit repetitive on the highly reflective angle. Speaking of which, I also made the dark granite highly polished as it is in RL, but again, I've overdone it on some angles. I didn't notice the pool tiles either until you mentioned it. Thanks for your feedback, its very helpful *:thumb:

    I will fix!

Oh, btw I'm pretty sure the court is basketball, but I don't really know sports very well.

I don't know which one is better, this new model or you appearing here on ST again :)

If it helps, I was taking a look on Google Earth and I believe the court is futsal - like football, but played on a court - basketball and volleyball. It's very common to have courts with these 3 sports marking lines here. So in the middle of the court there's a circle useful to futsal and basketball instead of that rectangle (I noticed it looks like a rectangle on GE but it's probably distorted there). In the blue and green areas there are the keys from basketball. Also there are 2 futsal goals and 2 basketball hoops in each side *:)

Looking great, the brick or concrete material seems too reflective..its reflecting the pool scene etc..

Would be great to see some activity on those balconies, the usual to bring it too life..chairs, tables, plants..otherwise, yup looks awesome and great to see you back here :)

Well, although the textures are slightly brighter than the original, condo buildings in many regions of Brazil are covered in ceramic tiles that are bright and reflect the sunshine which makes the building super shiny at some times of the day, in that sense that's a pretty realistic texturing ;)

Well then the reflections should carry on all the way through (e.g reflect a ground pane)..I would also imagine they wouldn't be as clear and would be duller and slightly distorted..by all means some pics would be great to see how much it reflects, I am sure I might be wrong :)

All I can say - when I opened this page I swear I heard my (sometimes underbreded) plugin folder suddenly smirking: "come on in,  cutie pie, I'll fly you to whatever city you want."

This is absolutely not a burning objection, but when I worked on this type of building I had the same predicament with the tiles. I ended up copying the tiles as the glossiness map (adjusting with a color correction map), so that the tiles were still glossy, but so that the reflections were broken up by the tile pattern. I hope that helps. Anyway it looks lovely.

I was having trouble getting the 2015 version to work with BAT4Max... I eventually gave up and started with the basic BAT.  In hind site it was probably a good thing, since it is giving me the opportunity to start with the basics.  But hopefully at some point I can jump on to 3dsMax and still get it to work.
    Fantastic modeling, BTW :)

I like the glow of the night scene. It makes it look very peaceful. The tower looks nice - good distribution of lit windows. Are they self illumination or do you have interior lighting set up?

He's back!!!  The undisputed king of BATs as far as I'm concerned.  I literally fell in love with Melbourne's architecture because of your work.  What's next?  Federation Square?  Docklands condos?  Crown casino?

Could you share with us what the "tweak" to the script was? This sounds like a rather important discovery you've made.

    Cheers, tiger
