Wooow, that's beautiful! This looked familiar, so I searched the STEX and bingo:

 

 

...the BAT is very loosely based of a couple of buildings in Australia and i deciided to give it the AON logo cause it looks cooler with a logo and also one of the buildings its based on has the AON logo...

 

Guess I know one of these Australian buildings now, the one that has the AON logo.  Do I spot a sunken plaza in the back?

I really like the roof and the sunken plaza. All the mechanical roof junk looks excellent. Will you be adding any props like benches or more flora to the plaza?

Twrecks - I thought Scotty did this one already! I looked before I started and only saw the in Sydney (MLC Centre is the 2nd building Scotty based his BAT on - now you know both ). I didn't notice he also did an 'inspired by' version a few years earlier. Sorry Scotty (if you're still around?) hope you don't mind

 

Correct, Nauru House sits above a sunken plaza, which I need to do a bit of artistic license on to fit into an SC4 lot size (3x4 btw). Yep TCD, it will have more furnishing once completed

 

Roger - You have prompted me to do a WiP list (A.K.A Shame file ). I've left a few BATs behind in my wake of destruction...

 

321-333 Flinders Lane: Needs texturing. Not sure why I haven't got to it yet. I haven't made it a priority.

 

 

162-186 Collins Street: As above.

 

 

459 Collins Street: This one is in Stex-Phobia-Limbo*

 

 

Yarra River: I lost a bit of motivation when I lost one of the sections in a crash. Hope to pick up again soon.

 

 

 

Crown Metropol: I blame Roger for pointing out the roof and entry are completely wrong . Hopefully I'll come back to it again soon.

 

 

Federation Square: Only in really early stages of build. Trying to muster the strength to face it again...

 

 

Forum Theatre: I lost motivation when all the detail got lost in the render. Hope to pick up again soon.

 

 

That futuristic building I made: Unlikely to be completed. Sorry

 

 

Grand Hotel: Started but shelved. Hopefully pick up again soon.

 

 

Hogsmeade Station (Harry Potter Project): The method of batting every brick individually did my head in. Hope to pick it up again soon.

 

 

 

Parliament Station: This one is in Stex-Phobia-Limbo*

 

 

Prima Pearl: Prototype stage only, trying to work out how does one model a building that is concave at the base but convex at the top. Hoping Roger can get some Near Maps for me soon

 

 

PWC Building: This one is in Stex-Phobia-Limbo (Although, I'm starting to think the glass is too dark so might do some more work on this one)

 

 

Russell Street Police Head Quarters: I lost motivation when all the detail got lost in the render. Hope to pick up again soon.

 

 

Southern Cross Station: In progress. I've done the roof but not sure I like it... Give me some encouragement please

 

 

St. Paul's Cathedral: Slowly working on the statues. They take ages to make but they're barely visible in the renders so its not very motivating.

 

 

Yarra's Edge: Towers 1,2 & 3 are completed. Tower 4 is mapped out just need to keep going with it.

 

 

 

* Stex-Phobia-Limbo (Trademark pending) : A state of existence in which a BAT is ready for release but it's author can't bring his (or her) -self to publish their BAT on the STEX due to the insidious troll infestation.

 

Hopefully I'll get over it soon and release some more stuff (or less likely, the powers-that-be might abolish that hideous rating system )

Wait... you are producing buildings at this quality level that constantly blow people away, and you don't release them because of idiots who can barely muster enough skills to click an obviously ridiculous 1-star rating?

 

You know what, if someone asks "can anyone recommend some good skyscrapers and stuff?", by this time someone is bound to answer "don't forget reddonquixote's BATs, they're absolutely amazing!". Same when someone asks for Australian stuff.

 

Do you really think that when the previews come up, anyone will even look at the star rating? Their face will look and their mind will feel and after they have downloaded, they will be  and you for making and sharing these BATs.

I have to struggle here and say hello to you, Jay. It's no longer so free and easy for me to log in and post a reply here, nor is it for thousands of SC4 players from China mainland. The Chinese great firewall has blocked us from all internet resource connected to Google service that proxy is the only way now.

I hope all the projects will go well and you still enjoy BATting. There're still so many projects in your to-do list. I wish one day we could dl them all...I would spare no efforts to get them for sure.

This line is actually very true. Whenever I see something related to Melbourne on the STEX, I'll look and see that it's a Reddon production. At that point, I download it and install it into my plugins immediately... Frankly I could care less what the star rating is, since everything Reddon makes is a 5/5 in my mind.

Yeah screw the trolls reddonquixote! You made some of the best BATs of last year and every big player in the CJ scene uses your BATs because they are so darn good. Not only that you went overkill with creating small city block BATs which had both the skyscraper and the surrounding buildings. Again screw the trolls.

These are some of the best BATs that I've ever seen. It would be a shame to not release them. I would take a lot of them as they are right now even the futuristic building which is a shame that you don't want to release it. This is always one of my favorite bat thread and I always try to find a place for your building in my big cities.

About half those BATs are on me to them completed.....will get on them right away     

I will say about Prima Pearl that I am waiting for nearmaps to get a good pic of it, as being recently completed they don't have the best pics yet.

Now for the biggest and what will be an intensely debated topic for a very long time, and that is those pesky trolls!! Having a rating system is in theory a very useful way of improving and providing people with the easiest way to the best content. However, there are those that rate lower because of their jealously or as payback for something that has wronged them.

As you can see from the amount of comments and love that you have received from showing your WIP that they are always valued and always appreciated by the nerds of SC4    

 

So please get them on the STEX

All those Stex-Phobia-Limbo buildings look like they're in perfect condition and ready for release, although that is just my opinion. You've got such an amazing pipe-line of buildings lined up, I can't wait to see your progress! Every building is certainly worth the wait!

Don't forget that a person rating something you uploaded with 1 star is actually a person confessing utter defeat to you. How so?

 

Well, if they could do better than you, they would (and then they wouldn't feel a need to "attack" you in any way). But they can't. So they feel inferior.

If they could become as popular as you, they would (and then they wouldn't feel a need to "attack" you in any way). But they can't. So they feel inferior.

If they had anything that you don't have, they'd enjoy it (and then they wouldn't feel a need to "attack" you in any way). But they don't. So they feel jealous.

If they had good arguments to face an open confrontation with you, they would do so. But they know they would't stand a chance. So they feel bitter.

 

It all boils down to a person saying "Look, pal - you do better than I do, you have more than I have, and there's nothing I can really do about it, so all that's left for me to do is give you 1 star". My advice is: Take this star as a medal. Because it shows that you're good at what you are doing.
