Working on the Singer Building.

I remember that @JP Schriefer had a quite advanced model of the Singer bldg, but you know, real life catches with all of us eventually :(

What I'm working on includes a little Mythbusting.

Myth: When Moonlight's Japanese Streets were added to the NAM, the T21 mod was 'broken' or 'botched' by the NAM team somehow.

Fact: Moonlight created his streets as a SAM-9 override, they were later added as set 10 in the NAM, but the T21 mod was simply never updated for SAM-10. You can still use Moonlights original SAM-9 override and the T21 mod works like it always did:

SAMA_T21.jpg.91b0d1826862359ccbb68b422628ed76.jpg

Or you can spend 45m changing hundreds of 9's to A's in Reader, (actually I didn't use Reader, I had a slightly quicker method), so now the T21 mod works with SAM-10 from the NAM after like 12 years!

Would love to release this for others, but it's technically unchanged from the original, except the ID alterations, so I'm not 100% on whether that's OK. But if I get the green light, I'll upload it somewhere for others to make use of.

That's really good news! For some reason even by reinstalling the SAM9 mod I was not able to have it work properly. But tbh that was probably me doing something wrong.

As far as I see it, It's totally OK to upload a corrected one.

If you want you can probably contact Moonlight on his blog he does post there occasionally (last update from 09 2021) but I don't think he even does SC4 work anymore at all.

Though the myth is still partially true seeing as the version distributed in the NAM doesn't have all the features.

I would disagree, since it was not the NAM team that decided to originally make the mod a SAM9 override. Sure, at any time someone could have done the work I did last night to 'port' the T21 mod to it's new slot, however no one ever did. Not to mention, we'd never include anything in the NAM that requires external dependencies, that's always been a golden rule. Since we'd have been very unlikely to get permission to include the dependencies, whichever way you look at it, the T21 mod was always going to be an optional add-on/mod and nothing to do with NAM directly.

I have a friend in Tokyo who can ask on my behalf in Japanese if need be, though I suspect he speaks some English? But I agree it's probably OK, I just held off uploading it until I can clarify the situation with the Admins here. Although if I can get explicit permission, that would be the better solution.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

I'm still doing it at a snail's pace *

thing is I like this building a lot and every time I discover how some parts of it were or even its real dimensions I have to re-model part of it. Some months ago I finally managed to know its dome real angle and height, so a lot of work to do again. My release forecast is then 2145, so it's good to see other people working on it too. @Seraf was also working on a model, but unfortunately he's inactive for more than a year on SC4Devotion now.

I'm going to stop exporting BAT's for an indefinite time, the war in Ukraine has hurt me personally and financially as I have several co-workers/friends and clients on both sides. I am from Colombia and I live in Colombia but still this affects me.

I hope all this is fixed soon but I see it very complicated.

I've data packed the majority of my plugins, 64,000 files down to 6,000. My loading times have gone from 40 mins (I know!) to 10 mins and my saving issues are for the most part gone. This is a vote for Datpacking!

Anyway here's a bit of Muscrow I'm working on.

NO Politics at this Board please. This is a Page about a Game.

Otherwise i could talk about all the Wars, that the USA started, without any Reason and without any Sanktions.

Thanks, Oliver

I try to nuance, attenuate, soften ... the waves, uh no, the ripples. And here is where I am, if you have experimented with modifications of the RippleProperties exemplar, I'm interested.

What is good when you have nothing to say is that you can always pretend to listen. Anyway it does not prevent to think!

Datpacking can be a 2 bladed sword. It can save space and confusion, but sometimes, things get welded together that you might later regret(sometimes by the creator). Need an Un-DatPacker too.

Indeed, that's right. If you want to discuss this kind of topics, you can open a thread on the Current Events sections, or comment on one of the already existing threads there.

To keep the forums organised and clear to navigate, we'll be moving all further comments on political issues to Current Events.

How so? Do things go missing?

Gotta say I'm loving these shorter loading times!

As always, one lot on the street continues to frustrate me, 2000 game years have passed...

Sometimes you bundle things that you use a lot, with things that came along with it, that you use rarely or never. The initial elation of eliminating the clutter can blind you to this. And all those little extras you don't use clog menus. And I have dl'ed datpacked items with things in them that I just can't get rid of.

It's from a set by Dexter, but be warned due to their age, the odds of the TEing (Station Modding) being anything like modern standards is very low. Too late tonight, but I'll check and fix them up if needed tomorrow.
