What I'm working on? Adding @mattb325 buildings to my city ... which can be considered as a fulltime job ;-)

Looks fantastic!  If I ever play the game again, it will be possible to make an entire city out of his content alone. I'll call it Mattropolis!

Here is Monday's house a midcentury modern with slanted roofs. I won't get done with Tuesday's today, I got a late start. Here is the beginning of it. It has some interesting domes. I want to call it neo-colonial, I'm not sure if there is another name for the architecture.

I would also call that style or those elements neocolonial, and it's always interesting to see that variety of elements present in self-constructed houses in Latin america, which are actually the norm and have never been adequately represented... until now!

This thing is pretty large (11x16 tiles), should be rendered soon and then onto nightlights + lotting a full airport (which is something I've never done before, lol)

WOW that looks amazing @mattb325, I really like it!!  Have you thought of making one without the French flags so that the building can be used in other locales or "generically"?  Seems like it could be used as an office building/corporate headquarters for a tech company, or a medical center, or a convention center too.

Hey Matt! what a work !!

I have a request considering that you're now working on it and only if you want to do it: Can you render and upload a mirror version of it? I mean, the mirror copy that you can do with 3dsmax. The reason for this request is to be able to have the option to make a larger airport terminal taking advantage that you already have the model.

In any case thanks a lot for your works as always.

ohdude.

That's an impressive job with smashing the grid that you've done there. The urban fabric looks so smooth that one has a hard time figuring out what's diagonal and what's FAR. And with more of your FAR buildings surely coming it will only get better and better.

Amazing work Matt, I would just make all the flags point to the same direction :)

wow, broke my brain a little bit, but looks incredible.  The parking fillers really help and I'm really impressed by how they blend in so well with everything else.

Not on that upload. It will be available as a separate zip very soon.

@Simmer2I have a question about this kind of station: How do you enter the train in the oposite side of the build ing? You simply dont?

Plus: How do I take better screenshots?

I made a rookie move, I found two of my uploads were bad. A substation relot of mine was crashing my game when I exited the lot query window and needed immediate action taken. The override file contained in the DL was fine, just the relot was bad. Updated today https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/34186-kk-transformer-substation/. Bulldozing of any lots placed must be done before removal of old lot file.

Also I found that my other substation pack below was never working. I could not save the backup files, so remade the lots. This will also need redownloaded

Please remove the old files and redownload this pack for a working copy.

I am very sorry for the errors and any problems it caused.

@thecitiescenter - the flags are a tough one. With the tight lods, I also intend to make this a cruise ship terminal + convention center. Without the flags, the roof structures look pointless and the real building has dozens of flags flying. I rather like the french flag (it brings back happy memories of good friends and time spent in france in my 20's and 30's), but if there is a neutral flag that the majority of folks would prefer, I am open to suggestions. I did also experiment with just an aeroplane symbol as the flag, but the fabric folds hid the plane symbol and it looked weird.

Hey @mattb325 no worries, I'm looking forward to seeing it in game either way!  Though my vote for "neutral" flag would be the Union Jack ofc. *

Thanks guys

@Girafe - well spotted (I'll be rotating them the one way prior to rendering....crazy cross-winds like that tend to bring down aircraft!)

@ohdude - I'll see how long it takes to render (each preview takes about 30 -40 minutes, so with maxis nite and dark nite, I'm assuming this will tie up my PC for well over  24 hours) if it's not too painful, I will look at a mirror version

Anyhow, something a little bit different and unique.

10 years ago, JBSimio made some pedestrian overpasses as part of his university pack. They never saw the light of day, and so I have based a new set from these.

These can be placed across an avenue (or any other two tile wide viaduct on land) AND they can be placed on in game water: which makes them a good deal more useful than just plain eye-candy. The bridges are all in a prop family (to save on menu clutter) and the one lot will work on land or water.

There is no base texture on the lot and it will conform to any of you favourite wall sets (or just MMPs). It will also straddle any network (not just avenues). So good for highways, rail etc, etc.

The bridges shown on water:

They all have nightlights

GV7N6K3.jpg

Get them, here:

I will make other widths such as single tile and four tile wide versions (plus other types of models), soon.

These are great! Thank you for making these. Very much needed.

Where can I find those retaining walls?
