I don't use them that much, but don't you need the right puzzle piece of the type that you will go under. A avenue, the avenue puzzle piece, for the STR Siding, that one. And that one is now made. At least, as far as i"m correct.

and street for the streets etc. I know. :-) But : UH ? @Tyberius06 ?

Let's clarify the things a bit. Underneath lots only two kind of network can go by default:
- tunnel (roud, OWR, AVE, rail, MHW etc...)
- subway

The FLUP puzzle pieces allow corresponding vehichles to go underneath other networks or flat terrain, pedmalls, but for example with FLUPs you can NOT go under LOTs either. The FLUPs are network based puzzle pieces, not LOTs, and there isn't any kind of FLUP for STR or sidings or NWM pieces etc... Only the base networks have by default FLUP compatibility. So you can place FLUP pieces around a LOT, the vehicles won't go underneath the LOT, the route will be broken when it leaves the last FLUP piece and reach the LOT.
BUT...

What I achived there is that I made a custom path (copied belonging sc4 path file from the FLUP routes underneath straight DTR puzzle piece into a new DAT then, I swapt the related DTR paths to the default straight STR paths and gave it a new instance ID) which I used on one of Simmer2's STR sidings. He already TE'd (Transit Enabled) the lot to work with STR lines, therefore the trains can pass through on the lot, but I changed this path ID on two of the locations (from right on the 4th and on 15th tile) with the new path. Which still allows the trains to use the STR track, but also let the other type of vehichles to pass through underneath the lot. Also I needed to allow these vehichles to use the lot, so I needed to set new transit switches up for cars, buses, freight trucks, and also for GLR. So it's not a new FLUP piece, rather an advanced Transit Enable modding-type.

With this method you maybe able to make any kind of LOT, and make it Transit Enabled to work with FLUPs, you just need to find the necessary path files, or make one in special cases. I used a similar method (and that gave me the initial idea) on one of the upcoming GLR stations where the GLR ramp allow you to connect to the FLUP network.
I'm gona make other experiments on this, to see how it works...

I hope it helps to understand what I did. It could open up some serious custom lotting works, but I'm still experimenting to see how these stuffs work.

Now I'm using your fuel terminal, I noticed that gap in the corner with a pipe, as if I can connect another piece. Is this for future purpose?

Wonderful - I'll give that a 4GB patch a try on it. Good idea using screen capture rather than export too.

Thanks @redfox85!

We need to make a list of how many active players are using this mega-region just to see all differences in terraforming / planning styles!

I don't use the Ring of Fire map, but I also use a mega-region, the Vancouver Region.  After reading these posts I went into Region Census and looked at mine.  I have developed so little of it lol.  Even half of it is still using my old water and terrain mods.

Three parts of my new, modular Orient series.
One of the houses, a bedouin camp and the city fountain.
It is already far more finished but I do not want to fill you with pictures

Bat, Gmax, or 3ds Max, I don't know, I really don't, but I will, sometime.

So, I don't know when I see land, or even see a harbor. Until then I am sailing the sea of tutorials.

What a journey this will be...

A little update.
An example of what you can do so far with the modules.
The mill is a power plant, the well is the waterworks.
Police and fire department are already on site.

@11241036 : since I don,t have access to the STEX today (but could upolad your lots from this thread, !) here's my comment : they're very nicely done ! Are they also slope-friendly  ? (in hilly or even mountainous areas, y'know...) But any which way : :thumb:

@tariely  Thank you. Unfortunately they are not really slope-tolerant. You can place them on slopes up to 50° (they will flatten the terrain at slopes higher than 20°). However, the main problem here are the hedges: I haven't been able to find hedge props that are both slope tolerant and come in various sizes, not just 16 or 8 m. SG's hedges unfortunately aren't slope-tolerant, and as far as I've experienced it, it doesn't even make sense to create slope-tolerant fences or hedges due to the way the game handles slope-tolerant props: If you place a hedge with the long side running from top to bottom, the hedge will adapt property, but it will also adapt if placed perpendicular to the slope - which makes it look like tilted by 45° which doesn't make any sense.

Since I have a hard time trying to express this in English, I've attached a small picture of how this would look like. I hope it's understandable, I'm no expert in making graphics, and I've done it in MS Paint. On the left column: It would look like this in LE. On the right column: It would look like this in SC4 when viewn from the right side.

It's quite interesting. Perhaps you should work more on the textures ? As of now, it looks too... cartoony (for me).

AH. Thanks for the visual aid ! I know you can change the slope tolerance of a lot in the L.E., but for props, of course... :-)

OK, so I tried your lots : none of the props show up, only the paths, trees and hedges. I used my TEST Plugins folder, with only the lots and the deps listed in the Readme. What am I doing wrong ?

A typical coal mine, as it was operated in Germany until the eighties.
Is still in its infancy and will probably need a few more days of work.
