I tried to fool my Sims. They moved in, had a look out of the window an started immediately to complain: "Hey, major, where is the beach? You promised us a beach view!" 

"The beach is still in the works," I said, "but look, this is original Matt design, it won't get any better." So they stayed. Pleased even without a beach close.
