1x1 Slope Conforming Wind Power Plant Without Grass Texture  1.01

About This File

This is a simple 1x1 slope conforming wind power plant without grass texture.

It has the same values and costs as the default wind power plant but with a reduced size.

I recommend you to not plop those power plants too close to each other because the propellers will go through each others and it won't look very realistic.

This is my first BAT so if you find any mistakes in values or stuff like that send me a pm and I will try to fix them!

Original idea : Cogeo

Batting/Modding : Leshan

* No dependencies.

Mac Users

The original lot does not work with the Mac version of the game. If you use a Mac, after installation, replace the original .SC4Lot file with the one contained within "Mac Fix.zip".

That's amazing, and something no one's ever though of doing! And it looks fantastic for wind turbines. 5/5!

Thanks a lot, this is really useful! Plus, it's great to see you taking in consideration some of the comments from your previous upload to help with this one.

Already done? Incredible!!!

It's much easier to use, because it can be plopped on any terrain without causing troubles, while still looking good. And yes, plopping them one next to each other won't be looking good (so the player will again have to leave one tile between empty), but as the lot is now 1x1 he can place for example 3 in a strip of land 5-tile long, instead of the 6 needed before, which along with the fact that it no longer causes flattening solves a lot of placement problems. I think you got the point of my suggestion.

Don't have the time to check the modding and how it fares ingame, I could only say that making a new model might have not be required (I think setting the Building Foundation property could have produced an effect like the one in the pic - not requiring a special model spanning underground - but I may be wrong). Yet, a chance to break into BATting :)

Very good job, if it replaced the maxis one it would be even better! Small bug with occupant size property, 2 reps missing but works fine ingame though

Nice job... But the bug with the occupant size property prevents me from using it, because I had CtD with other ploppable buildings with this issue. That is caused by the newest version of ILives Reader! Thank you anyway!

Thank you all for your comments!

I've fixed the bugs found by Magneto, but as he says version 1.00 works fine so you don't need to download version 1.01 if you already have the original file.

Thanks for this.  This is great!  The 1x2 size and slope changing feature of the default wind turbine always bothered me.

While a lot of areas where I see wind turbines (and there are getting to be more all the time!) don't have much in the way of slopes, there are indeed some hilly regions and canyons around here.  In any case, wind turbines do get built in hilly regions elsewhere.  Anything slope friendly gets my vote, and the removal of the grass is brilliant!  Nice job, Leshan! *:thumb:

Does this actually replace the original in game windmill in the menus?

When I plop the windmills they appear green instead of white.  It looks like a texture issue, but this file has no dependencies.  Any ideas?

I did some troubleshooting and discovered that the issue was from windmill skin mod:

Whenever I used the hardware rendered version of this mod, it turned the windmills green, whereas the software rendered version did not.
