About This File

Flinders Street Station is a passenger railway station located at the corner of Flinders and Swanston streets and services the entire Melbourne metropolitan rail network. Backing onto the Yarra River in the heart of the city, the complex covers two whole city blocks and extends from Swanston Street to Queen Street.

The main station building, completed in 1909, is a cultural icon to Melbourne, with its prominent dome, arched entrance, tower and clocks it is one of the city's most recognisable landmarks. Source: Wikipedia

This is my 9th BAT.

Flinders Street Station is a Fully Functional Train Station modular BAT, made up of Passenger Stations, Subway Stations and Non-Functional Landmarks. When combined, this BAT takes up a grid area of 25x7.

You only need to download either the Maxis night or Darknite folders, everything is included.

***UPDATE: Apologies, the Subway transition piece included in the original upload wasn't working. I have included as a separate zip file to download. Please unzip to the same location as existing piece and it will overwrite the broken file***

Pieces included are:
In the Landmark Menu
1) The Main building Prop - ploppable non-functional landmark, lot size 1x14, costs §110,000 to build.
2) A filler lot to sit under the long administration building - ploppable non-functional landmark, lot size 1x25, §0 cost & maintenance.
3) A filler lot - ploppable non-functional landmark, lot size 1x3, §0 cost & maintenance.
4) Eye-candy tracks, 1x11, §0 cost.
**Use 3&4 in place of functional lots and rails to create a pure eye-candy station. Delete either of these lots after downloading if you don't want to use them.

In the Rail Station Menu:
5) Passenger Rail Station - ploppable passenger station, capacity 40,000 passengers

In the Subway Menu:
6) Ground Rail to Subway transition - ploppable Subway station, capacity 40,000 passengers

Included in the package is instructions for the recommended way to set up.

(Or you can make your own configuration from the lot pieces.)

There are no Prop dependencies, although the Dark Nite version requires SimFox_Day_n_Nite_Modd.

Please visit my Melbourne BAT thread to see my upcoming projects.

BATs currently in progress are:
St Paul's Cathedral
National Gallery Victoria/ Arts Centre Spire/ Hamer Hall
Optus Centre

Wow, I cannot believe it's on the STEX as an actual, downloadable file! :golly: I've been following its creation throughout, and for now, there's nothing left to be said - except, perhaps, for my opinion that we are looking at one hot contender for BAT of the Year 2013!

Very impressive. The work on the detail is great (for example the texturing of the dome). I look forward to St Paul's Cathedral
