About This File

Description:
This is a set of 50 growable R$ lots using a variety of small low wealth homes.
3 prop families were created from the various Maxis low wealth homes and are included with this set in order to maximize the variety of each lot.
In addition, I created a prop family using OnlyPlace4's Wild West shotgun houses.
The included lot sizes are: 1x1, 1x2, 2x1, 1x3, 2x2, 2x3, 3x2, 3x3 and 3x4.
Each lot is modded with statistics equivalent to Maxis R$ values.
These 'neighborhoods' will only grow on the Chicago tile set (growth stages 1-3).

Compatible only with the digital version (1.1.641) of SimCity 4 (Microsoft Windows and Linux only).

Installation:
Simply unzip the file and put the entire 'SimCougs Old R$ Neighborhoods' folder in your plugins (don't forget the dependencies).

Developer notes:
I know, I know, you are all thinking "Holy stinkin' propbarf Batman!"
Yes, I realize the dependency list is extensive, but I like details on my lots, and these prop and texture packs have been hand-picked to offer the greatest bang for the buck.
As always, prop families were used extensively, so I guarantee you will not find the exact same lot twice (and if you do, you should buy a lotto ticket).
These lots were put together with my CJ New SorGun in mind, so they have more historical feel but they will not look out of place in your rural areas.
The smaller lot sizes have a fairly generic look and will blend together easily. Many of the larger lot sizes have some unique flair in order to add some character to your neighborhoods.
By mixing and matching the different lot sizes, you should be able to create completely unique low wealth neighborhoods.
I welcome any and all feedback, especially if it will make my future lot sets better. Thank you.

Special Thanks:
Thanks to OP4 for creating the BLAM blank, which was used as the model for these lots.
Thanks to the great BATers who generously shared their prop models - this set would not be possible without them.
Also, thanks for the gang over at SimPeg for all the suggestions and encouragement.

Staff Edit: Fixed dependency links.

Wow, this is right up my alley once again! I already use both CP's wonderful little houses (I have my own relotted versions, by the way) and OP4's Shotgun Houses, and I seem to have all the dependencies except for the WMP stuff and krashspeed's mailboxes (but even if I didn't download the latter, the lots wouldn't suffer that much).

I must say that I really like your lotting style. You manage to create sets of lots that look varied, but share an overall flair or atmosphere. I also like how you don't go all Disneyland with your lots (lush green lawns and pretty flowers everywhere), but make low-wealth stuff look interesting and pleasing to the eye, but still low-wealth.

Thank you very much for these wonderful lots - and 50 of them, too! Right where I appreciate them, stage 1-3 Chicago. Perfect! I tip my hat to you, sir.

Excellent lotting and a great selection of props and textures. I really like the variation that the prop families create -- they all look unique and interesting in some way. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for all the kind comments!

@TWrecks:  Thanks for the nice comment!  And you are correct, doing without some of the prop dependencies will not affect the lots greatly, you will just lose some of the details.  Although the mailbox props are top notch!  :)

@Kifflom112:  Mattb's houses are on my radar once I move into the 20th century, so stay tuned :)

@Oldrogue:  I'm so glad you are getting good results - thanks for your feedback.

I can't believe that I didn't notice this BAT until now! This is amazing, and fits right for the need of old houses, in many styles.

Great Work!! :thumb: (5/5)*25

Love this and all pre-revolutionary tile sets. I live in Fredericksburg, VA where most of action is in a 3-400 year old historic district so now my city can feel just like home :) The blue one with the green roof actually looks a lot like my house.
