About This File

65, 69, and 72 Bayard Street, Chinatown, Manhattan, New York, New York, United States

Welcome to the "Happy Corner" district of New York. Where Bayard Street meets Mott Street is the heart of Chinatown, home of the Chinese New Year parade and one of the largest Chinese populations outside of Asia (about 90000-100000 people). After major growth in the mid-1990s, the district is now settled down into a very gradual decline, probably, as a result of 9/11 businesses and apartments were relocated, creating higher rent prices. Earlier in 2009, a commitee was addressed to solve concerns about Chinatown. Everyone has their own opinions, positive or negative, about Chinatown. In my personal opinion, the people I've met there are friendly and you can't beat the fresh fish.

CS$ medium density buildings

I can't help but feel that you rushed these out before they were ready. All the textures should be dirtier, and, according to the picture you supplied, brick or stone, not solid color. I would suggest making a second version with better texturing because the models are great. 4/5

They look fine to me. The textures are definately solid color, but some of the textures could be improved but it still deserves the 5/5 I gave it.

Not quite as they are on the picture, but still, very nice apparts. Freshly painted like these, they could be CS$$ though. Good work, no doubt.

Kryptowhite hit the nail on the head - too freshly painted and nice-looking, compared to the picture. This sort of project was on my big list of things to do; I think you should have spent much more time on the texturing for these, and avoid using nightmaps for the lighting...
