About This File

Here it is: The urban agricultural solution.

Problem:Energy is expensive. It takes a lot of energy just to get that ear ofcorn from some field 50 miles away to the grocery store, then to yourplate. That energy costs a lot of money. Now, what if you couldstreamline food production by cutting operating costs by bringing theproduction closer to the customer? What if you could do this in a waythat brings good-paying jobs to the community, and do this while beinga shining example of energy-efficient Bright-Green development? Whilemaking food production substantially less harmful to the naturalenvironment by consolidating it in a better controlled, artificialsystem impervious to erosion, over-use and local climate, in effectremoving the process from the natural environment?

Where is the best place for this community-enhancing, energy-saving and environmentally sound farm?

Answer: The corner of 5th and Pine, near the grocery store and all the other industries in your city, of course.

How large a IHT area should I zone to see this awesome BAT popup? It's always more exciting to see them for the first time after they have been grown and not plopped..

I voted for that if I remember well. Very happy to see it on the STEX. I really like originality. The staircase on the side is fantastic.

SFOBB: No, actually I'm not from Seattle, I just picked two random common street names. mteach2000: I added the 4x4 detail about five minutes after you commented And BTW, the Lego-esque mall is next, might be a while though as I'm currently re-styling the urban farm for SimMars.

Andrew Crockes? (did I get that right?) Is that your name? This is an awesome idea. Very clever indeed, and it looks really cool. The architecture makes me think of Sid Mead, what with all the diagonal braces and heavy concrete proportions. Excellent job!

I love the nightlights, and I really love the logo, it's so late 70s/early 80s. This is a really interesting idea, and an awesome addition to your great profile. In the span of a couple months you've turned out to be the most unique and surprisingly prolific batters out there. Keep up the good work!

Actually Andrew Crocker is a friend of mine who, for a graphic design class project, created a brand for urban farm infrastructure. The logo stuff on here is based on his project, and we had been talking about making an urban farm for sc4 for weeks.

So presumably the food produced is genetically modified to grow in an unnatural environment ?? lol - excellent art work and a novel idea 10/10
