This is a pack of eight different buildings. Apartments like these can be found throughout New York City. There are four designs, each with two color/detail variations. Continuing my pattern of naming buildings after fabrics, they are called Dupioni, Mikado, Shantung, and Taffeta. These include custom foundations which will appear when the lots grow on sloped terrain. _______________________________________________ Lot Size: 1x2 Growth Stage: 6 Capacity: 93 R$$ Building Style: New York Power Consumed: 2 Water Consumed: 15 _______________________________________________ Dependencies: BSC Texture Pack Cycledogg V01 GM Props Vol 1 -

890 Park Avenue New York, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- One of Manhattan's great survivors, 890 Park Avenue is a house located in the Lennox Hill neighbourhood. In the Queen Anne style, this house was built as part of a row the 1880s and initially encompassed numbers 882-890. Including the basement, the house has five stories. The current exterior is largely unchanged since renovations in the 1900s when the first floor parlour was given over to offices. It is currently being restored to a single family, 6000 sqft home with an estimated value of $15M. In SC4 it is offered as an R$$$ row home on the NY & Chicago tilesets. It is slope tolerant.I have also modelled the basement garden area. Like all of my work, these are suited to both CAM and non CAM cities alike. Stats below: --------------------------------------- STATS R$$$: Lot size : 1x1 Growth Stage: 4 (Medium and High Density Zoning) Bulldoze Cost: $ 511 Capacity Satisfied: R$ 118 R$$ 64 R$$$ 28 Pollution: 1 (Air)/ 1 (Water)/ 4 (Garbage ) Pollution Radius: 5/6/0 Power Consumed: 6 Mwh Water Consumed: 14 Gal/Month Building Style: New York and Chicago Occupant Group: High Wealth Residential Building --------------------------------------- NOTE ABOUT DARK NITE vs MAXIS NITE: This download contains TWO model files; one for dark nite users and one for the standard Maxis nite. Glasshouse Cafe, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- Another one of those files where a single lot can provide a multiple of uses, the glasshouse cafe is a fictional bat that came about after I was asked to release (as a standalone prop) the table/umbrella/chairs that I use as part of making other bat scenes. The prop looked rather lonely on its own, so I batted the cafe to match. These sorts of cafes and restaurants were very popular in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries, when large areas of glass/glass roofing were really something of a status symbol (never mind the fact that air conditioning hadn't been invented yet!): often such structures were built on lakes or within lovely gardens: the idea was the pre-cursor to today's indoor/outdoor living. This bat is on a 2x2 lot and the glasshouse area and its deck overhang the back of the lot. The lot can be placed on water or land and is slope tolerant. As can be seen in the images, the lot is quite versatile: equally useable with in-game water, canals, ploppable water, ploppable rapids (in case your diners want to view kayakers being dashed upon rocks while enjoying champagne and canapes), hillsides, etc. MMPS can be placed underneath the deck area. The lot is found in the landmark menu and provides CS$$$ jobs. It therefore requires road access, water and power. --------------------------------------- STATS: Lot size: 2x2 Plop Cost: $776 Bulldoze Cost: $40 Pollution at Centre: 1 (air) /1 (water) /4 (garbage) Pollution Radius: 2/3/0 Demand Created: R$ 33, R$$ 22, R$$$ 8 Power Consumed: 1 Mwh Water Consumed: 6 Gallons Occupant Groups: Landmark; CS$$$. --------------------------------------- NOTE ABOUT DARK NITE vs MAXIS NITE: This download contains TWO model files; one for dark nite users and one for the standard Maxis nite. LaFayette Square homes, St Louis, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- These old world, colourful row homes hail from LaFayette Square in St Louis and were made as a request. These are Second Empire styled houses which were popular in the US from about 1865-1900 which borrowed from French Renaissance precedents: so you will see mansard roofing, decorative wrought iron trellis-work, dormer windows and other elaborate facade details. In game, these houses are 8m wide mid-wealth homes and have a number of colour variations in a family so you will get a different combination every time it grows. These buildings are also very slope tolerant. They grow on a 1x1 or 1x2 lot on the Chicago and New York tilesets only. Like all of my work, these are suited to both CAM and non CAM cities alike. Stats below (these are very similar to the Maxis Chicago T/S row-home stats). --------------------------------------- STATS R$$: Lot size : 1x1 / 1x2 Growth Stage: 5 (Medium & High Density Zoning) Bulldoze Cost: $170 Capacity Satisfied: R$ 54 R$$ 32 Pollution: 2 (Air)/ 2 (Water)/ 4 (Garbage ) Pollution Radius: 5/6/0 Power Consumed: 1 Mwh Water Consumed: 8 Gal/Month Building Style: New York & Chicago Occupant Group: Low Wealth Residential Building --------------------------------------- NOTE ABOUT DARK NITE vs MAXIS NITE: This download contains TWO model files; one for dark nite users and one for the standard Maxis nite. Ploppable Conifer Woodlands, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- In most of my images, you will see a lot of green space. Much of this green space is made from a few small lots that I created for myself years ago based on, and expanding, one of my favourite Park sets, the 'SFBT park set by Andreas' which was released about 15 years ago, but still holds up to this day for making large, unique and non-showy parkland spaces. I made these for myself years and years ago, as one of the things I often find with large parks is that have slightly 'wilder' areas and this simple 1x1 lot with a ton of prop families will give the wild look without repetition. If you rotate the lot while placing, you should really never see much repetition at all and could theoretically cover and entire map with it . While it fits in with the SFBT park series, being highly slope tolerant, it can also be used to fill tricky spots and elevation changes. I use it often and I have been asked for it on a number of occasions, so I thought I would package it up and release it. Thus, it is a bit of a take-it-or-leave-it lot. It is found in the park menu adjacent to the other SFBT park lots. While it will 'work' without the SFBT park set, you won't be able to query it without the SFBT essentials file as an absolute minimum. --------------------------------------- STATS PARK: Lot size : 1x1 Plop Cost: $ 23 Bulldoze Cost: $ 5 Pollution: -5 (Air)/ 0 (Water)/ 0 (Garbage ) Pollution Radius: 0/0/0 Park Effect: 30 over 15 tiles Landmark Effect: 20 over 10 tiles Monthly cost: $ 1 Power Consumed: 0 Mwh Water Consumed: 0 Gal/Month Occupant Group: Building: Civic; Park --------------------------------------- DEPENDENCIES: *BSC MEGA Props - CP Vol01.dat (https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1180) *BSC Mega Props - CP Vol02.dat (https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2790) *SFBT Park Set - https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/13824-sfbt-park-set-by-andreas/ --------------------------------------- To install, simply unzip the contents of this file into your plugins folder.- 2 Comments

Vandamm House, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- From the 1959 Alfred Hitchcock classic, North by Northwest, comes the fictional Vandamm House. It is so called, as it is the movie villain's (Phillip Vandamm) lair on the top of Mount Rushmore. This house never existed. However, it is often mistaken for a real house of Frank Lloyd Wright design. It is neither: to begin with the top of Mt Rushmore was considered so ecologically sensitive that MGM researches required special permits to visit the location accompanied by official US Park escorts, so building anything was certainly out of the question. Additionally, Frank Lloyd Wright was never hired to design the house (he purportedly demanded 10% of the film's budget for his fee). The house, as seen in the movie, is the creation of Production Designers Robert Boyle and his team who created a Frank Lloyd Wright inspired home. The interiors (and such parts of the exterior which would be visible in film close-ups) of the house were built on the MGM lot in Culver City as full scale movie sets. The rest of the house, including the long shots of the exterior, is merely trickery by matte artist Matthew Yurichich. In that vein, the BAT I have made (having seen it as a request here on Simtropolis) is faithful to the idea of the movie set design, but it is by no means a replica. This BAT is eye-catching and can be used as a Mayor's house in many different locations in your city: on steep mountains, overlooking ravines, over-hanging the in-game water oceans or rivers. Its placement is limited only by your imagination. In the images I have shown, you can MMP right up to the model and/or use MMP trails/park/plaza/ped-mall lots to visually connect the building to the road network. For best placement, level a couple of in game tiles by placing a few street tiles around, and then plop the lot so that the cantilevered balcony section juts out over the landscape. I have made this as a 1x1 non-conditional reward lot which acts as an extra Mayor's House. It will not over-ride the in game Mayor's House nor any of the many relotted versions thereof, nor any of the new mayor house rewards, and you can place both this and the in-game Mayor's House in the same city tile if you wish. Placing this lot will increase commercial and residential desirability needed to assist city growth. To enable the lot to be placed in remote locations, the building itself does not require either road access or power, but it does require water. There is no restriction as to how often this lot can be placed. Like the in-game Mayor's House, it is found in the Rewards Menu. --------------------------------------- STATS: Plop Cost: §1,000 Bulldoze Cost: §20 Monthly Cost: §15 Wealth: High Park Effect: 90 over 46 tiles Landmark Effect: 90 over 46 tiles Pollution at Centre:1 (air) /1 (water) /4 (garbage) Pollution Radius: 2/3/0 Power Consumed: 0 Mwh Water Consumed: 80 Gallons Occupant Groups: Reward; Mayors House --------------------------------------- DEPENDENCIES: There are no dependencies for this file. The various stunning MMPs that you see in the pictures are made by Girafe, CP, PEG, Chrisadams3997, Murimk, NBVC and Heblem. For those who don't have these in their plugins, I would recommend searching on each of these creators names both here and on SC4Devotion.com. You won't be disappointed. --------------------------------------- To install, simply unzip the file into your plugins folder. Enjoy your new lair.- 3 Comments
