Hi: I'm on IMAC RETINA Mojave And SimCity from AppStore ver 1.1.1 is this version (the latest on the APPstore) unavailble to NAM36? I used it previously when I was on SIERRA and it works just fine. I changed the drive with an SSD and lost everything I had before ... Downloaded NAM36MojaveWrapper and followed the instructions quite carefully. After moving the installer to the desktop opening it nothing happens, the only file which seems to change is Imac ▸ Users ▸ Danny ▸ Library ▸ Containers ▸ SimCity 4 Deluxe Editionsub2.cfg None the other files mentioned in the instructions is on my drive Any hints thanks?

I tried the updates for version 1.1.640 but the last one seems to fail every time (OS advises me) leaving me with version 1.1.638.0. I'm attempting to execute the IH-missing $$$ jobs fix 1.11 which hopefully will fix my stagnant cities. Any suggestions or help with this would be appreciated. System Details: SimCity 4-Deluxe (config for 2-cores), Win7 64-bit , AMD FX3850, 16Gb RAM, Radeon R290-4Gb GDDR5 Updates: EP1 & Update for BAT (incl. Gmax)

Economic Failure? | Cities: Skylines #78
CapTon posted a City Journal entry in Let's Play Cities: Skylines
Is this the direction we're heading in? -
Hi there, I'm currently writing a dissertation for university on what defines a "game", and would like some help with something (skip to the end if you want to know what piece of information I specifically need to complete my work). I have read through many academics on their works, from past to present (e.g. Johan Huizinga - "Homo Ludens", Roger Caillois - "Man, Play and Games", Chris Crawford - "The Art of Computer Game Design", Jesper Juul - "Half-Real" etc). One of the many occurring examples, that the more recent academics write in their works (i.e. Costikyan, Berger, Juul etc), on the topic of what constitutes not to be a game, is apparently SimCIty (the first game). For example, Greg Costikyan writes that: I have never played the first two SimCity games - I have only ever played SimCity 3000 (which was a long time ago and I do not have a copy anymore) and SimCity 4. However, upon reading the manuals of both SimCity and SimCity 2000, apparently the games came with two modes of play - scenario play and the base game itself. Within these scenarios, you assume the role as mayor of a currently built city, and you must reach certain goals within a time limit to win. If you do not, you fail. This is what many would constitute to be a game as it provides at least three tenets that make up a game: 1. Rules, 2. Conflict, 3. A meaningful outcome. The scenario modes were suggested to be implemented by the publisher at the time, Brøderbund, that it would make the product truly a "game" rather than just a simulation. Exerpt from the SimCity Manual: My questions to you SimTropolis are the following: 1. Is it possible, in both the first SimCity and SimCity 2000, to "fail" (i.e. achieve a "Game Over" screen) in the core game (i.e. not the scenarios)? If so, how? I for one know that it is indeed possible to at least fail in the core games of SimCity 3000 and SimCity 4 if your finances take a dip, but I do not know the specifics and do not have the games on hand nor the time at the moment (it was a long time since I last failed SimCity 3000 and SimCity 4, which was many, many years ago when I was messing around with the game to see what would happen if you financially destroyed yourself). So, my second question is the following: 2. How exactly do you fail (i.e. achieve a "Game Over" screen) SimCity 3000 and SimCity 4? Specifics would be great. (I think it had something to do with a certain amount of debt? How much was it?) Any answer to either of these two questions would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Jin

Lot Creator's Wall of Walls
Lot Creator posted a topic in Cities: Skylines Modding - Open Discussion
Well hello there. Its been a while since I last did a BATing thread, much less a Skylines modeling thread. I guess this is where one starts out in the journey. 6/24/15 So where to start? I actually finished something a little while ago, but haven't had the time to upload all 6 of them. They are now functional and with a lot and all that fun stuff. Note: final version will lack vanilla billboards. Was only ploped for reference/fun'ngiggles. There are about 6 of these ranging from anime to operating systems to games. I would probably do more in the future if they get popular enough and the process of making them is more streamlined. (currently I need to do a bit of work to get it running, its a bit easier now but I still have to hunt down appropiate ads for them). Comment if you have ideas for new ones. PROJECT TWO: A more recent and ambitious project into actually making a building for myself for the first time. Following a certain building in Toyko called AKB48. https://www.google.com/maps/@35.70088,139.77196,19z/data=!3m1!1e3?dg=dbrw&newdg=1 <--- Just copypasta the whole thing. or https://goo.gl/maps/lPNCG For reasons for newbie, it's a box, great starting points. Anywho, I would like to know a "How am I doing?" poll from experts to know where am I going. Closing this in a bit of a haste, bed time... -
Sorry. :P
Thin White Duke posted a City Journal entry in Maricopa - The multi city region of multiple cities. (SC4)
I'm sorry about my short hiatus. Soon after making this entry my computer caught a virus and I had to reset it, after which I reinstalled BeamNG.drive and let that consume most of my free time. Anyway, thanks to the wonder of the memory stick, I still have all my mods and cities, so I can continue on with my CJ without a problem. In fact, just to redeem myself, here's a little teaser. I will be back soon... -
Today I show you Simcity logics: We have a big industrial area with many jobs.... ....a big highway (for only 6000 inhabitants!!!) without any traffic jams.... ....many commercial areas..... ....AND NO JOBS THOUGH-.- It has nothing to do with the entry at all, but could you recommend any low wealth service-commercial BATs? i only have gas stations^^ Replies Please comment my last entry though, I will reply to you in the next one, promise... pcwhiz24: Thanks for the compliments, I use the Pyrenean terrain mod. Edit: In the last entry I used the VIP girafe larches, VIP girafe subalpine firs, VIP girafe Maples and VIP girafe Lindens

So the big one we've all been waiting for has released. These last few years I've jumped back into SC4 and found a new passion for the game. It's quite frankly the fact that it never gets old. The creativity is near-endless. Whilst it could probably do with a patch to fix its stability (I am unaware of any of the latest patches from 3rd-party vendors) it more or less hit the nail on the head 90% of the time in being the 'perfect' SimCity title. So as I experienced Cities XL's numerous incarnations and the quite amusing SimCity Societies I always found myself back at SC4 - sometimes in an unhealthy binge! It's just bloody addictive! Fast-forward March last year. I found out the new Simcity was being released. I thought it was a joke. I had googled 'new simcity' probably every month ever since I got back into the 4th version. Then the glassbox engine. Wow! It looked cool right? All those colours and sprites tunnelling around under the roads. The whole multi-city concept sounded so far from what I was expecting. So Awesome. This was followed by videos, interviews, demos and a beta. Hell I pre-ordered in an instant. And then this... Okay. So all these messages I am seeing from Maxis do really seem quite genuine. I know it's their job. And anyone who has read Marketing 101 knows that this is obviously an outcry to consumers for their continued support. When a brand stuffs up. The company has an enormous task to reassure them that they will be compensated - in this case round the clock server updates and a free game. Otherwise Maxis is probably never going to recover - which would be a massive shame. I noticed that their logo has been re-introduced into the Sims 3 game as well. Looks like EA might be trying to tout some kind of 'we support the developer' thing. They are an awesome company. And I remember from when the Sims 1 & 2 and SC4 were released the enormous 'community' feel the games had from their online forums. Maxis is all about creating a community-feel in their games. That's why they really pushed the whole custom content thing. And now they've attempted to expand upon this. I'm not too sure on the general consensus of this community, but the wider public are very (and understandably) outraged. But we gotta hang in there. They're gonna fix it (I hope). Let's just hope that, for the wider gaming developers out there, they have learnt from this. That's just my 2-cents.

http://in.reuters.com/article/2012/07/11/sanbernardino-bankruptcy-idINL2E8IB2E520120711 Now why can't the city manage itself? Overgenerousity with its employees and contractors in the past catching up to them?
