Another week, another map! This time it's the Bureau of Bureaucracy... er, I mean, the Washington, D.C.-Baltimore, MD metropolitan area (for SimCity 4). The map is 32 x 28 large city tiles and is accurately scaled based on DEM data. It pretty much encompasses the entire Washington-Baltimore metro area, stretching from Quantico, VA to the northern Baltimore suburbs and from Leesburg, VA to Annapolis, MD. Some elevation levels have been compressed to allow for the Potomac River to be filled with game water across the entirety of the map. In order to install the map you will need wouanagaine's mapper or terraformer as the file is in SC4M format. I hope you can put this map to good use, enjoy! -TCC Maps released weekly on Tuesdays or Wednesdays (US, Pacific time), View My Full Map Catalogue Here:- 2 Reviews

I'd feel like a bad Baltimorean if I didn't post this here. For those that aren't familiar with the situation, Freddie Gray died after suffering a fractured spine and a crushed voice box at the hands of the Baltimore Police last Sunday. Yesterday, Saturday, protesters took to the streets in what was the largest protest since Gray's death. The protests were peaceful for most of the day, but turned violent later in the afternoon. An article on the protests An article on the arrest and questionable treatment of Freddie Gray Although this is Buzzfeed, it does provide a timeline of the protests, with a lot of multimedia Freddie Gray's twin urges that the violence be stopped I won't say more for the sake of neutrality.. I will let you all judge for yourselves.

Good Evening Everyone! After a long hiatus (Real Life was busy!) I will introduce you to the town of Patapsco, a thriving, quaint town of approx. 6,000 south east of Baltimore, Maryland. This town is just barely within the Baltimore Beltway, but is in a lightly developed quadrant of the metro area. The primary industries in the town so far are agriculture, fishing, the Marina, the local school system, some high-tech industry, and mom and pop shops. It is also within an easy commute of downtown Baltimore, other major suburban communities, Ray Lewis International Airport, the Baltimore Naval Yard, and the Baltimore Washington International Airport. The first picture shows an overview of Patapsco, which is on a small spit of land in the estuary of the Patapsco River as it enters the Chesapeake Bay. There are only 2 main entrances into town; the southern road, and the ferry at the northern tip. Here is the southern road into town: Here are some pictures covering the quaint business district, along with the Patapsco Episcopalian Church, and the Marina, a very popular hangout spot for local kids without having to go into Baltimore: And finally, here is a picture of the Francis Scott Key Bridge of the Baltimore Beltway (I-695) connecting both banks of the Patapsco River and the Baltimore harbor; heading to the right will take you to Dundalk and the Ray Lewis International Airport. Heading to the left will take you towards West Baltimore, Elkridge, Howard County, and the Baltimore Washington International Airport: Hope you enjoyed your tour of the Town of Patapsco, stay tuned for more!

Good Evening! This evening I present the city of Baltimore. Baltimore is the largest city in the state of Maryland, and my version there-of has (so far) approx. 1.4 million people, and will reach a projected population of 6-8 million. The main industries here are: financial, government, defense, high-tech, manufacturing, retail, and finally agricultural. There are 2 international airports and the largest naval base in "Southern Cities." Note: Although Baltimore, and the rest of Maryland is not recognized as a Southern entity, it being a border state (and south of the Mason-Dixon Line), retains aspects of Southern culture, and it is historically a Southern state, although definitely not culturally Southern at this time (unless visiting parts of Western Maryland, Southern Maryland, and the Eastern Shore). In future entries I will introduce my versions of Washington DC, and Annapolis, MD to round out the Mid-Atlantic part of "Southern Cities." Don't worry though, I will be going back to the rest of "Southern Cities" over the next weeks, months, and hopefully years! Enjoy!! Anyways, let me introduce you to two images of the Baltimore region. The first image shows the large CBD of Baltimore, along with extensive waterfront development, including the Naval Yard, the Ray Lewis International Airport in Dundalk, on the east side of the Baltimore Harbor Bridge, and some of the northern suburbs including Towson, Pikesville. The second image shows the suburbs emanating to the west of Baltimore, including Columbia, Halethorpe, Woodlawn, Catonsville, Elkridge, and the Baltimore-Washington International Airport, as well as the freeway leading to Washington DC. Hope you enjoy and stay tuned for more!

is the largest independent city in the U.S. and the largest city and cultural center of the US state of Maryland. The city is located in central Maryland along the tidal portion of the Patapsco River [/url]an arm of the Chesapeake Bay. Baltimore is sometimes referred to as Baltimore City in order to distinguish it from surrounding Baltimore County. Founded in 1729, Baltimore is the largest U.S. seaport in the Mid-Atlantic and is situated closer to major Midwestern markets than any other major seaport on the East Coast Baltimore's Inner Harbor was once the second leading port of entry for immigrants to the United States and a major manufacturing center. After a decline in manufacturing, like most other major American coastal cities, Baltimore shifted to a service-oriented economy. Source How to Install Map 1) Go to Documents ,then SimCity 4 ,then Regions 2) Create File with the name of the Baltimore 3) Place the config.bmp file into the folder or you can create your own . 4) After that Open SC4 Terraformer 5) Go to Global Tools ,and click import image 6) Find the .SC4M file in the map folder and click it * It might take a minute to upload ,so you can go get a soda or something 7) Save what you've done ,if it came out right (it should). 8. Enjoy : ) -

NHP Baltimore By blade2k5 UPDATE: Re-uploaded the zip file with config added. Map Details and Information Baltimore is an independent city and the largest city in the state of Maryland in the United States. Baltimore is located in central Maryland at the head of the tidal portion of the Patapsco River, an arm of the Chesapeake Bay, and is approximately 40 miles (64 km) northeast of Washington D.C.. Founded in 1729, Baltimore is a major U.S. seaport and is situated closer to major Midwestern markets than any other major seaport on the East Coast. Baltimore's Inner Harbor has always remained a major asset, once the second leading port of entry for immigrants to the United States and a major manufacturing center. Today the harbor is home to Harborplace and the National Aquarium in Baltimore and is a successful example of Baltimore's ambitious efforts at renewal. Following the fall of many of its largest manufacturing industries, Baltimore has shifted primarily to a service sector-oriented economy, with the largest employer no longer Bethlehem Steel but Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Hospital. Despite some successful revitalization Baltimore is still posed with many big-city challenges such as concentrated poverty and crime, and inadequate public education. As of 2007, the population of Baltimore City was 637,455. The Baltimore Metropolitan Area, which includes the city's surrounding suburbs, has approximately 2.6 million residents; the 20th largest in the country. Baltimore is also the largest city in the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Area of approximately 8.1 million residents. Because there is also a Baltimore County nearly surrounding (but not including) the city, it is sometimes referred to as Baltimore City when a clear distinction is desired. The city is named for Lord Baltimore in the Irish House of Lords, the founding proprietor of the Maryland Colony. Baltimore himself took his title from a place named Baltimore in Ireland, which is an Anglicized form of the Irish language Baile an Tí Mhóir, meaning "Town of the Big House" and referring to the O'Driscoll castle that still dominates the town. The Irish-language name for Baltimore is that of the O'Driscoll castle, Dún na Séad. Map Specifics Map Type: Real World Region map size: Map is configured for 56 large city tiles and is 7x8 in size. config.bmp size: included with zip file Dependencies: Either SC4 Mapper or SC4 Terraformer for importing. Currently the tallest building in downtown Baltimore, and only about a block away from the Inner Harbor, the Legg Mason Building stands 30+ floors and about 539 feet tall. Constructed when the building stage around the area was at its peak, it may not be the most glamorous thing ever built, but it serves its purpose in the area well. Functions as a Landmark. Cost: 37,000 Cost Monthly: 175 Bulldoze Cost: 7300 Wealth: Medium Dependencies: BSC Texture Packs 1-4, I think there is a mega pack out there... Please report any big problems asap. Thank you! -
