Modded Game CTDs when I select my old save
Warhawk8492 posted a topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
I have modded music, a lot of buildings installed NAM and the seaports mod. It just CTDs, no error message. How can I fix this so I can play my game? I also took the plugins out of thier folders? Do I just reinstall the game? I am using the Steam Release -
So for years I have lived with this bedbug in Simcity4, I consistently plop parks down in my cities. And when I do this appears (in the image). I just can't plop it down there or in the nearby tiles. The only solution I know is to move it away and back then you can plop but it's quite annoying. I sometimes have to plop hundreds of different kind of pieces but I have to swing crazy to do it. Are there known any fixes to this bug? Or some reliable ways to eliminate it.

Who else thinks riots are painfully annoying in this game especially with the whole manual response thing who has any reccomendations for any automatic emergency response so my blocks don't get destroyed behind my back?

Ok I'm having a little bizarre problem. It's not all the time or in all my cities and it doesn't affect gameplay at all, it's just very annoying. Sometimes when I use the question mark to hover over something, when I move on from it the screen begins to flash like a strobe light. Then when I move the question mark around, everything it touches starts to strobe as well. It only happens with the question mark but it's most annoying. Good thing I'm not prone to seizures. Anyway has this happened to anyone else and more importantly is there a setting or something I could change to stop the strobe like effect?

Hey peeps, can anyone enlighten me on something... Last night in one of my test regions was messing about and dispatched some police helicopters. However, now I have the little dispatch icons in my city and they won't go away . It seems that I shouldn't have saved the city having done this, bugger! Is there any way to cancel these dispatches. I kinda knew I shouldn't have saved, but it was stupid late when I finished and just wanted my computer off. I'd prefer not to have to restore my backup if at all possible, even though I have one. I'd appreciate any advice . Update: Sorry for rushing to ask for help, the solution was remarkably simple, I just bulldozed the Police HQs and rebuilt them - Problem Solved .

Possible gamebreaking Dirty-Industry demand bug?
BOOST15673 posted a topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
So I discussed this with A Nonny Moose already in August 2015, but his suggestions did not fix my problem. This is not good, as this problem, until I understand exactly what is causing it, is pushing me away from SC4. I am convinced it is a bug or glitch of sorts, so until I know that it isn't, it's hard to look past it. Anyways, here is a copy-paste of what I wrote A Nonny Moose, here's to hoping somebody can help me fix this!: "My problems are as followed, these always happen, I have yet to see it not happen and I have been playing on and off since 2006 or so. Do note that I have yet to find somebody with the exact problem, thus I could not properly fix this myself yet: Whenever I start a new region, my first city is always perfect, it always works without problem, and any problems that arise are manageable, for example, my first city in a new region I started is 100% finished with 172K people and I am very proud of the city. Now I started a new city on the block right next to it, this is where the problems begin. I notice that I-D demand is -6000. How can this be? I have no clean air act or similar ordinances, I have the taxes at the standard 9% (even changing it to 0%, just for a test, doesn't change anything after 6 in-game months). As with most people I always start with dirty industry, this won't work. As odd as it seems, Manufacturing & High-Tech always want in and build up right away, where as in the first city it was the opposite (until much later in-game of course). So basically, in city 1, it's normal, at the start, dirty wants in, but not manufacturing or high-tech, but in city 2 it's vice-versa, and even after 27 in game years (I play at turtle speed) no matter what I do, dirty has never once wanted to come in, despite me never doing one single thing to negatively influence their demand. I also have no RCI or demand mods installed. For some reason, in city 1, unemployment was manageable and no annoyances occured, sure it's not 100% employment, but that isn't my goal of course, my goal is fun and enjoyment. In city 2, despite being more commercial and industrial jobs than citizens, unemployment keeps coming and coming (my worst attempt saw nearly 65% unemployment). Residents want in, but commercial and industry wants out aka doesn't develop. Odd thing is that the unemployment is changing between all wealths, it's not just upper-class like by so many others that have this problem. This always seems to happen when I connect the two cities aka make use of the roads and what not. Pretty much acting as if city 1's citizens are stealing city 2's citizens' jobs but not vice-versa. Mass-transit doesn't seem to help much either and this is quite frustrating... So yeah, those are my problems that ALWAYS (at least by me) seem to happen when I start a second city in a region, I always play on hard difficulty, but believe it or not, hard difficulty in city 1 is vastly easier than in city 2, which makes no sense. I realize that I get more citizens because some from city 1 will come, but why is it that tactics that worked in city 1 for per se, 30K citizens, doesn't work in city 2 for 30K as well? 30K's 30K, how should that make anything harder, this is just an example, but still. I am so frustrated that I already attempted city 2 10 times, I haven't started the 11th attempt yet. I feel as if something is wrong with the industry if the start is the same in both cities, yet city 1 wants dirty, whereas city 2 doesn't. Hmm, I hope I didn't confuse you, explaining is a serious weakness of mine. I thought i'd ask you first before posting to get your two cents since you seem to be the elite of elites in terms of knowledge :)" -
I've been having an issue with the game with NWM transitions. The process goes like this: I. I place an intersection down. 2.The area around it sinks to the bottom of the map. 3. I spend half of my budget on corrective terraforming. 4. Repeat 1-3 until I am significantly in the red. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ It's really game breaking, and only appears to happen with Road-ARD2 transitions. I've attached a picture of this glitch. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Apartment blocks keep abandoning due to "commute time"
hiddentemple posted a topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I'm trying to revitalise one of my biggest cities with apartment blocks from Bixel (the HK-style ones). The city I'm trying to revitalise is quite cookie-cutter and planned out. Whenever I try to plop a Bixel building in a residential area, it always keeps abandoning because of "commute time" and other nonsense. I even tried doing one of these apartments next to commercial areas, even right next to the central business district, and it still said "long commute time" and became abandoned. This is very frustrating. Can anyone help me with this? I'll take a picture of my situation when requested.- 15 Replies

Just to be annoying... I was in the mood to bug the Sims. After all, think about how many things they complain about in game - even when things are doing well they complain. So I am giving them something to complain about! So I decide to make a road that could very well have been perfectly straight do a little extra... Here's the beginning of the annoying road... you will be permitted to drive through the hills with your cars today... just for the fun of it! Through the hills they go, wiggling along all of the twists and turns... and they seem to like it, oddly enough. You ready to take a ride? The reward for making it through the twisty road is a view of Schulmania's first overpass!

There's this annoying texture that comes up on RHW, railway, Roads (Diagonal roads etc) anyway, If the RHW is diagonal, it's every second square that has this texture, I've not seen it in many CJ's, so i'm assuming there's a mod to fix it?
