Hi, Does anyone understand what's wrong with the trees? I have few spots in my city where I haven't laid any zones or parks and just want to plant trees... Not only it's hard to put down trees unless you have a big open space, but also I noticed that these tend to disappear after a short while. My guess is that these are removed anytime I leave the city for region view and zoom back in the city. It's really saddening... I think it's because the terrain is not perfectly flat and its shape is being recalculated / reshapped each time I enter the city. This process probably removes the trees... What can I say... my goodness...

Problem activating Simcity 2013 in Origin

Hello, Within my household are several Simcity fans. I activated the game under my Origin account. Now when someone else from my household wishes to add Simcity to their Origin account, they simply cannot! Origin says that the activation code has already been used. Is there not a way to share the code among the same household / on the same PC with all the Origin users? Thank you in advance (don't tell me that we need to purchase more than one licence, that's not inline with French laws). Regards- 5 Replies

Hi, So I activated the Leaf and plopped the max 5 stations in my city. After a couple of minutes every other car became a blue Lea... So now one out of 10 cars in the city is a Lea... The crazy thing is that now my city is messed-up. I was just kicked-out and asked to restore it. Now that I restored and opened it, I get the message that the city is not working properly and that they wish to repair it... Lol WJ

Hi, Judging by the pace at which EA/Maxis are releasing updates, a 1.9 update for SimCity should soon become available... Oh!? But if we soon have v1.9, and all updates has been numbered as 1.[0-9], does that mean that we'll soon see update 2.0!? A complete new SimCity version !!!? Well, we all know is metaphysically highly unlikely... So if we are not getting v2, I guess we will get v1.10 and so on... unless we do actually get v2, but in the form of a DLC... I guess you could also argue that the "9" in "1.9" might mean that this will actually be the last update / patch that they will bother to release for SimCity 2013, lol... Anyway... enough speculations, what do you think? Scary.

Oh I see... So is this supposed to mean that the ground is so polluted that my trees are dying and hence disappearing!? I actually think this is a bug... if the trees were actually suffering from pollution, then they should have made a special model to show them without leafs or needles (so as to look dead)... intothewrx: i definitely saw one fire chopper estinguish some fires in my city. I don't think it came from neighbouring cities as I did not notice another user's icon over it. anyhow, if this is true (that "choppers are only to help other cities and never yours"), then this is really sad... -
What's with all those taxis/cabs jamming my city?

Hi there, My current city is getting jammed by thousands of yellow taxis/cabs every other morning. It is so bad that the city remains jammed for the entire day. They seem to pop out of commercial buildings (maybe hotels) or the airport. I am not sure where they are heading or why there are so many. By my airport there are so many that maybe 95% of all cars are taxis. The pity is that there is no actual dashboard/leaderboard to monitor how many taxis are generated in your city within a day. Surely it surpasses all other forms of transportation. The funny thing is that I don't seem to get this drama every day, some days trafic is just fine / fluid. Any ideas? Regards, WJ -

I guess this is those ugly hotels that look like medieval castles... I often have a dozen in my city... really repetitive. It's also those buildings (that ugly looking type) that always go bankrupt, almost one every other month. I keep bulldozing them, by they sprout back, as if they never learned that they went bankrupt two weeks earlier... -

Hi, I was also building the space center and had issues with trucks. What is stupid is that they priorize the construction of the space center instead of your local business. You should be able to say how many trucks are dedicated to the construction so they don't all go pickup alloy and fuel and set off to deliver it... At some point in noticed my trucks were also gone, but it seems that they were stuck in the space center. They eventually came out. At another occurence, on their way out, they were stuck on the road coming out from the space center and leading to the highway. As if there was a traffic jam their. They were progressing slowly. After a while they finally returned... Maxi(mum)s(adness)... Cheers -
Hi, Actually this bug will take place with whatever resource that your trucks can delivery... Yesterday I had the following configuration: 1st trade depot with: -alloy (importing) -plastic (importing) -computer (exporting) 12 truck garages 2nd depot with: -gazoline -TVs (exporting) -processors -goods -metal (exporting) 12 truck garages so long I only had 1 processor factory and 1 high-tech factory, I was making millions per day (cash went up to 6 million). then I decided I would build the spaceport, so I needed more computers, so I build a second hightech factory and then a second processor factory. then even though i would still export computers (and not ship any to the spaceport) as well as TVs and metal, I started losing money! after a while i noticed that the problem came from the alloy delivering trucks who would go back to their garage in the second depot and hence wasting the resource worth 41k§. I think the same was happening with plastic and processors which meant I also lost money from those trucks. to temporily bypass the bug I will try to reorganize my depots, with one exporting depot, and one for imports or local supplies. the exporting depot will have: - computers - TVs - metal - goods and NO trucks the other depot (import + local) will have: - alloy - plastic - processors - gazoline and 12 garage trucks it will have to be very close to the factories due to the limited number of trucks. in that configuration, if alloy, plastic or processors do not find space in a factory, they will be returned to the depot however i fear that they will still get wasted if the depot has already replenished with imported goods. the alternative is maybe to have alloy and plastic in both depots (but only import in one). ... Sad design... all we have to do to bypass bugs... bye

Hi Kabloosh, I once saw a fire chopper fly over one of my fires... Other than that, I have the impression that these choppers are only useful to neighbouring city (but that's only because i rencently plopped them and never really saw them do anything). Other than that, my hazmat fire truck is not even coming out of its garage even though I have such fires all the time. The result is I keep having industrial explosions. Sad. -

I currently have a problem in my city where a special industrial fire is raging but my special truck is not even coming out of his garage. Lets see if this patch fixes it. -

Hey there, I was just watching some of those videos about the small >200k inhabitants cities and happen to see one with an airport. I was actually wondering if building the airport in your city can be as tricky as in other simcities... given the small space you have... Are airplanes colliding with res and com towers if they are growing inline with the runway? I think it was SC2k and SC3K where you could most often here the airplanes crash into building, but that did not have an effect if your turned out dissasters. However if you did not turn it out, then you kept having fires Can someone post a video with aircrafts takeoff between buildings Hong-Kong style?

In France I paid 51€ for the regular version. They were also proposing the "euro-set" in an extra box for another 10€. In another shop, they were selling the regular game for 59.99€ !!! -

Hi, does anyone know how the following property affects the edge reconciliation process? 0x48cd7c00 Float32 EdgeReconcilliationSmoothingRadiusVsHeightDiff Specifiess the smoothing radius as a function of height adjustment needed the default values are 0,6,300,40 I am not satisfied with the reconciliation process which does not take into account what the height differences are along my borders. Even though the cells on the opposite side of the city border are already aligned in terms of height, the edge reconciliation process still wants to align them. I noticed and changed values for the property EdgeReconcilliationHtDifferenceThreshold but this seems to only affect the threshold at which edge reconciliation for the whole city will be tried. For instance, my belief is that if the value is set to 100, then the edge reconciliation process will only propose to reconcile if there is at least a difference of 100 meters with any other city's border. I want to affect the reconciliation process at the cell level, for instance, only allow the game to reconcile a particular cell if it's altitude differs by say 15 meters. Lower than this, the process should not proprose to reconcile this cell with the neighbouring cells... Any idea if it's doable? (I noticed that the 6 in 0,6,300,50 affects the radius in cells of the reconciliation process. So by default, when reconciliation occurs, up to 6 cells from the border will be affected. But changing this does not help. I don't understand the other values' use). Regards, Julien -
