The United States of Westernland. 10-5-08!

Thank you everyone. I will still keep doing roads though, just because it helps me on the transit maps when at satellite view. So your probably thinking where have I been? Well, college has started, and work is getting more. But I am still working on this country. Currently finished with Eastern State, so more updates to come on it, as well as working on Southen State. I have now pinpointed what Southern State will be like. It is the agricultural base of the country, the breadbasket if you will. It is also home to a large retirement community in the tropical areas, especially around the city of "Dade', which is like Miami if you will. This region is home to the lower class, more simple living people, incomes are lower, and farming is a way of life. Big cities, are not as big, and crime in those cities can be very bad. I look forward to completing enough to start showing you guys Southern State. After Southern State, I plan on expanding in past States, like Western State. Here are the cities I have completed or am working on in Southern State. Population by town name. A few "big" cities. Here are just a few small towns from The United States of Westernland. Gold Canyon, Eastern State. 1,126 people. Graham, ES. 5,990 people. Well, a medium sized town, but it has a old small town charm. 30,788. Small for the rest of the world, but big to Northern State. The industrial checkpoint town of Grozenburg, NS. A supply point and oil drilling town of 11,256 in the white chilly north. The capital city of Northern State, Hyderville, NS. 18,000 people. I guess medium sized too. Sorry about image size, but it is the best one! The native town of Klikiat Village in Northern State. 8,963 people. Webber, Western State. Just over 1,000. Bronze Point, WS. Little over 3,000. Shipping center for ships coming in from the harsh sea. Pinewood, WS. Serves as a supply center for the fertile famrland around it. Also has a airfield and racetrack. Over 5,000. Cathrine Bay, WS. has around 4,000 people. County Courthouse in Aspen Grove, WS. Around 17,000. Vance Harbor, WS is a small fishing/tourist town of under 1,000 people. Farmington, WS sits on a plain as well as rolling hills and is surrounded by farmland and is afarm supply center for the area. 7,000 people. Thats just a few. I'll try to get more later. Maybe. It seems I am always doing something, and always focusing on a certain thing for my nation. Sometimes I focus on the city themselves, or stats, airlines, news organizations, websites, and now I am focusing on a very important thing for every country...duh, the GOVERNMENT. Like it or not ,every successful nation has a government, and so does the USW. Here is a small info poster of some important government positions in the nation. Remmeber, you elected some of them including Mike Cromwell and Rick Morse. You will recognize some of the faces o nthe list. I plan to go more in depth later. More updates from Eastern State to come too. Also, I have a great portion of Southern State completed. It is a mix of the US's south and gulf states, inlcuding Florida and excluding Texas. I will show pictures of that later too. Enjoy a little of the government....hee hee. -

Awesome. I've made racetracks before, but this will be even better, looks great!

I will have to look over all the previous City Journals. I'll put current ones in a list, and archived old ones in a list below that. Maybe have a intro picture for each City Journal. Just make it look really nice and streamline.

You think that is a good idea? Because I can just edit this one if you want. I'm going to make a fancy banner and everything for the thread.

RushHourFreak: Than you. I try to do my best in all those areas of the city and landscape. I especially love forming downtowns. My favorite part. Big or small, I love it. Not all big cities need "Manhattan" style skylines, which I see all too often in City Journals. Small towns often overlooked... well, not here. Ky72x: I wish there were more W2W buildings. Also thank you for the nice comments. I like how you take thought in what you say. Thanks. I got another update in the works. Then soon the release of my NEWEST addition to the United States of Westernland. Man, I'd love to just get to page 19 so it wouldn't take so long to load. -
Great potential and a lot of detail in what you write. I like it.
-
I loved how you did the first update! That was very cool and unique, and I like the small towns! Avalon City is coming nicely too, very clean looking and nice crisp pictures. Great work.
-
Intresting so far to say thel east, but I like it. For a city of only 93,000, it sure has a lot of major things like sports teams. Thats cool.
-
Parts of Calder City are very industrious I see. You got a lot of Maxis buildings, and show them off very well. Great region, and it flows nicely.

Thank you both for the kind words. More updates coming soon. Going to wait for more people to comment. -
I'm planning to completely overhaul the city-journal index in the front of the thread. It has been far too long since I have. So post your CJ, with a link to it, and I will get to it within the next few weeks.

USA's Comments Panthersimcity4: Thank you very much. Ky72x: Great to have you as a loyalist coming back to this City Journal. Love the comments and thank you. I'll see if I can get you a house there on the water. Fort Destille, Eastern State Fort Destille started as a small settlement out on the Western frontier at the time. Today it is the central eastern part of Eastern State. Due to the threat of hostile indians, Fort Destille was built there in 1855. The town served as a major trading point and hub during the 1850s through 1890s. Today the population of 30,788 make the city a thriving desert city with all the modern ammenties of larger cities. A large portion of the population work at the still running Fort Destille. Often the city is known for it's patriotism. Flags and banners line all the major thoroughfares, and flags on poles at local homes. The city is known for being on the end of the desert plateau too. It is on the verge of desert land and more fertile lowlands, but still gets hot and dry summers and mild dry winters. Snow falls a few times year in the winter is all. The towns main street still thrives, even with a few big box stores on the outskirts of town. Fort Destille has loyal shoppers at the local stores and shops. It is a really safe city too, having some of the lowest crime rates in the state. The military presence is high, because it is not rare to see uniformed soldiers enjoying a cup of joe at the local cafe. Fort Destille is truly a unique desert city experience, with big city amenties, but small town charm. The desert oasis, known as Fort Destille. Fort Destille sits on the end of the Desert Plateau. Fertile lowlands are within a mile of the city limits. So far no growth has occured in the lowlands region for the city yet. Fort Destille is the biggest employer in the city. The Fort Destille Memorial Hospital is also seen in this picture. Downtown Fort Destille has a farmers market open daily, seven days a week. The downtown streets of Fort Destille are intresting. Main street has old historic buildings from the towns past on the north side of the street, and newer modern buildings were built on the south side of the street. Downtown Fort Destille, Eastern State.
