Hi, I installed sc4 successfully in Linux and everything is working great. But I'm trying to install NAM and I can't I tried searching for this files in the NAM installer folder and no success NetworkAddonMod_Setup_Version49.sh If anyone has successfully installed NAM in Fedora Atomic kde or any other Linux distro please help. Or, If anyone knows how to run JAR files? Thanks I can't install Windows 11. My computer is very, very slow with W11. With Windows 10, I will lose support in October, and my solution was Windows LTS, but I don't want to go through the process of configuring Windows LTS on my main PC. I read somewhere here a solution: that going back to Windows 10, installing NAM there, then backing up all the files to a USB or another drive, and then copying the files to my Linux plugins folder, but I think it's kind of tedious, and I thought that the NAM installer was compatible with Linux as is described in the readme, but my distro can't run JAR files unless I install some things with the terminal, and I don't have any knowledge about that, so I don't know what could be another not-so-time-consuming solution. I don't know if I should wait for NAM 50 with the DLL files, or is going to be the same? SimCity 4 runs pretty fast without any glitches with the Graphics and CPU DLLs installed. I think runs better than with win 10, at windows 10 I had some random glitches even with all the drivers up to date. I installed Bazzite KDE and I run the game with Lutris without any hard tinkering. I can't install the 4gb patch under Linux with Wine. I don't know if that's needed with Fedora Atomic (Bazzite)

I love this kind of rock textures, reminds me of some New Zealand and Lord of the Rings epic scenes

I think that's how the 3D software renders the shadows, and that depends on a lot of things.

this is it Maybe make some 2 or 3 color variations. I would use this version, looks similar to the same rocks here at Cumbres National Park and a lot of south Chinese places I play with the game

mpv - easy, open source, free, fast, automatically adapts your hardware for better performance by default, no need to change anything sorry if I didn't post the download links since I don't know if that's posible here

Now I want to go to the beach. 😩 Your water colors looks photorealistic. The sand looks soft on the feet; that wave foam looks fine to me. Looks like the Caribbean and South Asian island beaches. I think the game automatically adapts the waves depending on the terrain elevation and shape, but I'm not sure. Some tests could confirm this. In real life, they look similar to yours. Some places don't have waves, and some have big waves. However, I believe that creating something that balances both extremes is acceptable. I think you nailed it.

Hi, the classic method of Photoshop and searching through Google Images led me to the amazing photo by Eurico Craveiro, as shown below. Of course, without his amazing photo, I wouldn't have completed this, and I will mention his name and the link to his image in the mod, as well as the names of some people who guided me when I wasn't sure what to do. The past images I used were from free and paid texture resources, but I ended up not liking the results. After researching old YouTube videos about Photoshop, I decided to use a real water photo instead of using tools like Blender to render the water. (I found this method more useful for animated water, but with some tweaking, it could create similar results to this, though I don't know how yet. Someone more experienced could, of course. :D). I found that using real photos to create static (axonometric, trimetric projection) view water textures was more pleasing to my eyes, though, of course, everyone has different tastes. ☺️ But of course, I keep making small changes to the texture. 🙃

Maybe it's the drivers If you can't solve the issue, use the warranty. I hope you can fix the issue; Manually download and install the drivers, update the BIOS via USB, and test again. Edit. take pictures and video of everything, just in case.

hehe I have a random memory from that, but I wasn't sure. Maybe, like five years ago, I had read something, but I took a break from playing the game for some years and forgot a lot of things. I learn something new every day.

I didn't know that, thanks, I was also looking for some mmp paths from MGB but I don't remember where's the attachment anymore or if he released it anywhere. But since I don't remember how it looks or a picture from him, I didn't ask about it.

Those are similar, but the ones from that post was planned to be "T21" and it will cover avenues overpass, road overpass, and elevated maxis highways.

Retaining walls for NAM puzzle pieces never seen the light of day Retaining walls for NAM correct me if this was released, I never saw anything about this anywhere else.

I'm trying to re-skin this automata from Srainy, but I don't know if I can change it to use Passenger Rail instead of El-Rail. If someone knows how, please share. I searched for info on past threads at SC4Devotion, but I couldn't find anything. I want those to be a replacement for the El Rail and Passenger Rail. Something like this—DSC - Rail - Maxis Passenger Trains Remake - Automata - Simtropolis but with those autómatas I want to use different replacements but with the same model or automata. The images are just for reference.

El Rail to Passenger Rail automata?
watercitymadero replied to watercitymadero's topic in SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
Well it seems that this post was ignored, but I post this here anyways, in case some one wants to try it. Thanks to @dragonsteincole for responding. " Assuming that the el-rail DAT has both the engine and the coach in the same DAT (if the engine and coach are in separate DAT files, you'll just need to repeat this process for each DAT). And that you are only making replacements for the vanilla el-rail and passenger rail. You will need to alter the IIDs for any 3DS, FSH and Exemplar files, to change their ID from the el-rail, to passenger rail. Using this page from SC4D, you can reference what train automata have which IIDs https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=22.msg144#msg150 But for our purposes, we need to switch the el-rail IDs (EL Train Engine - 112C0000, & EL Train Car - 112D0000) to the passenger IDs (Passenger Engine - 10A90000, & Passenger Car 10b10000) Make a copy of the el-rail DAT, rename it so you know it's the passenger rail version. Open it in ilives reader. You will need to alter the IIDs for the files themselves (exemplars, FSHs and 3DSs), and for most of them, inside the file themselves. For the exemplars, this is normally just the model resource key, and auxiliary model 1 key (headlights) For the FSHs, you just need to rename the file. Some FSH may be able to be shared between models (example, wheel textures, couplers or other details), so those can be left as is. For the 3DSs, you need to go into the Mats tab and edit those ids to match any FSHs that were edited. Usually, editing the mats section will result in the model turning white - this is normal, changes to the FSH id won't display until the file is saved and reloaded. Also, make sure to hit the apply button in the 3DS section before moving to a different file, it will not save otherwise and you will need to re-edit the IDs in the Mats tab. Make sure to save often just to avoid the program crashing (which happens to me quite a lot)." I will try to solve this for my own personal use. If some wants to make the test for your own autómatas re-skins for your cities, you could try to do this. I will update this here If I succeed with this later. Have a nice day.- 1 Reply

Hi, unexpert question here I would love to learn how to BAT as well. I'd like to know if I can create the models with Blender and export them to Gmax, then apply the textures and render the night there?
