September 12, 2014 - Breaking news. A massive earthquake has hit the region on Manshin, making the region vanish in the ocean. (Real world: massive computer issues/reformatting was required). A loud cry was hear throughout the world, bringing chills to all those who heard it (Real world: I screamed so loud that I believe all my neighbors heard me.) Today is a day of mourning (Real world - downloading). For all of you who praised the beauty of Amshin (first city of Manshin), thank you. *sniff*. I bid you goodbye for now. Some survivors are now looking for a new region to rebuild their lives and hope to create a new Manshin (Real world: searching for maps and creating a new journal). *wave hand while walking in the sunset" Oh please......lol...even that is too much for me! lol

The issue is the fact your city probably doesn't have enough $$$ jobs to satisfy your sims. I personally would increase taxes to about 15-20%, let the sims leave and let the $ and $$ come in. When you see a building being abandon, destroy it so a new one gets built. That way, eventually, you will have all the $$$ out of the city. $$$, in my opinion, should only be welcome when your city is big enough to support their demands, which is great. Good luck! -

Hello all, I have been searching for two items to place within my city: 1) Benches (not part of a lot or park); 2) Bleaches (not part of a park or lot) I am trying to put benches around some areas and bleaches next to a soccer field. Would anyone know if such things exist? I have been trying to find those items, but I have been unsuccessful. Thank you!

Hello all! I have been "playing" for about 3-4 months and I finally decided to get serious and to finally create a full region. The following is the completion of one city within the Manshin region - Amshin. It is a little farming and logging town. Special thanks to 47ply, A Nonny Mouse and Ryan 123220 for sharing their knowledge with me. And a big thank you to all the mod/bat creators who enable players like me to create beautiful cities. Hope you enjoy my first journal. Overall look of Amshin - still green. I guess progress is slow to come here... Amshin Trail Park - one of the main attraction for the Amshiners...walking, drinking and drinking, and drinking....hum... Amshin second main attraction - a stream under the bridge. Yeah...these Amshiners got to get a life..lol Amshin South side of the mountain - you can swim there..but diving is not recommended...I could go on about Al's story...let's just say it involved a big branch and the consequence of landing on it...ouch... Amshin Pond among the fields - most of the population was conceived there...popular "night spot"..lol Amshin South logging area - there is nothing funny about killing trees...really, I am serious...this is no bueno... Amshin small Industrial district - grid...grid...and more grid..."sigh" Amshin Main Town - small downtown area, busy streets..yeah, they got it all. Amshin Chapel within the main town- because you know, you got to have religion...

Hello. This is the beginning of my first region (ever!)...The region is called Manshin. This city is called Amshin. It will be a farming town. I have finally completed the center piece of my city, which is a mountain with 4 (yes, 4) waterfalls. The train goes right through the mountain and there is a little "nature park" with benches and trails for my active sims. This was done with God Mayor Mod terraforming tools and mostly Paeng's and Murimk plugins. Total hrs of construction: 20 hrs... Overview: one of the falls Nature walking/bicycle trail

It looks good ply...never doubt your abilities..you are gifted to create these types of cities where people would actually want to live! Plus, your highways are always original! Keep up the great work...ad some color and that will motivate ya!!!

I know it is a bit of a cheat, but for some cities that I build with a specific theme and where I don't want to build landfills, I use the Black Hole Waste Management cheat (on STEX). It could help you get rid of those 28 units and then, just demolish it if want to continue playing with the landfill, incinerators, etc. This cheat is an actual building you plop in your city (preferably next to your industry or power plant) and it cost 1,000/month. Good luck with your issue and hope you are able to resolve it! -

At first, when I started, I didn't want to use cheats, mods, etc. I have been playing for about 2 months now Alky and honestly, the DDL cheat is wonderful. You can choose so many option on top of Moolah. As for the advisers, guilty, I still listen to them at time since I am still new at identifying potential issues right away. You are right, they are annoying and can definitely ruin your cities. I find one thing that helps me is to only read the tips or general comments. When they start requesting more civics, parks, etc, I refer myself to the graph and assess if my city really need it. It is hard to enjoy the game to its full potential at first (trust me, I almost quit at the beginning), but it does get better. I viewed a lot of Youtube tutorial, looked at journals and most of all, I did receive some great advise from veterans players. Good luck with the game and hope you enjoy it as much as we all do!! (yes, I am now completely passionate about this game!!!)

Hello all! I have been playing Sim City 4 for about 2 months and I simply adore it (will be much better when I can actually build a big city without all those dead building due to abandonment lol) However, since I am a girl who loves beautification and trees as well as various types of buildings, my plugin folder has become, to put it mildly, quite large. I used Datpacker to perform the IHT census fix. I am not familiar with all that can be done with this feature, but I hear I can use it to make my folder less heavy, thus reducing the loading time of the game. I was wondering if anyone could tell me which files can be datpacked and which cannot. I understand NAM is one of the NO NO packing. Any clarity provided is greatly appreciated!
