  1. BAT Nightlighting Issue

I have a similar problem and I have tried to update my EP1 and BAT, in that order, but every time I try to update, the files don't seem to be modified. The EP1 update says it was successful, but when I check the modification date, it still says 2003, not 2014. I made sure I used the one for North America and I followed all the instructions I found associated with the update. Any suggestions?
  2. I do a little of both. I plan major freeways and rail systems so that I can effectively move large numbers of sims from the suburbs into the business districts within my city. I plan so I don't get "No Job" zots, but after I get the major arteries in place, I tend to be more creative then.
  3. Show us your City Transit Maps!

@Bluemoose, Nice map! Very detailed and cool station names. I see you're from Pennsylvania. I was wondering when I saw stations with names like Gulph Rd., Yarborough, and Chester.
  4. Show Us your Highways!

This reminds me so much of my travels in Italy. The design and the surroundings remind me of the Autostrada. Very nice work!
  5. The City Center is where the action is... minus the traffic.

I'm not 100% sure because I don't have the layout of your city in front of my, but it appears that there is very limited access to your central business district from the freeways you have surrounding it. If you want to increase traffic downtown, add some more access ramps connecting downtown to your suburbs. That will allow traffic to pick up a bit more.
  6. Show us your Accomplishment!!

@kozmikv1: Nice, I love Dallas! Now you just need to get those big Texas freeways installed and you're good to go! And put a park on top of Woodall Rodgers. I love how you got the DART in there too! haha
  7. Kassel & Østredal

Nice story line and transportation networks. Looking forward to more! Maybe you need to give those sims that have trouble finding a seat on the train another alternative: Highways! :D
  8. Peoria, Illinois.

Well, your screenshot of the region looks good, except for the first one, it resembles Philadelphia, PA a bit more.
  9. Show Us Your Suburbs

@ion_cannon Great looking suburb! Looks like it has good access to it's city (metro area) with the train. Any plans for a highway to bypass the curvy roads?
  10. Show us your Airports!

@Josh6 Awesome night view of the airport and the region around it! The river looks like a perfect corridor for planes to fly thru! By the way, how did you get a regional night shot?
  11. Hampton, South

Beautiful! What a great image of a shore community. It reminds me of Virginia a bit, I guess its the style of the city.
  12. Yes we have Events as well

Thats a nice entertainment district you got there. Very well planned!
  13. coming soon!

Its looking like a nice suburban community, I can't wait to see it as it begins to fill up and you post an update.
  14. Cool Interchange

Gotta Represent my home city DALLAS! This is the "Texas High Five", the most famous interchange in Texas and puts most other interchanges to shame. At least all the East Coast ones...5 roads stacked on each other, no big deal... http://upload.wikime...9/High_Five.jpg
  15. This is the Trinity Mills DART Station on the Green Line in Farmer's Branch/ Carrollton, TX. A suburb of Dallas. Its a beautiful new station and you can see the I-35E Interchange with the President George Bush Turnpike in the background. This station is the closest DART station to where I live--a few miles off the Sam Rayburn Tollway, so its not exactly THAT convenient, but its a nice alternative. The DART rail system is still under construction and parts of the Orange Line are opening up later this summer!
  16. Brad? Janet? Denton USA

Denton is so fun, it used to be this run down, boring town out in the middle of nowhere! After Dallas really great its experienced such a great revitalization. Great map!
  17. Replies + Teaser

Very nice city! I can't wait to see the actual entry for it. I am sure its going to be great!
  18. An introduction to Siilijoki

So far this is looking really good! You have a great network of highways and a beautiful region! I especially enjoyed pictures 2, 11, and 14! Keep up the awesome work and I can't wait to see more.
  19. Commuting Problems

Well, there are a few things I would suggest to fix the development problems and the commuter problems you're having. The first is there are no major thruways. You have small roads that can only handle a certain capacity. You need to upgrade these to one ways and avenues to increase the capacity of commuters on the streets and this will ultimately increase the capacity of commerce and population your region can hold. In addition to this, are the roads connecting your residential areas to your commercial areas adequately? Most cities have highways connecting the suburbs from the central business districts. You don't appear to have any of that. What seems to be going on is you have your roads placed at random. You can really see this in your second to last picture--roads are dead ending and turning all over the place, its not conducive to a smooth flowing traffic pattern for your region. PM me and I can give you some more tips, I love planning roads for my cities. I am a regional planner in real life, so its one of my specialties.
  20. Show us Your Interchanges!

@Haljackey: Sweet interchange! I love how green it is, you put a lot of work into the beautification of the highway. I always have problems dealing with the problems of interchange size and beautification and functionality. But, you seemed to figure it out pretty well. This interchange actually kind of reminds me of 2 interchanges I made for TX 181 in 2 of my suburban cities: Perko and Golden Ranch. I can't wait to post my cj later this summer!
  21. NO LONGER UPDATED // The Illium Empire

Very nice cities! Great story so far. Btw, do you happen to be from the Dallas-Fort Worth area? Denton and Corinth stuck out to me.
  22. Bank of America Plaza

Awesome! I love Dallas and this lot is great! Its looks very realistic!
  23. Update 26: Baufeld's Growth Marches Forward

Very nice, looks clean and reminds me a lot of my community around Ft. Worth, TX. It used to be all farms and now they are building houses like crazy!
  24. Show us your City Transit Maps!

Hmm, thats interesting you hardly ever see bus maps here...not to say you don't, just rare. But thats nice! I guess bus maps are probably a bit more complex.
