I enjoy standing out from the crowd in any fashion possible, even if it means I am eccentric.

I didn't think the episodes I, II, and III were bad...but this....I'm losing hope for humanity honestly.

I made the UVW Mapping cover the entire glass(all the windows). But your right, that does kind of look like reflections. I'd like you to try something between like 30-50 for the UVW mapping selecting all of the windows and applying that. Usually I have it set around 60-70 or much higher for my skyscrapers.

Gn_leugim- Ha knowing those issues before can keep one with a more precise or keen eye on anything it seems. Hamish- I know this is quite late in reply but thank you so much! I really appreciate such comments. Geometry- Patience is a virtue. I'm not sure about a "plaza" version of the Twin Towers just yet. I wouldn't get my hopes up too much on something like that soon. Maybe in the future perhaps but I wouldn't count on it. I think I'm going to confine myself mainly to the buildings before considering that. Well I haven't done much to the model of 4 WTC but I changed the roof texture- I didn't really edit anything except maybe the size of this texture and slightly alter it's color but I do like the result and I think it closely matches the real life roof with a hint of difference. I know that this isn't an accurate replica of 4 WTC but it is close enough right? My Twin Towers weren't exact replicas either by the way(you'd notice that the lattice or top of the towers is slightly different than what it was in real life, partly a misjudgement on my part that I just went with it actually). I was wondering if I should make the base window frames black like the mullions and facade... Any thoughts and what not?

Not quite just yet. It looks like you went back to the monochrome color. Try adjusting the UVW Mapping again where the texture is more visible in the overall glass. Let me give an example through a BAT I made before, Sim Nation WTC/NPC Insurance. I don't mean to advertise, the textures on here are the closest thing to your BAT that I've made. Not saying you have to match the color of the glass exactly but it should look something like that.

I would adjust the UVW Mapping on the windows. Select all the windows and increase the UVW Mapping for the glass.

Дом советов and other brutalist structures

Son of a BAT 16 GB of RAM? Lucky! Love the shift in color with a more yellowish appearance. Just out of curiosity, could this also be a Hospital included? I'm not sure if it was already stated what the building's purpose was(I assumed residential?); however I looked at it now and thought hospital. Maybe that could be an option to go with the upload? We could always have more medical centers to choose from. Can't wait to have this in my city. -
Wonderful details and the textures on the walls look great so far. Can't wait to see more.

Being from the South and Louisiana specifically I've dealt with quite a few hurricanes, but I really think most of the people in those areas are over-dramatizing this hurricane. I mean no offense of course, but it doesn't seem like it'll be that big of a deal. Ya'll be okay. Storms come and go, seriously, ya'll will be alright.

I agree with Harishna, that white parapet is still too bright and white and needs to be toned down a bit(similar to what you did for the roof texture) to fit the game's environment. I think your glass texture could use some revitalization as well. Ever looked at the textures that came with the BAT? There should be something like BAT: Gamepacks: Textures or whatever that has them. If you can't find it, and mainly for the sake of this post, here's the Glass Texture that comes with BAT- I use this texture, as well as another one I found, with my BATs a lot. I'd recommend you use it. However, you would need to edit it's colors a bit. You'd probably want it to slightly match the color you already have, or give it a subtle hint of that color. Then, to make it look a little more like glass or give it this illusion of glass in Gmax, apply "Self-Illumination" to the texture. It's like checking the box for it and selecting the same texture to go there, like what you did with the "Diffuse" option to get the texture itself on the BAT. Self-Illumination only for the glass though. But it has been coming a long way. You should be very proud of this one, and it'll end up being a great first BAT.

Poiuy1208's BATs.... Mostly Chicago related.
Sgt Pepper replied to poiuy1208's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Oh I can elaborate on your problem because I used to use sketchup years ago before I started using Gmax. Notice in your sketchup model that the chimney's faces are a blue color? That's the opposite side of the faces actually. In gmax, it renders reversed faces like that invisible. In Sketchup, reverse the faces so they'll be white again or the exterior surface(and don't texture them white that won't work ). Hope that helps! -

Francis and Gn_leugim, there is no definite accurate scaling for the game. Sc4 has no sense of scale. Of course I preferred matching Maxis Building's scales or more like matching the heights of sims, but that's just me and my tastes. Boisemetro- Hey hey, getting better and better with every picture. I really like the way the modeling looks now. That top white trim seems to be still pretty thick compared to the real one though. When I said it should be less thick compared to what I did, I didn't mean by height. I'd scale that part specifically up a little bit. But that's just a matter of what I think on that part. Otherwise I can't wait to see textures once you get to that part.

Can't wait for the LOD one and the Underground parts tutorial.

Holy shiz! Glad to see you're still BATing! Fantastic work Bixel. -
Oh that modeling is great so far now. Scaling wise, definitely need to scale it up a bit more, scaling on the Z axis that is. I'm sure you know if you click and hold down on the scaling tool 2 more options will appear. You'd want to use the middle one of the total 3 scaling options when scaling this up a bit. Oh and generally, for the game floor heights that most people use I believe is about 4 meters. I tend to go over 4 meters slightly or occasionally use 5. Now other stuff on the model, I think the top white part needs to be a little less thick than what you have now. I exaggerated that in my sketch but I believe it's thickness that stretches on to the roof needs to be made thinner. Now, on your door, (where you have green part for the door frame so far) needs to be properly lined up. Notice how one side of the door is wider than the other? Is it like that on the real building? If not, I'd move that middle green line of the door to be more in the center where the door is divided more evenly. Other than that I think the roof junk will need more modeling work just a bit. I think some good points were already made on everything else. The facade looks great by the way.

Yes, yes, and yes. Great improvement on that wall texture. Overall the whole thing looks great. I love those details on the balconies that make it so alive. -
Oh the texture glitch where they turn grey? The only fix to that is simply re-applying the textures, or going to the material editor and re-selecting the texture itself that you retrieved from a folder or wherever you have your textures. Hey If I wasn't clear enough on that(I know I can be vague) I can show another picture later. Model is getting there. Is that glass final? It definitely needs to be edited for the future, but for now I'd focus on the modeling then the textures. T Wrecks made some great points, keep those in mind too. Looking forward for more! These buildings are just my type too so good choice. And it's a mid-rise. We all love more mid-rise buildings.
