Congratulations Jason! She's beautiful! It has really been exciting watching this remarkable project unfold from the beginning. The attention to detail is absolutely spot on (and you clearly would not have done any less!) and it will forever serve as yet another wonderfully modeled representative of Detroit's often overlooked architecture. Mr. Rowland would be proud!

She's a beauty alright!

Amazingly beautiful modeling, Jasoncw! So great to see your fantastic progress on this mipro crown jewel. Have you thought about just modeling the building without the 1950s modifications?

If you need good photos of the Guardian Building, one of the best books I know of is by James Tottis, called The Guardian Building: Cathedral of Finance. It has some remarkable interior and exterior shots and tons of history. Also, excellent job on the BAT. I am so excited that someone is finally putting this Detroit gem on SC4. All of the other BSP and MIPro lots are fantastic and are highly appreciated.

Crud! I just realized somebody already made the connection. Oh well.

Cahalane Communications looks very similar to Philadelphia's Three Logan Square (aka Bell Atlantic Tower).

I find it quite irritating when SC4 decides that I am done playing for the day! I don't know how specific I can be, but how come the game crashes randomly after a certain period of time? I am running SC4 on Vista, and I hear a certain sound coming from the hard drive, and that is when I know the game is about to crash. When I hear it, the game freezes, I can't save quickly, and within two seconds, my desktop appears. Are there patches or any fixes for this problem? Thank you very much.
This station is the best yet, but unfortunately I can't download the dependency textures or the other BCS files. They seem to be under administration control and/or missing, so I have a blue entranceway (sucks!). Can anyone reinstate those files or what ??
I am having the same problem. I have found these files (I think) on the LEX, but there is no change to the "blue abyss" walkway and grass.

The "CPUcount" has worked fine for me, I have been "ctrl-s"-ing, and the only thing crashing my game is the transit-enabled bug, and occasionally the crash from a quick zoom or an abrupt graphics change. But I can go much longer without crashing. I was crashing every 15-20 minutes like you were.

All right, I see. Thanks!

What do you mean by "Drop it into the input," A Nonny Moose? I run system maintenance about once a month or more, if C-Cleaner counts. I tried the "-CPUcount:1" and my game hasn't crashed the way it has been ever since. Does adding this on force the game to run on one core? By the way, thank you all for the responses.

Selbring County | Vallence & Summary

Thank you for your beautiful, magnificent, and genuinely realistic model of the actual buildings and memorials being constructed in New York City. I am absolutely speechless. I'm also especially grateful for your honoring of all the lives lost on that day ten years ago, and for their families as well. I think that this is a monumental symbol of recovery, remembrance, and especially hope for all. Thank you so very much. God Bless You.

Does plopping CO$$$ buildings cause CO$$$ demand to sink to the bottom?
jsimcity4 posted a topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I recently started a new set of cities in my region, all of which have fairly high demand for residential and commercial. I was not struggling to keep CO$$$ demand above zero, which I tried to do with my other cities. In those other cities, I had plopped several CO$$$ skyscrapers. I wanted to do the same with my new cities, but when I plopped one, my CO$$$ demand went below the floor. I guess I don't understand why this happens?? But, I now realize why CO$$$ demand is so low in the other cities in my region. When I plop a CO$$$ building, am I flooding the demand for CO$$$, and therefore causing demand to crash and burn? Thanks. -

Thank you very much for the advice! Cogeo. I have your Chamber and the Census Repository and I find it very useful to see all the information I need. -

If you use this cheat, you will never learn to play this game properly. Why not just read the articles in the Omnibus, run the tutorials and think about what you are doing. You don't need to rush into a megalopolis just because there are nice CJs and illustrations around. If you avoid such things and work at it, you can become a real SC4 artists and city craftsperson. Lately, I've become very disenchanted with huge cities and am working on a collection of villages across several large tiles. I find this more satisfying than chasing after skyscrapers. I agree. Thanks for the offer, Zulu, but I really have no intention of using the Ploppomatic 9000. I have seen many radical demand mods, and each one makes the game less fun, and much less of a challenge. Also, thank you very much for the advice A Nonny Moose! I will keep that in mind!! -

Thank you. That is what I was thinking was happening. -
Please, what happened to simcity official exchange site?
jsimcity4 replied to Oscar_Lopez888's topic in Community Goings-on
I am almost certain that it is down. I remember when they took The Sims 1 official site down. It took forever to load, and finally, one day, the URL was "not found." In fact, the site went down shortly after I called (then e-mailed) EA for help with registration. Their technical support doesn't seem to pay much attention to SC4 anymore. The EA e-mail guy's name was spelled two different ways!! Anyways, I wouldn't expect the site to come back up. I personally got most of the EA downloads from this site. There is a user who got permission from EA to post the extras on Simtropolis. -

I love the Cross Process!!!! It reminds me of the early days of color photography/film, like the footage you see in documentaries. It looks great!!!! Thanks!!!- 18 Comments

Oh, sigh...... I'd have to say commercial buildings (and/or landmarks). I am obsessed with thoughts about creating sparkling cities with very tall (Burj-Khalifa-Kind-Of-Height) buildings in the center. I think I try too hard on this game though, but I can't stay away from it!!!!!!
