  1. This looks amazing Tarkus! But what really interests me is that you stated this is an entirely FHW free city. Provided there are multiple freeways, that means you have put RHWMIS pieces to really interesting and exciting uses. I can't wait to see this!
  2. Hunters Warehouse and Storage Co BSC Don Miguel

Amazing building, it has the massive feel you get from industrial areas.
  3. Just a clarification, Tarkus. The original RHW Elevated release will be 15m only, correct? If you add 30m and 45m pieces as well, I can only imagine the interchanges that I could come up with.
  4. I don't know if any of the retaining wall BATers read this thread (cough BuddyBud, jeronji) but some embankments for the ramps would look amazing. Just a thought.
  5. Congratulations Tarkus, this is incredibly impressive. I'm at a loss for words! It seems that New Mississippi will have a major highway rebuilding project in the (hopefully) near future.
  6. Looking great, Tarkus. I can't wait for a release.
  7. School Pack Volume Two BSC

Another excellent release. Keep up the good work, you're among my favorite BATers!
  8. High Tension poles

    Excellent!
  9. @qurlix: Is there any way for there be a fully signalled road/RHW junction in the future? Here in the Deep South the RHW looks MUCH more like the divided highways of the region than avenues do. In many locations where a busier 2-lane highway intersects a 4-lane divided highway there is a stoplight. Not only that, it would give us further options in the flexibility and expandibility of the RHW system. That is, go from RHW-2 to RHW-4 with cross traffic to RHW-4 with limited access to RHW-10. Just a thought for future releases. If it "magically" appeared in the next release I'd be absolutely amazed. Keep up the great work!
  10. Double decker highway pieces

So...I nominate Fukuda, the God of the Bridge, for a 2007 Trixie, whether or not he actually gets this released. I agree with ryanb_sc4: it is absolutely disgustingly awesome.
  11. NAM: Development

Andreas, I just wanted to say that you're my hero for reasons that are beyond comprehension. As for this moment, your confirmation that a new NAM exists and is waiting for the god-like hand of Dirk to make it available to the common folk makes me idolize you. With Much Respect, A rather intoxicated BigSlark
  12. King of Donair

    Nicely done. 10/10.
  13. Very impressive! I can't wait until these get released. I assume they have to be on their own seperate lot and not automatically appear as a prop when the crossing is made? I also agree with hamsterTK, long ones that cover the entire roadway would be awesome.
  14. Dutch Church Spaarnwoude

Amazing work, keep it up. I just may have build a European region one of these days.
  15. Post Your Picture Here!

@football_fever: I'd let her more than just hang out in my room if I were you. Just sayin' man.
  16. The Simtropolis Annuarians Club

I'm not far off from being a Veteran, less than 2 months away. Woohoo!
  17. Concrete Avenues Mod: In Development

I like what you have so far. Keep on with the coloring as concrete roads have different materials in different regions, therefore different colors appear when fading occurs. For example, here in Mississippi EVERYTHING that comes out of the ground has clay in or on it, so concrete roads get a slight clay tinge to them when they wear.
  18. RHW - Questions, Errors, and Testing

I've been using RHW more and more, and I have found another bug. The RHW-4 to FHW transition isn't pathed per Buggi's .dll draw paths cheat. In case anyone would like to know an easy fix, I use a short section of avenue to connect the two. Keep up the good work on RHW, can't wait for the next release. I'm drooling over RHW-10 and ramps.
  19. Tonksies BAT Thread NDEX

Any chance of any more rail stations ILL Tonkso?
  20. I'm not entirely sure how the RHW10 is going to be split, and after reading several posts and examining the textures, this is what I've come up with. My take on it is that there will RHW4 roadways parallel, followed by a bridge, allowing them to go different directions while keep grade seperation? If this is the case, keep on guys. There's a place here in Jackson, MS where a 5-lane roadway splits into two 2-lane roadways. I'll see what the striping situation is tomorrow and attempt to PS what I've seen of the transion. And I'd just like to say the recent RHW work is amazing, keep it up everyone and I can't wait for the next release!
  21. NAM General Discussion Thread

I SWEAR I have seen CJ's that feature the "other network" tunnels, i.e. streets, EL, etc. that NAM enables with actual tunnel portals. When ever I make a street tunnel there are just holes terrain that show through to the blue world the map is floating on. Is there a file that I'm missing? Any suggestions? Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
  22. New Mississippi

Welcome to New Mississippi Welcome to Biloxi As part of the planning process, the New Mississippi Council decided that the only effective way to get citizens to their new homes was to disembark them in groups of a few hundred at a time, to then take the five day sea journey from the spaceport at Gold Isle to their new land. Nearly 2 millon people fled Mississippi on their mothership, the Magnolia, and the development to support all of them may take years. With no time to waste, the New Mississippi Department of Transportation, New Mississippi Development Authority, and New Mississippi Council all got to work on their foothold in a new land: Biloxi. The overview of the small port of Biloxi a few months after its completion. The cargo ship in the foreground is delivering supplies for the town's next expansion. The central north-south street, running from the dock, is Main Street. The east-west streets are numbering 1st Street, 2nd Street, etc. starting at the port and going north. To the east and west of Main Street are 1st Avenue East and 1st Avenue West, respectively. The old Catholic Diocese of Biloxi was the first religious group to build a house of worship in the new territory, beautiful St. Peter's Church was erected at Main and 5th Streets. ~ Edited by Chocolatemax, please keep all images at or under 800x600, thanks. ~ http://home.millsaps.edu/~slarkkw/cj/biloxi/biloxi-2-3.jpg In preparation for the development of Gulfport, to the west, a light-duty street has been constructed out of Biloxi. The stone bridge was used as many rocks were excavated during construction for the town and the Department of Transportation's engineer decided to use this "free" material, for a beautiful effect. As the town grew, the need for expansion became clear. The City Council, along with NMSDOT and the New Mississippi Development Authority, decided that constructing a bridge across Bayou Biloxi would help future development. While the truss bridge is focal point, you can see that the industrial area near the port has attracted some manufacturing and food service plants, allowing Biloxi to get closer to self-suffiency. As the town grew, NMDA officals decided that a lumber mill was needed, so a site was selected on the future Inland Highway on the banks of the Biloxi Bayou. At this location, the mill is close enough to the port to easily export any surplus yet is far enough away to keep land values up in the residental areas. Now that the city has a steady supply of building materials, a new hospital, the temporary railroad terminal, and many new houses have grown up on the other side of the Second Street Bridge. The large Biloxi Regional Hospital will serve as the major healthcare center until the rest of the territory is able to construct their own hospitals. As for the railroad terminal, this relatively small station is merely a placeholder according to NMSDOT, they envision a copy of a grand station on earth occupying this spot. It quickly came to the New Mississippi Council's attention that the citizens leaving from Gold Isle often were unable to bring all of their belongings with them and had to endure cramped, dark, and musty quarters on cargo ships. The result was the construction of a passenger ship terminal and the acquistion of a passenger and truck ferry from the Organization of American States. The influx of people that the Terminal brought led to the development of another neighborhood, just south of the hospital along the ocean's shore. That's all for now, come back soon for another update on the growth of New Mississippi!
  23. New Mississippi

Welcometo New Mississippi The Technical Stuff As is customary with City Journals, here was what I'm using to get the game where I play it and share my creation with all of you. I, like everyone else, use NAM, with some nifty GLR stations and extra track pieces that will make their appearance later in this CJ, as well as the RHW beta. I also have Trolca's Street Mod with Jeronij's Diagonal Mod and Fix for it. Speaking of Jeronij, I also use his Street Side mod as I feel it gets us closer to SC5. Cycledogg's Columbus Terrain Mod and Trees are also used, I'm more than happy to locate my Southern-esque CJ in such a beautiful Pacific Northwest setting. There are many BSC, CSX, and NDEX BATs and lots in use, especially farms and railroad stations. I'm a big fan of railroad stations and throughly enjoy the variety that we now have on the STEX. Northcountrydude's rail yards will also eventually make an appearance. I'm a bit of a rail transportation (heavy, GLR, and elevated), so expect lots of mass transit. As for game play mechanics, I have the 5x capacity and perfect pathfinding enabled through NAM. I also have Radical Ordinances, and use them when I find it necessary. I also have the Industry Quadrupler, its one that I really like. Most of my cities have balanced budgets, however, those that are build in such a way that its impossible, an ancient Money Tree lot is used to give the city a quick infusion of $10,000,000,000. If anyone's lot's/BAT's get featured and you'd like credit, please let me know and I'll edit the caption. Now on to the update...
  24. New Mississippi

New Mississippi Replies @Everyone That Is Looking Forward to More or is intrigued: Keep looking! I'll be updating very soon, I promise! @Ded: Thanks, it was the best mothership I could come up with that wasn't from Star Wars or Star Trek. Besides, I felt it should be CGI. @ccecill: I'm at student at Millsaps in Jackson. I thought about doing Jackson first, but the whole sea level water problem coupled with the Ross Barnett Resevior problem was proving to be difficult, even with the various pond kits it just didn't look right to me. And don't get me started on the highway problems that would arise with The Stack.
  25. @Tarkus You deserve a Trixie for this project! The work that's been done so far is amazing. I'm waiting for the next release before starting my CJ.
