6 pointsMany thanks everyone - I'm surprised but nevertheless happy that this GLR thing might have legs. For the brave and daring amongst you I've made up two demo .dats for you to try out. They can be found here on my one drive (7MB each) and start 202505 RVT GLR Reskin v2. One is for MAXIS as a default, the second uses the SV grass and MGB sidewalks. Both use Street for Tram in Street rather than SAM8. Standard drill: You need to make sure they are the last thing to load or you may get odd results. As it is WIP they will not be perfect in lots of ways, but you will get a good sense of what the overall change is. I would love to see some before/after scenes. Now the most obvious shortcoming is that Stations will retain the textures they were made with. For some obscure reason almost all GLR ststions are made by using the default $$ wealth paving and overlaying rails. Looks like this: This won't be changed by this mod. So far its the only part of GLR that won't automatically adapt. Unlike rail (RRW), there was never a dedicated base texture. Some custom stations with their own base textures will change. For this to work long term we need another solution and I'm still in two minds as to whether a new dedicated base texture either with or without rail is better. I'm beginning to favour the latter as its less disruptive of the lots which will need editing. For demo purposes I have modded a couple to show how seamless it can be: NAM diag AVE station and MGBs ace corner station: Finally to answer a few questions. As with all the GoFSH scripted mods, the Grass and Paving can be selected and the Dirt00 texture is used here to determine the underlay for the rail. This means you can make this match everything else you've set up. Once released, you run the script and you've got your unique setup. It takes a less than a minute to run. I've maintained the original GLR gauge specifications but the rail itself is no longer white and is 3 instead of 4 pixels wide which gives it a more HD feel. The underlays are deliberately scaled to be unobtrusive and cause minimal disruption to the rail. I am however pushing the edges of envelope and aliasing shows up in curves. Random uses of GLR elsewhere will fit - the old rail may look a bit bright or damaged. You will see in particular that TiA has very dark intersections and very bright rail - its an area that still needs work and is particularly fiddly (and is quietly driving me mad).

Going through my files and comments here, they were originally uploaded onto the old SimCity4 official exchange, and I'm not sure if they were hosted anywhere else. In game, the files I have by SimLooney2000 appear as below (I believe there may be an error with one of the uploaded models): Since they apparently were on the official exchange, will need to check on whether these can be considered 'lost' files... 5 pointsYes, this time it's for real. The SENT mod is FINISHED! Maxis Street is now possible with SENT, and parking spaces are available for the OWR-1 in white, yellow and blue. However, for reasons of complexity, the unmarked rural road is an abandoned project, sorry. The SENT mod will be released very soon on the STEX. Just one question: is there a tool for converting .PNG files whose name is the texture ID to .FSH HD? I use the “PNG to FSH Batch” tool which is excellent, but does not offer conversion to HD for .PNG files whose name is the ID.

From the changelog: In particular, it's now possible to export and import a selection of installed packages and share them as a mod set in form of a JSON file. This is how it looks like in action. The fields are all optional, so you can omit some of them if you want (for example, if you don't want to prescribe a specific variant of a package). In any case, after closing the Import dialog, users can choose which packages and variants to keep. Some packages now define conflicts in their metadata. This is what would happen if you install conflicting packages: If you install any DLL files with sc4pac, the following dialog now provides information about the origin of the files – as a measure of caution. This is intended to help you assess whether the DLL and its metadata are downloaded from trusted locations, usually the DLL author's GitHub page. Checksums are used to ensure that the downloaded DLL and the metadata match. Finally, there's now an option to use a local copy of a file as fallback if sc4pac did not manage to download it, for one reason or another. @Monteverdi @MagicSpear This now provides a workaround for the problem you encountered with the forum attachments. Just download the file normally in your web browser and then select it.

This mod aims to convert the textures of the base game's road networks and those of the NAM into new, more detailed ones with an aesthetic closer to what is done in Europe and Switzerland. To do this, the textures were created with 4 variants : • RHD/White - Driving on the right with white pedestrian crossing • LHD/White - Driving on the left with white pedestrian crossing • RHD/Yellow - Driving on the right with yellow pedestrian crossing • LHD/Yellow - Driving on the left with yellow pedestrian crossing SENT currently covers 3 different networks : • One-way road, 1-lane / OWR1 (NAM) • One-way road, 2-lane / OWR2 (Maxis) • Road / RD2 (Maxis) The textures were designed with a European feel, but also for audiences beyond the Old Continent. For example, the LHD/Yellow variation is more suited to Hong Kong, while LHD/White might be suitable for Great Britain as well as some Asian countries. While RHD/Yellow and RHD/White are more suited to Switzerland and Europe, respectively. Please be sure to read the entire "Read me" file that is distributed in the SENT mod installer. 3 pointsI don't understand it. GLR stations has no dedicated base texture, they are using the maxis white, so they can be sidewalk adaptive. The tracks can be easily overwritten. @rsc204 used a sandstone overlay below the tracks. Since NAM v49 all the GLR station related LotTextures can be found is this DAT: Network Addon Mod\8 Texture and Drive Side Support\z_LOTs and Stations Support\Textures\GLR-TRAM_Station_Textures_LotSupport.dat. Generating an override overlay for the tracks, which matches the colour of the mod would be that hard? I mean in theory it would be just adopting the NAM lot supportive textures into the script, similiarly how the RRW Lotting textures are working. There are even less scattered GLR textures over the exchanges, than rail textures used to be (which you covered now 99% with the RRW 3rd party reskins). Besides the above set, Uki-Sim has some custom TIR/TOR/GLR textures, the BSC Textures Vol02 has a copy of cogeo's/ebina's island type GLR textures, and I have a series of GLR overlays that I made for my various GLR station lot sets** (most of my GLR textures have overrides provided by me for @rsc204's Sandstone GLR which is part of the SWN) **bear in mind, that the 6 overlays in the bottom line with the switches are not meant to be overridden (and I think I haven't released them yet), as they act as no sleeper-no balast GLR/rail textues (I think they were derived from rsc204's rail depot texture set). What I am saying that there isn't that many textures that would require override coverage, as most of the GLR stations uses the 0x580cc700 overlay from NAM. Originally NAM and probably other diagonal stations used the 0x580d3700 overlay (which seems to be a $$$ wealth texture), but since NAM v49 I changed the diagonal lotting textures to the new 0x580cc705 ID and I updated the lots in NAM.

3 pointsSimCity 4 Vanilla gameplay III ! Spend some time on my vanilla gameplay ! Last time I had some agricultural setup, now I have a industrial and business setup ! This might be little dry display, but true vanilla gameplay is hard to meet a positive balance ! This industrial tile only survive by being subsidized by several army bases north of the industrial area ! Some years beyond this profited in to the build of a natual gas powerplant wich stabalize the energy requirements ! There are no residents in this zone so everything has to come from industry and special reward bring in the money ! East of this the first business zone, residential and business this had to grow to this size to break even ! This without any special community gifts, except two elementary schools an fire department and police service ! Little regional comparison view of non inhabitated and mixed agri residential or business residentals ! Any thing fancy there need to be a substantial citizens rise. Some mid rise to be expected, rise of education level slowly a highschool. Little parks and pleasure element added in time ! Parallel I might as well play a unristricted gameplay with bat´s and lots with the deluxe version some more fancy SimCity 4 ! Enjoy !

2 pointsAm wondering if setting up a public club would be a solution rather that as file attachments in posts, that's what I did when I was closing down my old website, the files either ended up on the STEX or in the city builders club, I did the same when we were about to lose the SC2 and SC3000 sites ... I copied over everything it was possible to save to the clubs, unless it was a document in which case it went into the omnibus

2 pointsThanks Tibi, I have all of those in the mod so far. (they're also in the SWN as rsc204 notes). The others you show are not and I'll eventually get to them I guess - only those with rail embedded in texture are potentially relevant here - and it depends on their unique usage whether its desired/needed at all. The reference list is very useful. The point I was making is that Lots using the $$ Paving base texture with GLRail overlay method will not automatically get updated using this mod because it (the $$ paving) is used everywhere for a number of purposes. The rail itself has been regenerated. I've gone for two new modifiable base textures (just $$ paving with the undertrack texture inside it, 1 orth and 1 diag) for those stations that people may want to adapt - its by no means a fixed requirement. They're trivial to make and automate but the lot needs to be modified manually to apply them. Yes its Dirt00 in the scripts so you can do grass, paving and center paving all at once. 2 pointsAwesome work. I'd definitely prefer this over the current white pavement GLR. Is there any way the sidewalk could be adapted to a custom sidewalk? I can live with a solution where I have to bake my own sidewalk in, but I'd like to see a way to speed this process up somehow.

2 pointsI've been getting to grips with the 900+ tiles that comprise the Ground Light Rail component of the NAM. It's a mighty piece of the NAM, very clever and extensive, but it has experienced many years of relative neglect, both in textures and player usage in-game. It looks like this: (Random scene in SC4 Vanilla + NAM) While still WIP, I've now redrawn over 80% of it using modern methods either from scratch, or by editing existing textures, and have produced a new GoFSH generating archive. Would you use GLR more if it looked like this? (Two tiles here are not yet updated) and you could do this with it?

Of the 6 fallen Ancient Wonders, the Lighthouse was the last to fall. Lost to The Ages, a team from the Pegadyne Oceanographic Institute recently located and recovered the ruins from the harbor of Alexandria. Strapped for cash, the local government eagerly sold the ruins to Pegadyne Industries who carefully preserved and transported them back to your city. And there, as yet another public relations coup for the corporation, the ruins have been restored to their prior glory and now serve as a museum of Ancient Civilization for all the world to enjoy. " This 8x8 lot (10x10 actual) historical landmark functions as a museum and serious tourist magnet. It contains all the properties and benefits of a normal museum (except plop price) and also includes the benefits of a landmark and tourist attraction. This is a massive monument, Boys & Girls... assembled modular style from 10 basic interconnecting models. Numerous other custom props, textures, and sound effects were designed exclusively for this lot... including 14 individual offset-rendered props and models just for the seawalls alone. 1 pointThank you for your comment @Ernestmaxis, I'm glad to see that my work can give satisfaction! Progress continues and there are a few new features... I've finished the rural intersections (crossroads linked in drag to a street), there are a few more additions for the FTLs, SITAP is finished (I think), the 3x3 traffic circles have been completely redone, the flex/drag parts for the OWR and ROAD ramps are finished, and I've also done the old FTLs (legacy). Added to this is a new road type for fields (0x00000070), the same as I've done before but without road markings except at intersections. This gives you a choice of two options for farm roads. In addition to the road, the SENT project also includes full coverage of the OWR-2 and OWR-1 networks. As you'll see from the images below, the three are linked and it would be a shame not to do them together. For the moment, the single OWR-2 / OWR-1 segments to drag are not yet done, but that will come a little later. Parking bays are still available as options for OWR-1 (low-density and high-density). ... And of course, everything is available in yellow or white, with LHD or RHD. In the pictures, it's all in LHD yellow!
