8 pointsmaikeli - It sure is T Wrecks - I'll try to write it correctly next time Ferrt, Darknono & Terring - Thanks Bit more done, added the bank attached to the tower but i've taken a few liberties due to a lack of reference pics also roof ids pretty much done. I'm currently redoing the entrances so no funny comments about how no one can get in

3 pointsThose will all come, but I'm remaking most of them. Chase Tower has experienced so many glitches that it is not salvageable, so I'm using the shell to remake it. Daley center I am going to remake from scratch at some point. 333 Wacker I again need to remodel some parts of it, but it is the closest to release of them all. I do have a bit of a secret project in the works that I will be working on exclusively until it is done, however. I will post what that is and the progress I've made when I think it is ready to be revealed. I am positive you all will like it when it is finished, however.

3 pointsWow, that was quick response... Possibly because its a cut out it looks funny at this angle. Here I've exaggerated the thickness, I think this looks a bit better...?

3 pointsThanks everyone Another short break from the library.. and if Xander's right this should complete Melbourne's top 10 (for now) Telstra Corporate Centre:

2 pointsThe weather is getting better every day and Ionicans just want to blow off some steam. Where do they go? To Peach Blossom Bay of course, in the Zone known as Huang Yaoshi. This Zone gets its name from one of the Five Greats of the wulin (martial artists' community) during the Song dynasty. A man nicknamed "Eastern Heretic" for being an unorthodox radical who behaves as he wishes without showing any regard for formalities or moral ethics. The nightlife in Huang Yaoshi is currently the envy of Ionica and is quickly becoming the hottest tourist attraction in the known galaxy. Time to go wild! (click on images to view full 1080p) Q1, seen in the picture above, is one of the tallest residential towers in Ionica and it is the tallest building in Huang Yaoshi. It offers 526 elite and exclusive one, two and three bedroom apartments rise up into the sky, capturing breathtaking views of Peach Blossom Bay. Each elegant, state-of-the-art apartment delivers an uncompromising sense of space, freedom and a sleek, modern design. It encapsulates world-class recreational, dinning and retail precincts with tropical landscaping, resort pools, day spa, meeting and conference facilities, a sophisticated dining precinct and complimentary secure car parking for resort guests. Ocean's 27 (below) is a chain of nightclubs in Ionica but the one is Huang Yaoshi is often considered to be the best. It has 5 different rooms, each with state of the art sound systems and luxurious VIP lounges for high rollers. The marinas are designed in the style of the French Riviera and it is almost a surreal experience to be able to go from densely packed high-rises to a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere. Huang Yaoshi has two separate Mediterranean style Marinas; one in an L shape, the other in a T shape. The Grand Hyatt in Huang Yaoshi is an award winning 5 star hotels which features direct access and amazing views of the marinas as well as first class facilities which include; spectacular upper and lower lobbies, the restaurant Collins Kitchen; RU-CO (Bar of the Year); City Club, a state-of-the-art gym and a swathe of couture boutiques. The GT Tower next to the Grand Hyatt is one of the most unique buildings in Ionica. The facade renders the idea of undulating waves and it reflects the affinity for water which Ionicans have. The tower seems to be rising from the soil as if it moves at top and beautiful effects are performed by the light that reflects in the glass, making the building a very impressive sight to behold. Ah, Science and Religion side by side in harmony. Here we see the Gothic style St. Paul's Cathedral next to the high-tech and modern Eicosakis Biology Research Center. Both have unimpeded access and view of the marinas. The Militant Developments building seen in the picture below belongs to The Militant Group, a Real Estate and Banking conglomerate; the richest and most powerful in Ionica. They own practically all the waterfront property in the city. The Militant Group faced many charges of corruption over the years but they always prevail in court because their lawyers know all the loopholes. At least they are devoted to making the city look nice. The Spinnaker, modeled after a special type of sail that is designed specifically for sailing off the wind from a reaching course to a downwind, is an observation tower open and free to the public. At the top is a triple observation deck, providing a 360° view of Peach Blossom Bay. The first deck features glass floor which visitors can stand on. The highest of the three observation platforms, the crow's nest, has only a wire mesh roof, so visitors are open to the elements. A series of four mid-rise Suites Hotels known as Les Quatres Jardins lines the southern side of the T-shaped marina. The rooms are luxurious but actually fairly cheap to rent out. A constant influx of visitors allows them to keep the price low and still make lots of profit. The building in the top right corner is the Tong YQ Library. It has a number of facilities including an auditorium, cubicles of Ionican culture, an atrium, meeting room, Internet room, small mosque, café, cafeteria and Energy Corner. On the other side of Peach Blossom Bay is Peach Blossom Island which has mainly low density residential and commercial buildings but at the waterfront there are still a few mid-rise and hi-rise apartments designed to provide amazing views of the city across the bay. The Redemption Lighthouse is now well over 80 years old but it still illuminates the harbor as brightly as ever despite the fact that its actual usefulness has long since passed. These modern walk-ups (3 of 6) right at sea level in the T-shaped marina are probably some of the most exclusive residences in Ionica, but maybe if you know the right person (me) you can get one. They feature private docks and residents are seconds away (on foot) from virtually every landmark shown in this entry. The perfect place to end the night is the Ionican Star Observation Wheel. Spectacularly lit and open 'till 4am on Fridays and Saturdays, it is 120m tall and has seven spokes forming a seven pointed star. One complete rotation takes 30 minutes and provides uninterrupted 360-degree views of up to 40 kilometers, encompassing all of Peach Blossom Bay. Special thanks to: - OIScare/Benoit for unofficially releasing and providing the long list of dependencies for their beautiful custom marinas from their amazing CJ entry: Med Inspirations - French Riviera - Magneto for patiently teaching me how to reassign building types . - reddonquixote for releasing a wonderful series of Australian BATs in late 2013 - early 2014. This tile wouldn't be the same without them. - nbvc whose content is indispensable when creating water scenes. - KonstantinII for creating an Ionican Banner which I'm using everywhere now. Comments, suggestions, and questions are always appreciated. Thanks for visiting. Wallibuk, raynev1, agnostiskbarn, slickbg56, Neto Dari, Tonraq, sejr99999 Thanks for your comments and support. Stay tuned. fan o SC4: Each picture has so much going on, but that's a good thing. And those condos with the pools, overlooking the marina, they must cost a fortune. Also no word to describe the quality of your marinas, they make all other marinas look bad. Heh, thanks, but I'm still playing catchup to people like paeng and OlScare/Benoit. pingpong: That yacht club, is simply FABULOUS. I really love the contrast between day view and night view. Thanks, I just can't deny my love for the night lights. Schulmanator: Impressive work. I wanna visit! Come soon Schul, thanks. KonstantinII: It looks like this zone is a bit older than the other ones. And I really do like the small park next to the boats complex. One who lives in the tall condos might take a walk there. I meant this zone seems older in style, of course it is the newest one you made. Maybe because some of the buildings look more weathered, that's all. Yeah I think it looks a bit older cause of those PEG Marinas, also despite a few hi-rises most of the building aren't that tall. Thanks. blunder: That marine luminescence never gets old. Yeah, but I've kinda backed myself into a corner where it feels like I have to do it every time now. Thanks. scissors: Really nice to see the Vesteda (two times) in a different setting then from when I look out the window here in Eindhoven. It fits perfectly well in your city as well. I love the Vesteda! How lucky you must be to be able to see the real life version of such a beautifully rendered BAT. Thanks. sarthakknight: oh man i wanna visit this beautiful modern city !!! why u no real?? awesome update though!! Wouldn't that be nice. Thanks sarthakknight. TekindusT: Oh, the night mosaics...! If you liked those then I think you'll really appreciate the pics in the entry above. Thanks. tankmank: Great mosaics. I like the use of the raised parks, rarely see them used, and i think they work great. Bixel was a BAT master, I wish he'd drop a few more on us. Thanks. Richie99: That marina!!!OMG this is so gorgeous that I feel like starting work on the marina in my port city right away.Great stuff and your pictures are cool as always. Inspiration is the first step. Glad I could be your muse. Best of luck. Thanks. Casper3141: Has a Miami look to me anyways with all those skyrises and then a great looking harbor across the street, I like how you have used the maxis freeway through the area, seems to blend in just right Hah, maybe I was inspired by watching so much CSI Miami while playing SC4. Thanks.

2 pointsSo there's this really brilliant comic someone did a couple of years ago. Basically, there's some magic overhead ice cream dispenser, a man standing on one side and a woman standing on the other. Scoops are dispensed from the dispenser at random intervals. So it begins, the man sticks his cone under and catches the first scoop, then the second, then the third. On the fourth, the woman manages to beat him to the punch and stick her cone under before he does. Outraged, the man screams "MISANDRY! FEMINAZI STOLE MY ICE CREAM!" You're the person screaming "FEMINAZI STOLE MY ICE CREAM!" This is privilege blindness--male-dominance has become so taken-for-granted, so naturalized, that even the most minor and insufficient attempts to rectify the situation appear, to those who enjoy unexamined privilege, to actually be oppressive. It's not, of course--it's the exact opposite, it's correcting oppression (there have been males that have been victims of systemic oppression, yes, but not of oppression directed at males specifically, which is kind of important). It's like, imagine Jordan and Taylor are roommates, and and Jordan's hogging the shower 18 hours of every day only giving Taylor six hours--and those six hours just happen to be during the time she absolutely needs to sleep so she can be well-rested to perform at work the next day. Feminists are trying to create a schedule that will guarantee Taylor an extra six hours (assume for the purposes of this example that installing a new bathroom or moving to a new apartment are not feasible alternatives), and you're saying, "Well, if Taylor gets an extra six hours a day then in the interests of fairness and equality Jordan should get an extra six hours a day as well." Ask yourself what the purpose of "Women's Day" is, and if you can answer correctly then the absurdity of a corresponding "Men's Day" will become obvious. And it's feminists who are pushing for e.g. paternity leave, precisely because the gender roles that associate infant nurturing with women and not men are artifacts of the very patriarchy that feminists oppose.

2 pointsRealized I don't like keeping secrets and it's kind of pointless anyways. I won't be updating this thread in a while regardless, though. The goal of this next project is to almost completely recreate the loop. I've gotten the blockouts of all major buildings done and I've started the difficult part. Once everything has shape I'll show any further pics. And I'm sure some of you will recognize this view Anyways, I want to get to know all of Chicagos buildings for myself personally, and this is always the best way. My favorite building is the one I'm working on I think I've done the most difficult building in terms of shape already, though. Three First National Plaza was very awkward to get accurate. Also, you'll see the new version of chase tower already taken form as well. Anyways, what I hope to do in terms of Simcity after this, is of course to release most of the buildings, but and idea that I had for most of them, because they will be unfinished, is to give some newer BATers a chance to work on a building that's already got the most difficult part finished--proportions and form--and have a chance to finish and detail it. My very favorite buildings I will keep to myself though One thing I am wondering, though. The Thompson center is easily the most hideous building in existence, but the first building on the lot, I think it was Sherwood hotel? Was absolutely stunningly beautiful. If I can get reference for that building, I would definitely replace Thompson in my recreation and eventually release it on the STEX but it's hard to find, so I'd like to draft some help. Specifically, Vlasky, if you see this, you are amazing at this stuff, would you help find some old photos?

What amounts to 10% magnification thumbnail (you can make out some detail!): ...and here's a 75% closeup of the area just to the left of center above: A lot still needs to be done, i.e. route labeling, parks, POIs, etc. but the bones are done at least.

2 pointsReplies: MilitantRadical: Thanks a lot. See your PM for the link. sarthakknight: The coal power plant was a great find. Also, enjoy using the pulping plant. city89: Your comment cheered me up, thank you. Vitor13: Cheers! TekindusT: As always, I lurve customized industry. suomi2005: Thank you. tankmank: I guess different perspectives do help... NMUSpidey: To get results you need to put in the time, I reckon I spent at least twenty hours working on Treblane. Twenty hours and two sleepless weekends! simlink: Thanks. Update 28: The marshland, lakes and scree slopes of Stokesley Going back to Stokesley again and this time we take a trip around the area west of Toral's Peak. This area! For the stream I tried a softer, and greener, approach to the banks. As always the versatile Heblem paths can be used just about anywhere to paint in a pebbly surface. A small marshland. Inspired by numerous walks around the Pennines and the Howgills, I decided to give it my best shot at creating extensive marshes. Love the reeds, they almost look the same as the ones which grow in the Pennines and the Howgills, except the SC4 ones are of a darker green. The northern part of Bogee Lake. For some reason the water shifted several metres in four different ways with each respective view rotation. As such I had to make the shoreline wider. Another waterfall. With hindsight I wished I had used one of the Pegasus ones which are smaller... Here is another attempt at creating a scree slope. The end of the journey... /// There is one more thing to show in Stokesley, but that will be for a mini-update. For now it is back to Treblane plus night-time entries of my other cities. Once my exams are done I will start on other projects. The first one is a city divided in two by the river, with one half comprised of industrial wasteland and poorer areas, while the second half is one of agriculture and countryside. Other things I have on my wishlist are: massive hydroelectric dam; huge coalpit; lumber industries; seaport complex. And finally some kind of miniature version of Los Angeles, GTA V style. As for regional views, well, I don't expect to show any for a long time since I work on different tiles in the same region which are spaced apart considerably.

2 pointsHi everyone. Just passing by and definetly want to upload all the Tudor City that I did few weeks ago with Gmax before entering to a new design. So i prefer finishing these ones and starting something very new then once able to render stuffs with 3ds. While both Prospect and Tudor are completed (only windows textures need some more variations), Woodstock need the same treatment for windows and some roofs and terraces junks). Here some renders :

2 pointsThank you, Hal! I'm absolutely no fan of the new SimCity, but this DDI actually looks pretty decent. Meanwhile I continued my experiments with diagonal on-slope transitions. It was quite tedious to build, but here it is: Another full stack interchange. Have fun! Close-up:

2 pointsI'm still in bad shape, and the worst may or may not yet to come, but there are still a few more things to show you and still a few more things to explore in future entries. Still, thanks for the support Benedict and Schulmanator. Let's start with Treblane's night life. For some reason night pictures never really crossed by mind, but after sorting out some kinks I got it sorted out. Please note that I use Maxis night, or Hollywood night as I like to think of it. Despite the night time mods out there, I don't really like them because they make things too dark. Having said there is a small night-time mod I use which alters the light cones from streetlights, this I do like. And now, let us start... Welcome to the nightlive, let us travel to... The industrial heartland of Treblane; the south of Clackney Flats. At night the TULEPs look super sexy... The Clackney Flats coal powered station. I lurve how the pulp illuminates in this pulping plant. The northern part of the coal complex. Such beauty, whoever created this coal pile did an amazing job with the luminosity of the coal. And now here is what you've really been dying to see- Treblane's CBD. My favourite street in Treblane's CBD... Here is my RHW interchange complex, my first attempt at such complicated transit networks. And a few lakes to spruce things up... Why not? Next entry we will return back to Stokesley where is there is another lake to explore plus streams, marshes and scree slopes...

1 pointEdit: Available again, after getting the correct controller in place. Thank you for your patience. In honor of the 11th anniversary of SimCity 4's release, the NAM Team is pleased to announce the arrival of the full release of the 32nd edition of the NAM, NAM 32. New features in Version 32--January 14, 2014 NAM 32 is a full package, which improves upon the earlier NAM 31.2 release and NAM 32 Pre-Release. Note that the NAM requires a retail copy (disc or digital) of SimCity 4 Deluxe to run. The NAM Elevated Viaducts for Roads, One-Way Roads, and Avenues are now available in a draggable form, at both Level 1 (7.5 meter) and Level 2 (15 meter) heights, complete with FLEX Height and On-Slope transitions. Overpass situations involving one or more diagonal networks are not yet supported, and will not be available until a future NAM release after Version 32. Elevated Rail-over-Avenue and Elevated Rail-over-NWM Road-4 dual-networking support has been added, complete with a new station supporting both networks. The initial phases of the RealRailway (RRW) system have been added. This feature must be selected as part of a custom install. The RealHighway (RHW) system has been expanded to include the QuickChange interchange system, which blends the RHW's modularity with the ease of Maxis Highway construction techniques for certain situations, which will be expanded in future NAM releases. Additionally, several new types of FLEXRamps are available--please read the instructions in the description text. FLEX Transitions have also been given stability improvements for certain situations. Coupled with the RHW system, the NAM now offers Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) functionality, including stations. Transit station functionality has been further improved, including the beginning of the implementation of the SLURP, which will gradually raise all transit stations to NAM standards. The NAM Controller Compiler has been included with the installer, with which it now communicates, ensuring that only the installed features are incorporated into the NAM Controller, reducing file size and load times. About 50 bugs reported since the start of the NAM 32 Pre-Release have also been squished, including some that had been present since earlier versions of the NAM. It is highly recommended that users update to the latest NAM in order to enjoy a more stable experience. Installing over previous versions: NAM 32 may be installed directly over top of any previous NAM releases. It is a full release, not a patch or a hotfix. All future updates are planned to be in full package form, and there are no plans to issue patches or hotfixes in the future. Please also note that the NAM Team only provides technical support for the most recent version, which, as of this document, is NAM 32. We cannot assist users of the NAM 32 Pre-Release, NAM 31.x-series release, or earlier. Special Thanks: The NAM Team would like to extend its sincere thanks to all the members of the community who helped test the NAM 32 Pre-Release, offering feedback and helping us locate and solve bugs.

1 pointWell hello there! How is everyone doing? This is the New London district of Kusari City. It is the centre of the Bretonian Borough of the city and has some big buildings oh yeah! 1. 2.Look at this island: Doesn't it scream "Development, development!" I had though to leave it untouched, but it seems to stick out like a sore thumb. 3. 4. It don't really like the zoning here. It's too rectangular. I'm either going to zone down some of the development into mansions, or try to increase the amount of big towers 5. 6. Ooo lots of lights! 7. 8. 9. Lastly, here is a look at the area of development so far. The biggest problem I'm running into is trying to keep CS$$ available for uneducated sims that move in, while have enough CS$$$ and CO to keep residential demand up. Tyvm for viewing!

1 pointI'm not really into social media, so I could care less about having social media accounts listed on my ST profile. I have a Facebook account but I never go on there (reading the FB notifications in my email is good enough for me), and I have a Google+ account because YouTube made me make one. I don't have accounts/profiles on Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Snapchat or any other social media website. I don't think I'm missing out on anything...if a family friend posts something funny on FB, I'd be the last to know about it (and only because someone would actually tell me about it), but I don't really care.

1 pointPeople snap and it usually comes out in depression or creating a personal wall around everything. A tiny, tiny minority of people who snap decide to go out in a blaze of violence because they feel they have nothing to lose. But contrary to the perception news channels are creating, violent crime rates in both the UK and the US are gradually going down year after year. Finally you don't need guns to on a killing spree: knifes, baseball bats, cars, tools, other melee weapons... Heck even a cigarette lighter can cause more death and destruction then a gun rampage ever will. In my opinion arson attacks are even worse than gun rampages but no one loses their minds about arson which is far more serious.

1 pointAfter the Valley Metropolitan Planning Committee (VMPC) announced the Lakefront District Project, tons of developers flocked to the vast farmland that will soon become one of the largest business districts in the Pacific Northwest. Many tried protesting against development, some even started a riot at a construction site that injured 19, killed 4, and delayed construction by 4 months. None of this anti-urbanism worked and the project continued and expanded. Today, the Lakefront District and a combination of many other areas have caused Kellan's farmland to shrink from 12.4 square miles to 1.9 square miles. Because of this, many say Kellan has lost its small town feel forever. Replies are at the bottom Poll is at the top Also thanks for all the feedback in recent updates! LARGE GIF BELOW! USE CAUTION WITH SLOW PROCESSORS, OR INTERNET! Here in North Kellan, some farms is seen along with Hillary R. Clinton High School, serving 2,345 students. Some say that students steal food when ripe from the farms at night, but they have never been caught. Here are some farms along the border of Kellan and Lake Jillan. Many people in these expensive homes say that the nearby farms increased their interest in buying here. Kellan Acres, a small community in the middle of all the farmland. Some mansions can be seen in this picture, the developer says that some celebrities brought land in the community and even some farmland. A small shopping and entertainment area that caters to the 132,000 residents of North Kellan, who many prefer to stay in this semi-farming community instead of venturing out into the big city. This is the Western Curve of the Lakefront Express, which can easily be seen from any map. Thanks to improved mass transit, rush hour traffic isn't as bad in this picture as it formerly was. This is the not-so-noticeable border between Kellan and Burb, the smallest city in the Kellan Metropolitan Area and one of the smallest cities within an urban area in Henderson. This is the Eastern Curve of the Lakefront Express, also visible on a map (don't judge me on the avenue I was lazy). Traffic here is slightly higher than it formerly was due to increased development in Burb. More farms in Burb. Here we see Chandler Creek, which goes through Chandler, Chandler Canyon, and Burb. The border of Chandler and Burb. More Chandler Creek. As we venture down south we run into Downtown Chandler, which, despite Chandler's population and now-over population boom, hasn't seen development, not even new roads or trees, since 2000. Storm Attacks Kellan On Friday, May 23rd,a group of storms attacked the Kellan Valley, with one storm (radar loop below) dropping as much as 4.31 inches in just 50 minutes. Kellan's already saturated ground was put to the test, and failed. Virtually the entire valley was flooded with 1-3 feet of runoff and in some places ocean water. A 198 foot wide sinkhole also opened up in Brickwell. Luckily it was in the mountains so no damage was caused. However, this could finally be the end of a wet trend thanks to a possible El Nino event coming soon. The storms were believed to be spawned by Hurricane Alfonz, which made landfall on Stepford Island as a Category 3 nearly 175 miles away. The storms path is currently determined as unpredictable, which has made authorities on Stepford Island and in the Benjamin Metro to send evacuees to Kellan. Replies Richie99- Thanks! And yes its only name. SimRico- Thanks! And yes that won't be a problem. UndercoverNinja12- Thanks! sarthakknight- Haha no there's no nuclear plants nearby and glad you understand. Vitor13- Thanks! 1 pointWould it though. European culture isn't that different from American culture when it comes to male role models very often being very violent. But in Europe you don't nearly see as much random stabbings by rampaging idiots. And when it happens, it happens much more often in the context of bar fights or something like that. And the age range of perpetrators is much wider as well. Its certainly not exclusive to young individuals, but also includes quite a few adults. That is not say that there aren't any males who turn to extreme violence and go on a rampage in Europe. Germany had a bunch. Finland too. In the Netherlands there was one a few years back. But they all used guns. All of them. Australia pretty much banned the access to guns after someone went on a rampage and since that ban, there hasn't been a single rampage again. I'm sorry but the link between guns and rampages is just so blatantly clear it cannot be ignored. Access to guns increases the likeliness of someone going on a rampage.

1 pointThe worst bit of our culture is that women get punished either way. She is a slut if she says yes, but she can expect to be assaulted if she says no. I suggest you read this.
-
1 pointConsidering the population of the world these days, I don't think homosexuality is a threat to the survival of humans. I do think people need to take a look at sex from another angle. A girl is a slut if she sleeps with someone, whereas if she doesn't she's frigid. A man is also considered somewhat of a loser if he hasn't slept with someone (usually by a certain age), too. Why is this so?

1 pointThe update I mentioned is supposed to make it so you don't have to remove those files, and won't run into the number of files limit. One of those files you removed is actually a pretty critical file. You can use the NAM without it, as you've seen, but there's a fair bit you can't do--it's like the mod is missing a kidney. Should you try to build a One-Way Road over a river, you'd find yourself completely out of luck, and if you're a British user on a Mac, you're completely screwed if you want the cars to drive on the left side of the road. -Tarkus Got it, thanks! Let's hope the NAM team and/or Aspyr will fix it! I'm extremely grateful to the NAM team for all what they did. They turned a nice game into an immortal game. However, the core features of the NAM and a good deal of plugins are definitely usable on mac. While expert modders look into current bugs, it's still possible to enjoy the mac port with a lot of custom content. Let's be positive. I want to emphasize this in order to not scare new people off.

1 pointT Wrecks: Thank you!. I have worked with the intensity of the lights and I think it looks much better now. I'll going to check if the re-render works. KonstantinII and Terring: Thanks! The Brigham City Utah Temple it's a beautiful one, but the next in my list are the Los Angeles California and the Gilbert Arizona Temples.

1 point(Whoa reply box thingy got changed....) Well it has been a while since I last posted in here, but I have two new interchanges to showcase; they are in a old region I have been fixing up recently The first one is a hybrid interchange; I built it like this because I wanted something more than a generic cloverleaf or turbine. Hwy 2(The Left-right) connects with Hwy 106(Going down) which leads to Downtown Bradenson. Note that Hwy 106 ends here and continues north(Up) to the int'l airport as the Airport Expressway and not a highway because the airport section is not built to National Highway Standards at the moment.... Here's a cloverleaf I built when I extended a highway through a suburban community; it was a tricky job because of the city edge being on one side and the bridge crossing the shipping channel on the other, but I somehow managed it....

1 pointReplies Thanks to everyone who replied and/or read this journal. Richie99- The number of times I wanted to kill the development simulator. NO THAT BUILDING GOES TWO BLOCKS OVER!!! Sorry. Vitor13- Well, if it looked bad I wouldn't be showing it now would I. slickbg56-Yes Sir. Gotta say as its the southernmost urban island it feels very appropriate. sarthakknight-Yeah, I'll admit it needs some more open spaces. The trouble is it really has two fairly sizeable parks already and there just isn't a whole lot of room. As to seawalls, this island is actually high enough to not really need them, and I tend to reserve those for use in industrial areas (which aren't a big thing in this particular tile). elpibedelobo- Thanks. Unfortunately, I'm not fluent in Spanish so I had to run your response through Google translate. The way to make those row house blocks is to zone 1x2 blocks of medium residential alternating with 1x2 blocks of unzoned land. Then when one of the rowhouses you want develops make it historical. Fill in the empty 1x2 blocks when all of its neighbors are historical. Demolish any building you don't want. It will take a while but eventually the whole block will be historical. I'll probably whip a full tutorial at a later date. 100,000 . Yes the Bella Vista Islands just passed the 100,000 sims mark. Things are starting to heat up on the development front, and now is a good time to mention that I'm starting to think about the next few tiles. Not to get ahead of myself, but rather so I have a plan when that time comes. In the meantime, I still need to some heavy lifting in this tile. After all, my roads are overcrowded and my mass transit is next to non-existent. Well, there's next weeks update. Part of the reason my roads are straining is that they have to deal with the increasing density of the areas around them. This area has grown up quite nicely, but as you can see it would definitely be a busy area of town. Good news, the area pictured is nearly 100% finalized. Bad news, that's when things usually get really tricky. Increasing density means that parks tend to stand out more. Though I still need to rework the diagonal edge of this park, you can see that is becoming more of the urban oasis I had intended. The downside of all the diagonals in town is that they can be very difficult to develop properly. Add in some terrain and you could have a real nightmare. Or you could end with something like this. This area is adjacent to the high school I showcased a couple weeks back. As development finalizes I'm adding in mmp's to finish off these areas. I'd probably be a bit further along if I hadn't let my Mid-wealth demand get capped. Of course doing so has its benefits. It certainly makes it easier to develop the low wealth areas of my city, something which generally gets crowded out. With demand for the middle class capped, these types of areas can be built with relative ease. As I noted above the city needs more open spaces. Finding places for them can be a bit of chore though. Then there are time when you see a building like this that absolutely begs to be an anchor for a large plaza. Part of me likes this building so much because, as a bit of superhero geek, it looks like something you'd see in a superhero video game. Now I just need to finish this area with some plaza lots. The glass box, so called by the public, is home to the BellaVista PD First Precinct. Covering most of Zatarain Island, the First Precinct is one of the most advanced in the city. The First Precinct is lead by Lt. David Waller, a man who believes that this cutting edge technology is required to protect the streets. Criminals on Zatarain Island often use the tight corridors to lose the cops, but working to improve security camera coverage across the island has made the First Precinct one of the safest in Bella Vista. Okay, that's all for this update. Like I said next week will likely focus on improving the mass transit system. I'd also like to get your opinion on what the next tile should be. The idea I have is that the city continues to the North with CBD on a larger island. To the south, I'm thinking about some suburb type islands. To the east is likely going to be water with a couple of uninhabited islets. To the west, we would likely have some larger islands, some developed some not. Which direction would you prefer to see first? Until next time...

1 pointCheers Guys! But Huston, not just commercial Take a look: Functions exactly like the Natural Gas Plant, but with a bit less capacity. In the works along with everything else is an Admin wing (just a W2W box at the moment) and extra gas storage cylinders and an extra generator to make it modular, because I really like the modular work from Paeng and the modular abilities of the power plants in SC2013.
