Fairway Ring Road Changes
Hello! When we last met, I had announced that Fairway was launching a ring road project around the city. The project is now underway and the first phase has been completed. However, documentation was poor and a new company was hired to document any further construction of the project. So Phase 1 documentation is shotty at best. Also, some new developments are causing engineers to go back to the drawing board on Phase 1 as it may not meet the needs of the immediate future.
In this update, I will be showcasing what has been done and what future plans are.
This is the original proposed route for the new interstate:
This is the new revised plan for construction:
The new plan has gone with alternate #1 in Point Baker as well as a new complete re-alignment of the north and south highway on the southside of the project in Vandenburgh and Gladview. This brings the interstate closer to Gladview and their airport.
Alternate #1 in Point Baker is a cost saving measure.
The end goal of this project is to help clear congestion in Downton Fairway by creating an alternate route around the city, as well as better connect the outlying communities and suburbs, with hopes to stimulate economic growth.
The project will be split into 3 phases and will circle around the West Side of the Fairway Metro. There are plans for a East Side ring road as well, but that is still in very early stages.
I will leave you with some pictures of the previous construction that was done. Remember, it is all going to change. And will be better documented.
