Phase 2 of Highway Upgrades!!! Hello again! Last time we saw phase 1 of the new upgrades to the East/West mainline highway through Fairway. Today we will focus on Phase 2! Phase 2's plan was to lower the grade of the highway through the downtown as well as complete reconstruction of "The Beast" interchange. (it really isn't a beast anymore) as well as change the grade of the North/South Highway. The aim of this project was to not only upgrade the highway system downtown, but it was to allow a more aesthetic appeal to the area. The old highway was raised and was beginning to become an eyesore to the downtown. This project was big and a lot of changes took place. Without further ado, lets dive in! Our first stop is this interchange: Everything leveled and prepped for new: (left grid on to emphasize terrain changes) Interchange has been replaced with a simple sunken diamond. This saves a lot of space and allows development to grow around the area. Other side of sunken Diamond heading into the T interchange: "T" interchange before: (sorry, I realized that I did not get a good picture of it...) New grade work: After: This interchange mostly kept its old configuration. Death of "The Beast" We are now moving into the former "Beast" interchange. Before: After: (not final configuration) This next interchange did not change much either. Mostly coordinating the new sunken levels. Before: (this pic is turned a different direction) After: Project Complete! Here are overviews of the same areas we just saw with completed features: And lastly, pics of after development: That concludes the presentation of this project. Questions can now be taken! Future Plans Preview of things to come: The two circled areas are where I want to focus my attention to next! Lower left corner is the final leg of the ring road to be finished, and the upper box includes the newest development of the region. I am thinking about maybe streaming live the work on the final leg of the ring road if anyone would be interested. I want to allow people to see the way I plan and build in full detail that I cannot capture in a CJ. Another project I am going to work on is creating a detailed map of Fairway Metro and actually label the highways and major arteries. Its not a small task, but it needs to be done. To help you all better know where you are at when I am showcasing. Any tips are appreciated. Thank you all for viewing and your support of Fairway. The region continues to grow and I plan to keep going with this CJ for a while. Until next time, -- CityNut607

New Humboldt is BACK!! This update is going to focus on a new city I have recently developed in New Humboldt. That city is Ellwood City. Ellwood City is located south west of Fairway. Its population is around 30,000. Overview of current state of Fairway Metro: (location of Ellwood City circled) Ellwood City is in the ring of new development that I have been working on in my spare time. Mostly rural areas outside of Fairway Metro. I have highlighted in white the area I have been developing over the last few months. Ellwood City has a small town feel with the attitude of a big city. With the recent rise in development around New Humboldt, Ellwood City has thrived with several highway connections to the main road network of Fairway. (and possibly more to come ) Here is an aerial view of Ellwood City. And a closer look at Central Ellwood: The city has started a new road project to re-rout the North/South mainline through the city. It currently is following an old out of date line and splits the highway into two segments. The new alignment will allow a straight shot out of town to the existing intersection. Project area: Proposed route with modifications to city streets: Construction begins: New route in place: Paving beginning: A new signaled intersection: (The old barn is being saved by the City for a new Farmers Market/Library complex.) Planned modifications to city streets at Fire Dept: Completed modifications: Paving finished: New City Farm Market and Public Library: After completion, it was noticed that the new roundabout at the Fire Dept. was not working well. A new alignment is planned: And complete: I hope to showcase some more of Ellwood City soon. I am off of work for the week and weekend! SO I plan lots of SC4 time! No real news on the Ring Road Project yet though. I may tackle that this week. Its kind of a mess right now..... , But you will know when I do!! But New Humboldt is not dead! It is still growing A LOT! The region has a population of 2.6 million sims at present time. Its my biggest yet! Stay tuned for more!!! Thanks! --CityNut607

Hey all, No update this go around, but I wanted to let you all know that it may be a while before I can prepare and show a full update on New Humboldt. Real Life has changed quite a bit for me the last month with a new job again, which consumes majority of all my time. I have not gotten hardly any SC4 time in. I promise, I plan to return when I can, but wanted to let those that follow know what's going on. The Ring Road project is still not complete, and I look forward to showcasing that soon! I also, just before my new job started, launched a new region! I hope to Showcase Alexandria someday soon as well! Stay tuned and wish me luck on my new adventure. And as always, SC4 is a top priority, just not as much as id like. Thank you for your continued support! --CityNut607 Here is a small teaser of Alexandria.

Welcome to Phase 1.1 of the Fairway Ring Road Project! Today we will be focusing on the yellow highlighted area of the project. The scope of this area involves the re-alignment of I-45 south of Fairway, and re-construction of the I-445/I-45 Interchange. Project in Vandenburgh: This is the new alignment of I-45 through Vandenburgh. The purple highlighted area is the location of the new interchange. Yellow hatched area denotes where the existing highway will be taken out. Pics of progress: Area Complete: Project in Gladview: This is the new alignment of I-45 through Gladview. Two new interchanges are being built. One will service the local airport, while the other will replace the one being demolished from the realignment. Construction Pics: Final Product: That's it for now. Phase 2 is underway and will focus on Point Baker.

This will be a small update, as I am currently working on said project, but I will have the in depth play by play when it is ready. This will more than likely be a multiple part update. So be on the look out for those. First off, I want to thank everyone for their kind words towards this CJ! I never imagined it would be so liked by the community! THANK YOU! I also appreciate the words of advice towards making the New Humboldt CJ even better. Second: I also want to say that I started a new job two weeks ago, so RL has changed a bit, and this will change playing frequency. But I still plan on continuing with New Humboldt for as long as I can. Today's update will show the "proposed" route for a new ring road around the Fairway Metro. As the area continues to develop, a need for a way around the city has been needed. The project will be completed in phases as most road projects go. The eastern side of Fairway Metro is still undeveloped (I haven't gotten there yet). The proposed highway will start on the south side of the City and wind west and eventually north. This will avoid traveling through downtown to get to the west. Here's the map detailing the proposed route. (with alternate in dotted) I will be back with a detailed update of the construction! Stay tuned!

Hello! Welcome to another update on New Humboldt! Sorry to have kept you waiting. Today we are going to look at a community called Edinburgh. It is situated between Claxton and Fairway along I-45. Location of Edinburgh: Edinburgh is a small industrial city. It is home to one of the regions power plants. Humboldt power, Plant #2 Edinburgh is also the county seat of Jackson Co. of the state of New Humboldt. Here is the central courthouse square: As a growing city, Edinburgh has decided to upgrade its central artery from I-45. Up until not it was a 2 lane road with heavy truck and shopper traffic. It will be upgraded to a 4 lane highway with center turn lane and SPUI interchange at I-45. I-45 will eventually become 3 lanes all the way from Fairway to its terminus at I-40 in Millerville. Traffic is increasing between Fairway and the port in Claxton. I hope to have an updated region shot soon as I have been doing a lot of farming! Till then! Take care! --CityNut607

When we last visited Fairway, Phase 1 of the new Loop project was finishing up and phase 2 was being designed. Phase 2 is now complete! Here is the building site for Phase 2: Site work has begun, which includes a lot of property acquisition and removing of buildings and surface streets. Start of construction: Several months later, its starting to look like an interchange! There was some directional changes to the existing route, drivers will be confused at first. Working on final conncetions: Here is "Mini Beast" complete and finally open to traffic! If you noticed, a new development has taken shape on the waterfront!! More on that later, lets just say it should put Fairway on the map! And finally complete with landscape: What will the mystery development be?? Come back to find out! Thanks! --CityNut607

Finally an update on Fairway! Sorry for delay, but life threw a curveball at me. I had to have emergency surgery last Thursday. I am doing better, but didn't get to work on Fairway like I wanted. Until today! I have been slowly developing the city center area by area. Here is the road layout for Fairway. It is still mostly intact as it is. Some minor adjustments were made. Here are some of the highway interchanges in the City Center: This one is my favorite! Overview of the Metro's growth: The next project: I plan on undertaking running a river front highway around the downtown. I feel it is needed and will make the highway system look complete in my opinion. Here is a rough draft of where I plan to run it: Stay Tuned! The next update will include how the highway was built and final results! Thanks everyone! --CityNut607
