Today, we'll be taking a look at the iconic southern tip of Manhattan - New York City's financial district, Lower Manhattan. We'll be taking a look at some of the area's most iconic landmarks, buildings, & more before viewing the area in it's entirety from above with a few overviews.

We'll begin with a look at the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, which at the time of it's opening in 1883 (and to this day) remains an important connection from Brooklyn to Lower Manhattan.

The Statue of Liberty looks over the city's harbour and has been one of New York's most iconic landmarks since it's completion in 1886.

We now move on to the tip of Lower Manhattan itself - and our first sight is one of New York's most important green spaces for nearly 200 years - The Battery. Also seen is Castle Clinton - a circular sandstone fort that served as the first U.S. immigration station from 1808 to 1811.

A look at some of the nearby skyscrapers overlooking The Battery and the city's waterfront - 17 State Street, 2 New York Plaza, and 1 New York Plaza.

The New York County Courthouse opened in 1927 and is well known for its unique hexagonal shape and importance as the home of Civil and Appellate Terms of the New York State Supreme Court.

Exceptional recreation of the Financial District with diagonal street layout and custom buildings crowded at the tip of the island.
