That would be awesome as it would mean that my discord name is the same as here! (For some reason discord is showing that everything has verified in connecting to each other but the chat is showing that I am still an unregistered user on the Simtropolis server. My discord has been a verified account since I set up discord, and my account here is showing it's linked to my discord but I am unable to see any chat! Hopefully the name change will rectify this problem as neither discord or the forums here have any information that could rectify my dilemma)

Since you are a returning member having lost your password, @Cyclone Boom and I customarily do some research. We feel confident AprilAero and YoshiMX3 are your accounts. While even I don't have access to your password I can reset it to something and send that to you via a Private Message. Then, also, if you'd like I could merge all three accounts together and you pick which one you'd want to be your main one with all the content tied to it and which two would disappear.

HELLO.

So, an introduction... here we go:

About me? Boring, nobody's here for that. I'm 20 and I think cats are better than dogs (change my mind).

I've been playing SimCity 4 since... uh, I don't remember. 2005 probably, I was very young and barely knew what I was doing. Then I returned to the hispanic SimCity 4 community late 2015 but it was... quite dead.

Now I'm bored because my PC's not working anymore (don't tell my roommate but I think it's because I tried to clean it and failed miserably) so I'm using an old netbook that can only run old games like SimCity 4, Emergency 4 and similar. 

So... that's the story of why I'm here. I'd probably stay around until my PC is fixed or I'm bored of the game. Hopefully it'll be a nice stay. If you see me posting somewhere come say hi and/or insult me because dogs are OBVIOUSLY better than cats!

You're welcome to stay and post here as long as you like. You can stay even after you get your PC fixed. SimCity 4 is still a great game all these years later and you might find you enjoy it more now. And there are lots of peeps here to help out too if you have questions.

The great thing is after all these years, SC4 still has an active community fanbase here. You'll find the STEX opens up new possibilities with custom content, and I remember being amazed at when first discovering ST. To realise the potential to extend the game through the many options available, and the wealth of knowledge posted on the forums. People are so kind and friendly here, and feel free to post asking about anything game or site related, and we'll do our best to help.

With regard to SimCity 4, you may or may not be aware that the largest Polish site (SimCity Polska) went offline late last year. If you use their style of custom content in your game, we were authorized by an administrator of their site to host all of their files here. You can find the ones we have in SimCityPolska Files category and if you want to help with organizing other lost files we have the SimCity Polska Organization club for that.

Whatever level of involvement you desire with our site, we welcome you.

Hi Lo, welcome aboard.

Having an interest in history I suspect will help to inspire creativity when city building. Although I'm a SC4 player myself and only tried Cities Skylines for a short while after finding my computer inadequate, there is common ground where imagination plays a bit part. Thinking about development from a historical perspective, and for there to be a timeline of how cities progress through the eras, changing in architectural styles and so on. I find it fun to paint storylines as mental pictures of what's happening within a city.

As I see you've found already, here at Simtropolis the Cities Skylines forums are active with fellow players who I'm sure can share technical info on the gameplay and modding side. I've glanced at a few topics there and noticed some very talented items being created. We hope you enjoy the site.

P.S. Having collected the Tintin comics myself when I was younger, I instantly recognised your Captain Haddock avatar. Good choice!

Hopefully everyone is having a good day? Don't know if I've have posted to this thread, but I'll do it again.

I am a 55 yr old white male. Married to a wonderful women. I live in a small town here in SC. I grew up In a  small community SW of St. Louis MO. I am a proud Navy Vet. Worked in the Aviation field ( maintenance and production) for the following companies, U.S. Navy, McDonnell Douglas, Boeing and Lockheed Martin, had been doing it for over 30 yrs. I am on disability  now because of a work place injury.

I have been playing SC4 every since it came out and been a member here on STEX and LEX since the mid. 2000's. Have enjoyed the custom content that both sites have. Have had my problems with the game and the member's of both sites are always very helpful to help you get things sorted out so the game works like it should.

Been a member for so long I finally uploaded a Bat for everyone to enjoy I created the Bat over 5 yrs ago for my own personal use. It is "SNM Airport Crash Center" and haven't had any problems using it in the game.

We're glad to have you as a member of the community. Whether that's asking questions on the forums about the game or custom content, creating items as you've shared with your re-lotted Airport Center which was great to see, or even just being around the site as you feel comfortable. You've already joined an elite 1% who readily post and contribute. Being involved with ST for over 12 years now, I imagine you must've seen things change in both the membership and the design of page layouts.

Things are a little different now of course. But one thing remains the same in that Simtropolis always remains open for members both new and experienced. Cyclone Boom,  Thank you for the reply. Yes I have seen many changes to STEX over the years. I remember when the only place to get “Custom Content” was from EA. Then I found, STEX, LEX and one of my favorites The PLEX. I was so sorry to hear about SIMPEG, want a great lose to the SC4 community. But it has been a real pleasure to see STEX grow to the site it is today. It is people like you, Cori, Tyberius06, rsc204, and other site personal that make this site into what it is.

 

 

Cori,  Thank you for the reply. Had to laugh, I do spend a lot of time in SC and maybe I should just spell in out.  In real life I live in South Carolina. Relocated to the south back in the early 2000’s for work. I was hired by Lockheed Martin to do Maintenance and Modifications on the P-3 Orion. Meet my wife while living here (she is a good ole Country girl, lol). The Navy caused my passion in Aircraft, loved working on them and enjoyed building them. Aircraft I have been involved with, Maintenance: TA-4J Skyhawk, T_2 Buckeye, P-3 Orion, F4 Phantom (RF and E models) . Production: AV-8B Harrier, FA-18 Hornet (C and D) models, F-15 Eagle  (C,D and E) models, and helped start up production of the C-17 Cargo Jet and helped build about 95% of the fleet of Aircraft. While in the Navy had the pleasure to work on the Flight Deck. Watching Aircraft land and launch off the Carrier. If you want to know what is was like watch some YouTube videos, that is what I experienced in real life.

I am new in this Community, also before joining I just looked at the content without joining this community hehehe

I played SimCity 4 since junior high school I know this game because I see city journal content @Namiko A.K.A @976 in the Indonesian discussion forum named Kaskus, unfortunately the discussion forum was quiet or could be said to be deserted.  and I hope that in this community there will be more members from Indonesia who play SimCity 4

And I love his game because have many Mods in this game especially about skyscrapers , indonesian themed building (other mods are made by @roe99 ) , road, park,  and etc. (because to many mods in this game). Also this game have many other mod make game looks realistic. my favorite mods is theme about rural area especially mmp mods make the rural scene like real and also i like read City Journal which is accompanied by several mods that make a city or rural atmosphere look realistic.

That's the way it was for me too. I'd come here looking for (and finding) answers to various questions I had concerning SimCity 4. It was prolly 6 to 8 months later when I actually joined. Now that you are a member the site becomes interactive since you can now post.

Ofc you've prolly found the SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop forum where peeps discuss all manner of BATting. That's a good place to start a new topic if you want to discuss the techy aspects of what you are creating.  Most peeps name their own thread with their member name and add workshop or such to the title.  There's also the Show Us What You're Working On thread where peeps showcase their progress.

Btw, I bumped you up from New Member to a full regular Member so you will not have to wait to have your posts approved before they show up.

yes I also still learn about 3d modeling and have also found a number of threads that can help me how to make a new bat

Google translate adalah alat yang luar biasa. Apa yang Anda poskan mudah dibaca. Saya menggunakan metode dua langkah di mana saya pertama kali mengetik pesan saya dalam bahasa Inggris. Google translate is an amazing tool. What you post is easy to read. I used the two-step method where I first typed my message in English. Then I will copy the translation made in another language and paste it into the conversion back to English. If it still makes sense, then I know the translation might make sense.

Hi Ridwan, welcome to the community.

You have some some great ideas there, and there are many possibilities to be inspired by your home country for city building in SC4. It's nice to see you've already posted in the Showcase forum, and that tropical scene there you created a few years ago is very impressive indeed, along with your train bridge image above. Looking through the STEX I'm sure you'll discover lots of content to help recreate scenery you're familiar with. You may find this list of MMPs useful for a few extras too for decorating landscapes.

I wish you all the best with your BAT project. The preview there of the temple looks very detailed already, and I can imagine people will appreciate additional Indonesian style BATs too. Using 3D modelling tools is something I've never been able to master myself, and it really must be a fine art that takes lots of skill and attention to detail.

It's an honour you could join us as a member of Simtropolis. Glad to hear you found the Intro Guide useful, and feel free to ask any questions if unsure of anything about the site. I'm a 28 year old guy from the Netherlands, work part time as freelance graphic designer and I like to play building games. I like to play Cities: Skylines nowadays (I used to play SimCity when I was a kid but I haven't touched it in a looong time). Anyway, I'm getting into custom asset creation currently, following tutorials etc., so I'd thought I'd sign up here so I can ask questions if needed, talk about some stuff, etc. Hope to have a good time on this forum.
