This time I'm searching for a town hall fix mod. Because each time a plop the city hall I see either a plane or another mmp on the lot....

You can use the new vortext's seasonal tree controllers. Is really nice and complete

I just downloaded a new map to work on, and while i haven't created any cities yet, i only used the god mode tree mode to plant trees in every new city region. But i've came across something i don't want to have it... When i plant trees in god mode, some kind of lodges seem to appear to certain altitudes... Which i don't want to appear at all...

 

My question is: how can i find the file in my plugin folder that is messing up my godmode trees mode? See the picture below for the problem i have.

Anyone knows which file is causing this...?

AIrports in the game are a major pain in the lower back region. They take up too much room, they are too big for the police to manage properly (crime accumulates at the center of the lot, where the police can't reach the perpetrators) and the sims start asking for them too early.

I know there are certain lots, "parks", that have all the functions of an airport, but only taking up 2x2 or 1x1 tiles. This way, sims can have their damn airports without cluttering every city tile with them. However, I haven't managed to find any of them. Any help?

 

 

Also, are there any police stations out there powerful enough to overcome the "police bug?" I'm talking about the crime accumulation problems happening in big lots such as universities, airports and landmarks. Preferrably without too much hassle to get (i.e. hosted at Japanese-only site requiring login and fifty megabytes of dependencies). Anything on the STEX would be superb. Thanks a lot!

This is the first modd to address the crime attenuation, but if you run the CAM and read the documentation, there is one built into the CAM that is better modeled, not quite so radical...

Kind people of Simtropolis, is it possible in some way to keep the trees of Cycledogg in mayor mode, while deleting the Cycledogg tree controller? I want to install another tree controller, but on the other hand, I don't want to lose the ploppable trees...

I hope these steps can help you :

1. Move all files outside the tree controller and it's dependencies (if any).

2. Open the game, open any untouched city in the region.

3. Brush some trees, if those lodges gone, it means you have a hidden file that cause the problem.

4. Try to play with half of the Plugins installed, if the problem is still there, move half of the installed plugins. Otherwise, try to play with the other half

5. Repeat the step 4 until you find one specific file that cause the problem, you can move the culprit from your Plugins then.

6.Check your game again, just to make sure that the problem has gone.

I found the file which was causing the problem @ hand, it was peg's forest logging mod which was messing up my god mode tree planting!

Yes, but you should keep the proppack that comes with the trees and the mmp file that makes it possible to plop them. These two files do NOT interfere with any Tree Controller. The controller is only for planting the trees in godmode taking the treesmodels from the propfile.

 

For Godmode trees controllers play:

 

There are 17 different kinds of Treecontroller (God-Mode) available on the Net that I know of, and you can use all of them in the same region and even in the same citytile and then only keep one when you play.

 

Here is how that functions: Open a city and start planting trees with the one treecontroller you have (make sure always to keep only one controller in your plugins). Save and exit. Then find another treecontroller and re-open the same city, plant again the new trees as you wish and save/ exit. You can repeat this as many times as you wish, but.....just make sure that you put back one of those treecontrollers, once finished planting what you had to plant, that you used in the citytile when you start playing in it. The game always needs one of those controllers to show the others and keep the game going smoothly, if you delete all of them and keep only the Maxis original, then the game will crash on openening the citytile or  you will find a lot of nice little brown boxes, and I mean a lot, :)

 

Once done as I told, all the trees you planted from the different controllers should be there, no boxes, no glinches, no problems..... ;) This does not work with beach/rock or other controllers though....unfortunetly. At least I haven't figured it out yet. ;)

 

EDIT: If you want some Maxis trees in your city as well, place them first. (without any controllers in your Plugins and before using any other controllers) Them too , they will be there at the end. Kinda makes a natural forest tile looking interesting and real without using too much MMP's. (see my MD/CJ for details)

 

The link below is to one of my regions that I have a MD/CJ (The Winding River Project) with on SC4 Devotion. Have a look, there are 13 different treecontrollers in that region and some citytiles have up to 4 different treecontroller trees. This is a very detailed XL large png region picture, might take awhile to load.
