  • We also have our first featured interview launching right now! Ln X interviewed by _Michael, a great and insightful read about Ln X’s experience with content from the past two years. Give it a read, and feel free to post in that topic asking further questions which you might want answered!

Thanks, I thought it was about time that trixie really took over the site! She hasn’t been seen in so long, she was getting lonely waiting :)

You can find them in the emoticons drop down in the text editor, or use the codes associated with their normal counter part!
You can also still use the normal versions, add an asterisk * in front of their usual code, or use the emoticons drop down.

    :???:

I often thought to write an annual report, of course something personal (it can't be something speaking for everyone) about the highlights I had, the experiences made on the site, with the community, stuff found on the STEX. Not for recommending for others or teaching, more to add a diary or 'history book' to Simtropolis, remembering the funny and the sad moments. As I think this is something still missing. It's more like a newspaper, made for one day - for what is the news.

Or maybe it's time to create a Simtropolis quiz game:

Who said: " I am the Leonardo DiCaprio of the Trixies."

What is shown on the periodic table of 2012 Trixie wards?

How often the Trixie for the most chaotic SC4 CJ was won?

This site is full of stories. And the trixies awards - well, they are a way to keep some of them beyond daily news business.

So I like the idear to go back in 2015 and dig for the stories they were the headlines then.

I believe @Cyclone Boom is intending to launch something like this very soon. A place to go and chat about content which you think had a big impact that year,  or that you think might be overlooked. Just a place to discuss the content of the Trixies,  rather than the Trixies themselves,  as we patiently await the start of the nominations

Yes, stand by for that very shortly!

As hinted in the opening post, there will be two additional threads:

    EDIT: And here they are!

There's been so much happening between now and the last round that it's going to be tough deciding which nominations to choose!

Absolutely, and hopefully that's where the build-up comes in.

  • Hey everyone,

As we're building up to the Trixie nominations opening,  we've realised we'll need more time to get it just right. There is an amazing discussion going on in the Award Category Ideas thread, and we want to continue gathering your ideas on what awards we should offer as standard. We also have more interviews to come, and we'd like to give them the air time they deserve rather than hiding them in the rush of the nominations (they are just as good as what's come before, we can't wait for you to read them ;) ) and there is a good discussion happening in the Community Build-up Discussion

We've never really done a Trixies build up before, so we weren't sure how much time we'd need. Turns out it's about 3 weeks :P We really want to do these Trixies right,  and we think that means having great feedback on what awards we should offer. We will close the Award Category Ideas thread on Wednesday so that the staff have the right amount of time to work through them and set up the nominations forum to include those awards. While we're doing that well still have discussion threads running in the Trixies forum,  along with more interviews and content retrospectives.

    Nominations Open March 13th

We hope you all understand why we're pushing the nominations back :) This will be the date nominations now open, there will be no further changes to this date :read:

Hope you all join us in the festivities, and we're eagerly awaiting the start of the nominations

    :ducky:

Hiya! We're so glad you dropped in to see us.
Simtropolis is primarily a site for people who love City Building games. We have major forums for SimCity 4, Cities: Skylines, and SimCity (2013) as well as a few others in the gamer topics. Our members are friendly, courteous, and helpful and range in skill levels from beginners to technical gurus.  The forums are where we discuss all manner of city building ideas. Whether you are a player or a custom content creator (or both) we have places ideally suited for your needs. If you haven't signed up yet to be a member, how about dropping by our New Member Registration Page?
We also have the SimTropolis EXchange which is our files section containing (literally) thousands of files to improve on the basic games. These include bug fixes, maps, textures to change the terrain-related aspects, lots, buildings, props, game altering mods, and more. These are available for download by members and guests alike. (However, members are not presented with any ads.)
Now, of course, we do have some easy to abide by rules you'll want to read in the Site Guidelines and for custom content creators and users in the STEX Code of Conduct. Be sure to check those out because they apply in full force to everyone here whether you read them or not.
        Ok. Have you registered yet?
        No?
        I'll wait.

Great! Now that you are a member you can Introduce Yourself Here.
And here's how I've laid out the rest of this introductory thread:
Basics of Using the Forum Software Overview of the Forums Overview of the STEX Overview of the Omnibus You can click those links above or just scroll down as each one is in its own separate post in this thread.
Also, if you have any issue come up which you feel is best discussed in private, feel free to send a Private Message to one of our Staff Members. Tip: Look over on the right side of that page to see which of us has been most recently active. That doesn't guarantee we didn't just log off 2 seconds after you view the list, but it does increase the odds you'll get a quicker reply. Do keep in mind even if we are online we cannot always respond immediately as we may be working on another important issue.
I hope you find this site as enjoyable as I do.
        -Cori
