Nice! Don't forget to clean up your models with 3dsmax before you import them. Sketchup outputs very bad models with double vertices.

Edit poly, select all vertices, weld, is the 3 second step you should do when exporting your imported from SketchUp geometry to .fbx yeah

Good to see you strutting your stuff here Prosper! I've been waiting to see the workflow behind those nice apartments.

Welcome Prosper, I'm a big fan of your work, they supplement the existing USA assets perfectly!
Hope to see many more lovely buildings coming from you!

When I did these steps, I reduced only the number of vertices. Not tris. Is this normal?

I usually try to create fewer polygons(faces), separate them, delete invisible polys. For example under the windows on the first floors.

Yeah, the number of tris on your geometry is set by your SketchUp modeling technique, but the number of cornerpoints connecting with each other needs to be cleaned up by Max (this reduces the in-game performance hit of your asset by a bit IIRC) - hence the trick of welding everything together.

In the end I switched over from modeling in SU to doing everything in 3ds Max; it's way more flexible!

    Welcome, Prosper.

I like your buildings very much. Wall-to-wall buildings are always a welcome addition. You're one of only a few creators adding to the WTW buildings in the game, and yours are most excellent.

I'm looking very forward to seeing whatever you create next.

Welcome! I have most, if not all, the buildings that you've released on Steam so far. I also love American architecture. :)

    Very nice!

You could use the color variations for different brick colors.

Man Prosper you make some gorgeous assets! Especially the texturing is out of this world (same for your previously released buildings - the textures look incredibly lifelike!)
Of the three, I like the dark brick version the most, but as Boformer said, using color variations for brick colors would be even better (using the same growable multiple times is inevitable, and well-done color variations are a good way to prevent too much visual repetition).

It has a color map. In the screenshot three of the four colors, dark/lite brown and reddish.

What are you plans for the lot shape?

There is the same situation as in the Flatiron building by H3r8yn470r. Don't know how to describe in English.

Also, do you want some critical feedback on your other models? I think with some small tweaking to your texture colors, they could be some of the best assets in the game. :)

Of course. Which ones? I plan to tweak the texture at the 11&13 apartments.

These are looking incredible so far!

I'd really love to see you work on some British buildings/architecture. I'd happily help source you some material. :)

I'm not sure yet, but I really like the dark brick. And you?

Hi Prosper, your latest USA Apartment (no. 14) seems to have some texture glitches on the left side of the roof of the street-facing part of the podium (you can see it on the left-most building in your screenshot). Don't worry, it's really not a big deal, it just stands out because the overall quality of your assets is really off the charts.

Maybe adding some depth with 2% specularity and some very mild normal mapping would better show what you intend to do? That way the fact that the darker areas are actually a bit lower becomes clear.

BTW I finally downloaded all your growables after going through my asset list and deleting everything I don't use. They're really great!
