I'm flattered

But if you add me, make sure to get Cool_Z and Feinbold on the list too :)

And Shroomblaze too! I like his trees and weed plants! :P

Hello. I'm Drosovila and new here :)

(here's my workshop http://steamcommunity.com/id/Drosovila/myworkshopfiles/?appid=255710)

I just wanted to say that it would be a honor to be on this list. If not thats okay too, Im still very new to making game assets.

Some of my LOD's (mostly the older ones) are far from perfect, which seems to be the biggest issue with most assets. But I'm currently updating these and adding better descriptions with info about polycount, texture resolution  etc.

I think the descriptions could be a bit more standartisized though...But we have some great modders here so we could make that happen...

Welcome to Simtropolis Drosovila! Hope you like it here :D

Those are some sweet looking assets you have there, definitely think you deserve a spot : )

Thank you for helping me with this effort by updating your LODs and workshop descriptions! I appreciate that.

    On another NOTE:

    UPDATE:

I will be going on a work trip starting tomorrow and for a week, so this list is on standby until then. Thank you for your understanding.

I think it would have been nice if CO was able to have some of the information automated onto the Workshop. For instance, every building asset automatically had all stats listed in a 'stats' panel on the workshop. Additional information could be in its own panel that the author types out themselves. That would definitely help things.

Hi there. You have already made tons of assets, and some are really nice, good job. But the quality varies a lot. For example I deleted St. Mary Axe and Petronas Towers because the diffuse textures are pretty bad.

I have downloaded many of your buildings already. They look great!

How do you get them done so quick?

Thanks everyone for your kind words and honest critique !

I think we should make a steam group too with all the major asset creators to discuss stuff like this,or share knowledge or whatever. At the moment everyone is kind of doing his own thing and the community is scattered across simtropolis, the official forums, the subreddit and probably even more.

What do you guys think ?

Couldn't agree more. Personally I prefer Simtropolis but Steam is a place where basically every modder is already registered, that makes it a lot easier. I'm just concerned because for the first week I could not even upload my assets to Steam because I were a new user. And I still can neither rate nor comment other uploads, more than 4 weeks after I purchased the game. I'd be really upset if it turns out I can also not join Steam groups  :meh:

I also don't know how to comment. And I have been using Steam for a year now. But commenting is very easy. There is a commenting box just under the other comments just like here on the forums.

I can comment under my own assets just fine, but not under others...

Wow thats weird. It's probably because your account is still level 0, so you'd have to craft some badges to get it to a higher level...But I'm not really sure TBH...

That is most likely steam trying to stop people from abusing the free account system. It must be frustrating to a new user who doesn't play in steam games. Only way I know to raise that is pay more money, which is a little sad on one hand, but I understand they trying to stop spam on the other.

On this topic, I see the dif in building pictures people have posted, but what does LOD stand for? I'm at a loss.

LOD = Level of detail, a simplified model (usually <100 triangles) that replaces a building when you zoom out very far. It's essential for games like C:S to save memory and computing power.

Steam Group! That is definately a must!!

Call it simtropolis maybe?.. But a Group moderated by a couple of us from here, preferably some of you modders and TPB (OP) .. you add all modders who fit the requirements, and then all of us who dont create mods, but use them, we have one place we can trust and go to, to get our buildings and mods.

This is a must! I can create the Group right now!

EDIT: I made a Group, as soon as TPB gets home and joins, I will make him an administrator and then he can decide of a couple of other modders who can be admins.

Any ideas on how the Group should Work?

Ideas about how the group should work: maybe just let the modders and content creators create a group and have some patience. You can't force them to join your group and what is your addition to the group?

Wow, that was hostile! I merely wanted to help - I am in no way capable of contributing with mods or assets, but what I can do is help with the tideus Work of copying all the stuff and html over to the steam Group, and it took a very looong time. Time they wont have to use on trivial tasks. And as TPB can attest to, I wrote him right after creating the Group telling him that I would make him admin of the Group as soon as he was back from vacation and that thereafter he could do with it what he wanted and make as many modders admins as he wants to. He idea, his choice. I was merely excited with this idea and wanted to help. I am very sorry if that provoked you and hurt you in some weird way. That was not my intention - and then maybe you can reflect a little bit over why you would be so hostile towards someone who just wanted to help and save them time.

I will delete it later when I get home.

Yeah. that was kinda the idea. I'll let it be for now, and see if there is interest. As said, TPB will be admin of the Group as soon as hes back and if he wants to. This was his idea, I only did the leg Work and thought that it would be appreciated.. :) but not everyone I guess :) Was just excited, as I too have struggled with the mess that is the workshop.

I wasn't trying to be hostile or rude. I was just saying you maybe should have let the modders make a group themselves. You don't have to delete it, but I just gave some tips.

You didn't hurt me at all by the way. But I'll be more careful the next time I write a comment to a new member.

I think you are both right. Oh well, let's just wait for TPB's return and see what he thinks about this :)

Btw, I can finally comment other assets since today! What a bliss  Rating does still not work but whatever...

Well, that's how it came a cross. So yes maybe be a little careful. Btw, I am not a new member. I just accidentally created a new profile via the Facebook API because I forgot my old username, and my old email is not in use. I was not very active or know, but I have probably been a member here for more than 10 years, back from when I played simcity 4. I remember when the Ferrari dealership was released, and that is definitely almost 10 years ago.

But anyway. Just think about how you come across. There was no ill or faul in my effort to help TPB and the others, I won't get anything out of it what so ever. Besides a lot of work with copying everything over.

    But water under the bridge

Have a nice remainder of the weekend.

Hello guys, I am very sorry but I won't be able to continue with any of this, if anyone wants to take over please contact an administrator to have this topic transferred to you(if thats possible).

I am currently struggling with very strong depression and a big part of it has been caused by my excessive use of the internet to evade my problems (or so said the doc) as such I have been adviced to take a long break from computers and games in general.

Thank you for your understanding and I hope what I tried to do until now has some sort of positive effect at least in the community.

Wish me luck guys, hope to see you all very soon.

Well we're going to miss ya! Thanks for all your help and effort in making Simtropolis a better community. I don't think that a lot of the mods we see today would have gotten off the ground without your assistance. Hope to hear from you again soon! :)

I hope you get over it soon. That's going to be a hard task, staying away from computers, if you ask me. I think I can say at least the whole CSL community is wishing you good luck!

Than I am wrong. I was guessing, I understood steam changed there terms recently in regards to level 0 accounts. That was all I was thinking. Not sure if this topic is going anywhere now that TPB is moving on.
