Awesome interchange Kei. Must have been a pain getting all those big curves so perfect. My city is getting kinda cramped on the other hand so I try to keep mine compact.

Here's another one I made to connect the highway to the freight terminal. Already posted it in another thread but thought it belongs here.

My first city, my first spaghetti without previous planning :D

Note to self: Leave more space between HWY for those pylons!

This is the progress of my modest interchange from failtastic to functional.

Your flyover ramp seems really high. Maybe designed with future expansion in mind?

I expanded part of one of the premade interchanges in the game to handle increased volumes. Hint at the collector-express system starting here.

In the original design there was another flyover ramp beneath that one.

Dear sir/madam/whoever will read this!

This profile is now defunct.

Computer problems and issues with accessing my Imageshack account meant My SC4 CJ Scrapbook was lost and utterly irretrievable. This setback put me off SC4 for many months.

Apologies for the inconvenience and for the lost pictures.

But that SC4 itch did not go away and it had to be scratched! I have started afresh with a new account here- The British Sausage

The URS is a spiritual successor to the SC4 CJ Scrapbook.

With this update this will be the last time I visit my original Simtropolis account- admin/mods feel free to remove it or do whatever you need to do. I have no further use for the Ln X (BLANKBLANK) account.

With regards, Miles Saunders-Priem aka. Ln X aka. The British Sausage

I'd say my $29 was well spent just on the ability to doodle interchanges all day.  That little city simulation feature that's attached to this interchange sketch up software is just gravy.  :)

<snip>

That. is. insane.

A cloverstack/cloverturbine or something like that, made in the asset editor:

<snip>

Plopped and connected it looks like this:

<snip>

One thing that annoyed me in the asset editor is that I sometime ran out of space when creating the interchange. Am I the only one having that issue?

It's not only you. As you can see, I couldn't connect all ramps in the editor and had to leave them to be done while playing instead.

I've been doing some reconstructing of one of the interchanges in my regions. I wanted something free-flowing, so started up constructing what soon looked like it would become a 4 level interchange. Way too big for my still rural city. Then I started fiddling with overpasses with intersections. I managed to get the turnlanes working quite well. This ended up looking waaaay to urban, so I bulldozed it all again. Still, made some pictures. Maybe someone else can use the idea :D

and a closeup of the turning lanes. Its the same in all directions

QTRFI30.jpg

Here's a T interchange I made which connected to this one. I downgraded the 6 lane highway back to a 2 lane highway, so this got mostly bulldozed again as well.

These are some fantastic interchanges! I need to get a not-potato-laptop so I can fiddle with interchanges for hours and hours...

I had this same issue. My temp solution? Build in diagonal on the editor, gives you a *little* bit more space.

Another thing that annoys me is the lack of grid subdivisions, very hard to calculate where the actual center is!

I believe I made more efficient use of space here. :)

interchange_on_water.png

Bloody hell!!!!

Ok, heres one of mine uploaded to the workshop. It's nothing too fancy but is practical. Its basically a cloverleaf but made using ALL 3 lane highway so there are no bottlenecks, great for heavy flow.

Directional trumpet for a new industrial estate:

CS_0004.png

Current state of my original "main" interchange.  It would be cleaner if we could have shallower angle gores.  I do like the way the "Main Street" connection turned out, but the congestion map tells a different story.  And I just noticed I never removed the old "reliever" ramp at the far right...

CS_0005.png

Original design of the interchange on the right edge above - it didn't last very long in this configuration before I had to convert it into a half diamond (there's another intersection just off the edge of the picture so a full diamond was redundant) upon emptying that pesky landfill.  Then that blew up, so I rebuilt it again.  Also fixed the sharp curve on the highway...by making it sharper.   :P

I'm still working with my very first city and just kind of altering the interchanges that were already there, like this one. It was a t-bone that came with the city.

j2jwA76.jpg

But I can't wait to start reproducing some real world interchanges. I bet we can get pretty close to exact replica's with the new flexibility of this game.

Hi guys! It's my first post here:)

I had an old account here but I already forgot my user name and my email is abandoned too, so I simply register again.
And... Cities Skylines brings me to Simtropolis again!

Your interchange with the embedded circle in the 3rd picture reminds me a bit of this one in Portsmouth, NH:

Been playing around with the Asset Editor :)

Cloverleaf with local express collector-distributor lanes.

I don't even know how I managed to fit this in the available space! Asset actually ends where the first ramps are, obviously. Users would have to add more ramps themselves to connect the collector lanes to the middle section.

More pics in spoiler.

If anyone wants to know how I got that middle pillar to be placed in that tight spot in the center in this last image, which is normally impossible, just ask. That's quite a cool trick I stumbled on :P

It actually took me like 4 hours to make this... LOL, getting the middle viaduct section to cross 4 highway widths with just 1 pilon in the middle was quite an adventure.

I'm planning to upload this to the STEX once polished further, so looking for suggestions and stuff. Do you think the two lane OWR ramps work, realistically speaking? Or should I just stick to highway ramps? I like the free decoration, 64 props limit sucks :( Are the inner lane ramps correctly placed, do you think?

EDIT: After many more hours, I've finished "polishing" the interchange. I think it looks much better now!

Hoping for some feedback/criticism or anything :) What do you think? Would you download this?

OH I just had a thought! Why not move the inner ramps to match the location of the loop ramps, to remove the double signposts! Yes.. gonna try that :)

Industry gave me a @#$%^&*( huge headache despite just small size... To be honest I'm not really see this kind of crazy traffic at industrial area at my place, at least...

This one should works for now... Originally was roundabout, but slowly renovate into something more... "artistic"...  :D I think I just call it [octopus]...

I had a lot of headaches with industry building up so I converted it to this oddity:

xw0qfwR.jpg

It is remarkably efficient at moving traffic quickly. Previously trucks were backing up on the off-ramp from the motorway.
