No doubt that this is a beautiful model. Though, I'd hate to nitpick, but I can't really dig the head. Seems a bit overscaled and...different. :P It might just be the size of the head though, but if you made it smaller, it'd look a lot more proportionate.

Other than that, this really is going to be the icing on the STEX's cake.

I can't believe you pulled that much off in less than 3 weeks.  I feel like that would take me at least 3 months!

I do have to agree, however, that something isn't right with the face.  I don't have a picture in front of me for comparison, but it looks too wide or something.  I'm sure it'll take you maybe all of 5 minutes to fix it and blow us all away.  :)

It's hard to tell at that angle if the face needs too much changing... It's not an angle that we normally see, plus with shadows and such it could look completely different.  Here's the closest match I could find with a quick search.

Before you go changing the face around too much, it would probably be best to see what she looks like in the SC4 perspective.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for those comments, I should have put this in my post, but I wouldn't get too caught up in accuracy and likeness, as SimCoug has pointed out, this is ultimately going to be a BAT, seen at BAT scale and BAT viewing angle.

As with all BATs, there's going to need to be exaggeration and alteration of some features to compensate for loss of resolution and camera distortion. Its never going to be something you can put next to a photo and not spot differences.

The purpose of showing the perspective angle above is to see the progression with the arms and robes, but even now at SC4 camera angle she looks squat and the robes look more like rags... but hopefully when she's done she's going to be something that is recognisable as a reasonable facsimile of the real thing. At very minimum, I hope its just at little bit better than the one we have today :D

OK Red, but with all that said, I am sure you still tend to give her as much of her real likeness and scale that she possesses in the RL.

The most noticeable issue that I see is unmatched proportions between elements. And surely it would be nice to see sc4 perspective render.

Here are some useful links I have found with quick googling:

East Elevation:

and HUMONGOUS .png file here:

All 4 elevations

and HUMONGOUS .png here:

Surprisingly all of these plans and many more can be found on Wikimedia Commons (scroll to the bottom of the page):

Vlasky beat me to post the plans :) I think while your work is good you should try and replicate the look that you're given on plans, that way you stay very true to real thing and let's not kid ourselves - your work will be much faster. Don't get me wrong, I admire your work and your willingness to sculpt the Liberty by yourself :)

Yes, now it looks grand :)

My only tiny little bit of criticism would be to the pedestal :) (I know I'm being a pain in...  You don't even need to adress it, I just feel obliged somehow to point it out because I studied it at some point :) ) The main entrance: it looks squished somehow... You also ommited the big "circles" on each side of it. The area below the four pillars: there is too much space above the sunken rectangle, look at my model for reference. That would be it, the rest is really not important, I doubt anybody will notice differences so there's no point is sweating over them. Again, you did wonderful job, the Statue and pedestal look beautiful. And the nightlights are of course brilliantly done.

I just need to ask, would you mind doing older version?

Wow,just incredible!Lady Liberty is very well done, the textures are perfect.Maybe the floortiling looks a little itzy bit too clean, but that`s just complaining about first world problems.Say,after looking at the statue in google,it seems that there is a hole and a staircase inside one of the twin triangles. Not sure if this staircase was always there or it is temporary for restauration reasons.

Also wow for the shiny statue.Must have been an interesting sight with this shiny giant statue.

It looks beautiful :) Thank you for adding those small fixes :)

That was exactly what I meant :) While the two rectangular terraces weren't there around 1900 (I don't really remember when they were added them [before there was a soil heap in the centre of the star-shaped terrace and wide steps leading to the entrance]) I don't really mind them. See the photo:

All I wanted was a copper version :) This one you made is nice but I think is a little too golden... I think it was rather something like that:

... I still can't believe we will have a proper Statue of Liberty finally... :D

Having the old version too is going to be great!

I have one question though (maybe it's already been answered)... is the lot going to be overhanging?
