I've always wanted a model of the G.T. in SC4, but I never had the BATing skills for it, nor did I think I'd ever. Now that I have some skill, I might well be able to make an attempt.

Looking good so far, albeit a bit short. But seriously, I'm sure you will be able to produce a version that's more up to today's standards than sam_lawrence was capable of doing back then, with gmax and a considerably slower PC. Good to see some activity here!

EDIT: The shape of the bottom portion of the observation deck/area was too blocky. Smoothened it out for more accuracy, relative to the RL structure. It also has a nice, properly modelled spire. If you want to see how it looked initially, Click Here D:

Lol, don't worry, I do have plans for a Maxis night version -- but considering I might have about 6 or 8 nightlighting color schemes, Maxis night might miss out on a few of those (depending on how patient I am when I start rendering)

 

So, yet another update. Why? Cause I've finished 2 assignments today, and I thought I'd edit the Sky Tower a bit. I also just kinda wanna say that I'm no where near the mood to be pedantic about the tower's roof junk. So to those out there who are itching for accurate roof junk, tough luck, you're just gonna have to deal with and take it as it is

 

I'm just sorta adding what I feel like, and looking over pictures of the roof junk -- so I'm still adding some level of RL accuracy, just not as much as what a really dedicated BATer would be doing (like reddon, or everyone else at NYBT besides me )

 

Being pedantic about accuracy really isn't my forte, so y'know, sorry to dissapoint XXXD

 

 

BONUS NIGHT TESTS for your enjoyment. They look terrible so far, but they're just tests nonetheless. Just wanted to see how they would look like on the tower; and it gives you an idea on the different color schemes I have in mind

We sure do get a lot of different colour schemes here in Auckland, I lose track of whats happening. Most memorable are Cancer Awareness week when it's pink, Christmas red and green and Blue for when the Blues Rugby team are playing at home.

I've never actually seen the Sky Tower have a "NZ themed lighting" Most of the time, it's lit in a soft orange/yellow or plain blue/white lights. I've seen it go green/red like the one before, and a few pinks, blue, red and green alone, and of course, deep yellow/gold (So many color schemes XD). But I guess a blue/red (and mb white) could be arranged

Yeah, I'm trying to figure the glass out. I'll make the interior lighting more noticable next time, by the looks of it in the test, the ambient lighting drowned it out
