Here in Detroit it seems like with the beginning of the month of April, we've finally started to get some warmer weather. I can finally walk around without worrying about slipping on ice, or having to crawl over snow.

So I've been busy with non-BATing projects, but this weekend I had some time and did some light BATing.

 

I've wanted to do this one, 220 W. Congress, for a while, because it looked easy, and because it's in the part of downtown Detroit that I'd like to see recreated in the game. Looking around in google maps I'm sure you guys can spot quite a few mipro BATs (it's even adjacent to 211 West Fort Street).

 

In real life it's an office building with ground floor retail, but I was thinking about making it CS$$ or even CS$ in order to help fill those voids in the game.

 

But now the weekend is over and I'm not entirely sure when I'll be getting back to it. But eventually.

Hey guys! I have been working on re-creating downtown detroit and the surrounding area in simcity 4 for a while now. Downtown is pretty much done (except for a few buildings I am missing...wink wink) and I just started working on midtown. However, SC4 does have some limitations that make the diagonal streets not right (even with NAM). Also at the time I started, I did not know how to measure out my streets correctly, so some of my blocks are either too big or too small. Its just for fun though, so I'm not terribly worried about it. 

I am very glad that there is a BAT team here that has been making all these wonderful Detroit buildings (and helping me fill in my city). I am looking forward to 1001 woodward being finished soon so I can fill in the blank space in my Woodward block!

Hi everyone!

 

Real life has been non-stop for months and months (and months) now, but I haven't forgotten about Simtropolis... and I also haven't stopped BATting, although I've slowed down considerably.

 

Here's a new little guy from Detroit -- officially it's 1520 Woodward Avenue, but it was previously known as the Lane Bryant Building, which is what I will be using for its STEX name.

 

 

Just finishing up the night versions now; I hope to upload it soon!

I'm happy to see you haven't been entirely lost to RL. This place is nicer with you around, and I'm not just saying that because of the BATs, although these are certainly a strong argument, too.

 

That's an interesting building there... is the front part of its original design, or was it modernised at some time?

I thought we had an upload list at the beginning of the thread but it looks like maybe we never got around to it. I'll work on updating the first post tomorrow.

 

In the meantime here's all our released BATs and WIPs in google maps. But zoom out first because for some reason the map starts you out in the middle of nowhere. The map is also slightly out of date, and doesn't show pictures of the BATs, it just marks the buildings in real life.

ok, I've updated it. It's not as nice as the table in the old thread though. The forum no longer has options for making tables, unfortunately. 

 

I'm not sure if we'll be maintaining a WIPs list though. 

 

 

For me personally, my mipro WIPs are 1001 Woodward, 220 West Congress, Detroit Police HQ, The Kean, and The Pavilion, although I'm sure by now my WIPs list has lost all credibility.

BTW, that's a really impressive list of accomplishments!

 

PS... 1001 Woodward would be great too - as well as the building that it replaced
