Glad to see these BATs still being pumped out. I've been trying to make cities with old-school architecture and these are a perfect fit. Looking forward to some great BATs to be released on top of the great ones released already.

One question: will this be exclusively Michigan or will there be Brew City bats as well? I lived there back in '07-'08 and it quickly became (and remains) my favorite city in the world

Enjoying would be saying the least! Been loving them for years, especially after you guys really got into the nightlights in the wake of SimFox's advances. I've followed both of your releases regularly for a very long time. I've never been to Detroit but I know it has a lot of fascinating architecture and it will be exciting to see more of it around here

More progress on the Garfield Building! 

 

 

The upper Midwest is in the grips of arctic weather and the high temperature in Milwaukee on Monday is forecast to be -13F (-25C) with wind chills as low as -55F (-48C)!!! My offices have already been closed for Monday so I have an extra day to BAT! I hope to get the modeling done and get well into texturing before my long, frigid weekend is over!

So for the new thread I'll give an update on all my wips:

 

 

1001 Woodward:

 

The day render is done and the night is almost done. But for the lotting I'll need to make a ground texture of grey pavers, and I'll also have to figure out how to make the building fit on the lot better for SC4. That's why I've been pushing this one back.

 

The Pavilion:

 

I really want to do the best job possible on this building. The way it is and the way I have it now is just not right, so I'll be restarting it completely, and it will be a lot better. I'd also like to do the other Mies van der Rohe towers in Lafayette Park, as well as the lowrises.

 

 

Charlotte Apartments:

 

Done and released! (I put together these images a while ago )

 

Detroit Police Department Headquarters:

 

I simply haven't worked on it, and tbh I don't think about it much. But I do really think it would be great to have a police station like this for the game.

 

The Kean:

 

I started this in like 2006 or 2007 or something, and I've barely ever worked on it, lol. During any given time it's always been one of my easiest wips to finish but I never seem to get to it! But 2014 will be the year it is finished. Actually all these BATs will be released in 2014.

 

 

Anchor Bar:

 

This is the preview from about a week ago, and I haven't worked on it since. It will be the next BAT I release.

It does indeed! (Well, all of them do, as usual.)

 

As for the lotting of 1001 WW, IMO the building won't look half bad on a regular rectangular lot - probably a corner lot, with the plaza and the tree planter facing the corner. A ploppable overhanging version may lend itself for use with the FAR networks included in the NAM, I should think.

T Wrecks: Yeah the plan is to make an overhang for use with the FAR roads, and then orthogonal versions for general use. Although one problem is how the building is oriented in real life. The Woodward side is actually the side to the right, not the side with the plaza.

 

Girafe: lol yeah I still plan on replacing the trees. I remember you saying so from many years ago.

Update on Anchor Bar. I worked on the back (not seen here), and did the roof. Next are a few more details (a window on the side of the building mainly), and then the glass. I'm going to try modeling the interior and curtains and stuff for this, to see how well it works in general and to practice for a few upcoming BATs where I know for sure I'll have to do the glass like this.
